The SPECIAL DELIVERY – the vinyl iteration of I'm A Cliché's EDIT SERVICE – is back. After last year's first instalment in the series that featured acclaimed edits by Red Axes and Rouge Mécanique, this time around we commit to wax four edits that come courtesy of Mannequin Records' A.A. We'll let you connoisseurs trace back the originals.

A1. Systa — Driven by female vocals and a LinnDrum groove this mid-tempo edit is a melodic and elegant affair. As the track progresses it becomes more and more ominous and there is no doubt you’ll witness the dance floor breaking down while it’s played.

A2. Atema — An uptempo number where production and vocals harken back to the sound of Italian new wave. Culled from an ultra rare cassette-only release, this is a compelling track that will make everybody feel the rhythm of the dance. 

B1. Pava — Another reminder that Italian film soundtracks from the late 70’s and early 80’s are absolute gold mines. This number where bass guitar, live drums and a fair share of analog keyboards are used truly stands out thanks to its plodding groove and slow motion dance-inducing rhythm. Perfect for warm-ups or wind-downs. 

B2. Lapi — If there’s a banger on the EP, this is it. Retro-futuristic, dark and catchy this rare minimal wave cut is quite irresistible and this edit is bound to cause some interesting damage on the dance floor.

Each copy is hand-stamped and come with an exclusive poster (40x60cm) folded and inserted in a picture disc-style PVC sleeve.

We were massive fans of the original and immediately in love with this great remix from fellow Amsterdammers the Pin Up Club.

A mix full of energy and strength. We are presented with a most distinctive and interesting harmony played by the two voices of the synths. The rhythm and pace are a moving mechanism, contagious by its on nature. The influence of the sun, bounded to a masculine feature, leads the mix, crowned by a distorted electric guitar which suspends us in time, as if floating,  with bold and charming sharpness, before the big release that leads to the final crescendo. A crescendo that works its way subtly, so we can’t be fully aware of its advance and comfortably be taken by its driving will.

After a splendid, sought after 12” on Pyramids Of Mars, an already expensive edits split Ep with Red Axes on Edit Service and his highly original and acclaimed self released debut album “Don’t touch my sister” Rouge Mecanique delivers a stone cold classic Ep for Discos Capablanca. The psychedelic steady muscle of ‘All Will Be Changed’ aims to destroy visionary dance floors. ‘Sans Scrupules’ is the most surprising acid banger you will likely hear this year. ‘Ampedusa / Xaver’ defies description and its mutant sound could evoque ecstatic early minimal house references, kraut and concrete music. ‘Can I say’ is simply put the most elegant, languid way to say goodbye to an Ep that exudes sheer brilliance and character. Timeless applies here.

Housed in hand silkscreened sleeves with art by Capablanca, hand stamped edition of 300.

A2. Rouge Mecanique - Sans Scrupules

The cold water rushed against the side of the boat as the storm began to worsen. The night had grown dark several hours ago and now all they were left with was the harrowing whistle of the loud, hollow wind which shook the wooden frame. They had known the journey would be difficult but few had expected the waters to rage with such malice. Now, as the waves rose higher and higher all around them they began to think of home, not that of which they had left but of a made up place far away. Somewhere in which life was peaceful, still and they didn't have to flee. 

Carisma released "Qué es Wave?" back in July earlier this year. Now Dengue Dancing Records have returned with a remix package featuring reimagined versions from Mr. TC and Tom Tom Clubber. Listen to the Mr. TC version of "Qué es Wave?"

Luca Venezia, AKA Curses has spent the past year moonlighting as a DJ, Producer and a label owner for Ombra International, an imprint which focuses on left of centre analogue techno with a live edge specializing in Cold Wave with a slight hint of Goth. 
The latest offering is an EP from the Postmodernism Forms, an act based between Bogota Columbia and Berlin, Germany.
A track which channels the Cure as much as it does electronic music. The second track on the B side, 'Never Forget that You're Alive' boasts a live bass, distant sounding spoken word vocals which hypnotizes as well as creates the urge to dance. (difficult not to when closing in on 135 bpm) Dark and distant but always close enough for you to remember that you are alive.
