Boris Acket is set to release a new EP on the Amsterdam based collaborative project and record label De Lichting. Made up of a consortium of Yield Records, Native Response and Working Title the label has acted as a prominent showcase of leftfield dance and electronic music in the city and offers great promise. The new EP from Boris Acket is titled "Znton" and features a collection of thoughtful tech fused tracks built for the club.

Pegasus, the flying horse god, child of Medusa who was foaled upon her death. The spawn of the God Poseidon who according to legend was tasked by Zeus to bring thunder and lightning to Mount Olympus.
Well Pegasus also brings thunder and lightning to the track Perseguido Por El Rayo. 
Wonky pads add a hint of drama while keeping the playful nature of the track well in dancefloor territory. The track is well in key with Madrid based Frigio Records left of centre dance music policy. 
It's starting to sound like summer is here, but beware, there is a storm brewing and it's heading straight for the dancefloor and it comes in the shape of Ecdisis Vol​.​1.

Before Christ is a new project from Craig Christon and Bonar Bradberry. Remix maestros Mushrooms Project take on both tracks. First up Barry's K is a moody brooding chuggy basement Jam with ethnic melody and dubby effects. The mighty Italians mellow out the groove and extend adding all there trademarks touches.Uh!. The second track is Tuesday Club is a techy machine funk bomb with shades of New Beat and a nod to Forgemasters. The Mushrooms boys bring the acid and soft melodic pads turning this into a dreamy heads down groover.

Review

Craig Christon and Bonar Bradberry team up as Before Christ for this essential slice of brooding party fuel, leading in with the trippy, otherworldly tones of "Barry's K." From the grinding pulse of the analogue bassline to the mystical keys, it's the consummate astral traveler for DJs exploring the outer realms of the dancefloor. Mushroom Project gently rub more spaced out elements into the original, injecting a little light and letting the hits linger for longer in the ample space of their killer version. "Tuesday Club" finds Before Christ turning to a more sharp-edged rhythmic palette without losing the hypnotic qualities of their sound, before Mushroom Project return to lay down a rubbery 303 bassline that fits right in amongst the raw drum hits and dense FX processing.

Boris Acket, what to say about the artist making waves in both auditory and visual realms. His music is unique, as are his forays into lighting and art installations with cohorts Nick Verstand, and Bob Roijen as Skyline. For fans of boundaries being pushed, you’ve met your match. 
Today we have the pleasure of premiering Znton 03. Titled the third out of six tracks on the release, but certainly not a middling track, Znton 03 brings a groovy vibe and melancholic pads that we thrive on here at Delayed. Full to the brim with warm synths and sporadic hints of brightness, Znton 03 chugs along and brings introspection but providing that brief hint of hopefulness for the future. 
As part of De Lichting, he along with the rest of the collective, have piqued our interest and created a wonderful microcosm of discerning music that we've been following very closely.

Portland producer Graintable finally gets a re-rub of last year’s sold-out Universal Ash LP with reinterpretations from ex-Stereolab Hologram Teen, Timothy Clerkin, Flug 8 and Coast2Coast.
After last year’s much-anticipated return to Ransom Note Records from Jim Cooke aka Graintable, he’s enlisted extended R$N and Portland family to reinterpret his Universal Ash body of work.
The Universal Ash LP was an overwhelming experience that built on its predecessor’s mind-altering ambient odysseys casting its stylistic horizons deeper and wider. The originals were recorded in a series of one-take hardware jams, speaking to the liberating, creative power of chasing an idea with little thought as to where it might take you there were no parts. With this in mind they’ve been stretched, morphed and reinterpreted in altogether new directions on this EP.
After the rapturous response of his Space Techno EP last year on R$N recs Daniel Herrmann aka Flug 8 has resurrected his stripped back, sparse, galactic thumps and turned Dark Surface into another one of his interplanetary explorations in deep space.
