Bytes are super excited to announce the reissue of the killer 1990s electro EPs by SEM (aka Damon Baxter, who would go on to record as Deadly Avenger). The original 12”s have been out of print since they were released on J Saul Kane’s Electron Industries imprint in 1995 (Phox EP) and 1996 (The Demon EP). They have never been available digitally. With the original masters M.I.A., the tracks have been lovingly remastered from vinyl by Keith Tenniswood, who as part of Two Lone Swordsmen (alongside the late Andrew Weatherall), knows a thing or two about producing top-notch electro music. "Voyage Voyage Voyage" by DJ Salinger is not your typical mixtape; it's a subjective journey through 80's pop songs, reimagined by London-based French producer and site friend @franzkirmann. These tracks, like the iconic "Voyage voyage" by Desireless, evoke memories of summers in France, heard on radios or at local events. Kirmann's sonic treatments distort and suspend the music, creating a dreamy, distant quality that enhances themes of escapism. The result is an ambient reinterpretation of nostalgic synth pop, reminiscent of distant radio transmissions. While the essence of the original songs remains, they are transformed into a mesmerizing sonic tapestry. In essence, it's a nod to the past through a contemporary lens, akin to imagining a cover of "Voyage, voyage" by artists like Fennesz or My Bloody Valentine.

Ransom Note Records sub label Insult To Injury are delighted to welcome back analogue techno pioneers Buran with their second full length excursion for the label, in the form of The Hunter EP. Born of the mechanical machinations of Joe Wretham and Ian Scott, their latest instalment of furious face melters is aimed squarely at the post midnight dancefloor, bubbling away with squelchy 303 potions and black magic beats.

First single, Alnitak, opens the EP and immediately we’re confronted with Buran’s inimitable modus operandi; slash and burn Acid Techno with a scorched earth ethos. A full frontal assault of acidic sorcery, lobbing techno bangers over the ramparts as the castle walls are pummelled. Hold onto your hats, it’s not for the faint of heart!

Alnilam is next out the gate, ricocheting off the armour plating of its enemies, bouncing along and razing everything in its path to the ground. We’re delivered brief respite from the brutality with the addition of some celestial vocal edits, whose angelic timbres provide juxtaposition to the synthetic onslaught. As the smoke clears, the penultimate Mintaka glides into view. Wonderfully barbed, but gloriously lush chords propel the track forward, over a bed over automaton drum machines and staccato blips, bleeps and swirling noise.

Rounding off, ITI are hyped to have the mighty Void Complet on remix duties. Fresh off the back of his breakthrough release on CHOBU Records, London based super producer Chog Burley takes Alnitak and reimagines it in his own image. Launching with a rich, metallic arpeggio, we’re drawn into an analogue dream, before realising that’s all a ruse. We have been lulled into a false sense of security, because we’re about to be clattered around the head by that savage 303 riff from the original. We’re caught in the crossfire as glitched vocals and bit crushed acid lines vie for dominance. This correspondent knows not how to fully encapsulate the terror of this remix… watch out dance floors around the world!

Having previously released a pair of EPs under the name Chaams (why that extra 'a' was removed remains a mystery), the French producer has made the move over to brand spanking new French label Abîme for his latest release, which marks something of a reset. This is deconstructed club music at its finest, in the vein of Rabit, Mumdance, Visionist et al.

Lettre d'Amort was inspired by a solo journey through the Alps, taken as a means of rebalancing his psychic state after a period of upheaval. Having grown up in its shadow, the mountain range was already a special location to Chams, one "where the beauty and fear of nature merge to shape a unique atmosphere".

We're premiering 'Finale', which oxygen deprivation and light-headed transcendence. Glossy, cinematic synths swirl around in the ether while Chams' vicious, crunching percussion is brought to the foreground. It's all a bit of a mess - in the best way possible - until suddenly and unexpectedly everything coheres halfway through, and the beauty of those synth melodies is allowed its space.

So as we present our new release, we thought it was an interesting way to jump out of the blocks giving the listeners a chance to tune into track 2 from our new Ep 'RIDE'. 

After many releases on Malka Tuti, our spiritual birth place, we decided to try releasing ourselves for a little while to create a fluid movement from our minds to your speakers. 

This track, alongside another original and remixes from Manfredas and Gum (Jay Watson) & Ginoli mark a new chapter for us. We're happy to have you along for the journey.
