Orbita  [@orbita-berlin],  the Berlin-based collective of DJs and promoters,  promote through their events and musical direction what they like to call “Adult Dance Music,” a concept that pushes back against instant gratification and brings a more mature sensibility to the dance floor.

For the first episode of their Pluto Radio residency, they invited Norwegian producer and DJ Henning Severud, aka @Telephones. After more than ten years in Berlin, he has become a key figure of the underground scene. Through his label, European Carryall, Henning channels a singular character: dreamy, life-affirming, and sensual, qualities deeply cherished in the balearic scene. His monthly radio show, New Massage, on Refuge Worldwide is likewise a real treat.

Slow Bangers Mixtape Vol. 1  - B

Scott Hudson — better known behind the decks as Hudson’s Choice — is one of South-London’s up and coming perceptive vinyl diggers and tastemakers. Based in the UK, he’s built his reputation through a deep love for house, disco, and worldly, soulful electronic sounds — both as a DJ and a record-collector. 
 In 2024 he delivered his debut EP, Myatts Field, on Delusions of Grandeur, co-produced with label-founder Jimpster — a release that showcased his ability to weave classic sensibilities with contemporary left-field club energy. 
This “Friends & Family” mix in the spirit of working at Phonica Records, feels like a carefully curated journey through his musical universe. You can expect flickers of deep house, nods to disco and soul, maybe a touch of dubby wanderlust — a mix that reflects his dual life as both DJ and digger, uniting records from different eras and cultures into one seamless set!

Mike Smith aka Balearic Mike is one of the world's more unsung DJ Heroes, but of late his praises seem to be getting sung well beyond his native Manchester. A long time buyer at Vinyl Exchange, Mike has always gone his own way and dug deep (a common theme here), any one who has listened to his Cosmic Alphonsus series, or his Originals comp (done with Moonboots) knows the deep water he swims in. Mike has played at Electric Chair, Horse Meat Disco, Pacha and Space in Ibiza, with me in NYC and at numerous spots worldwide. He does the Estrellas parties with Jan Hammered on the reg, he also co-runs the Fascinating Rhythms inprint with Steve Terry.

Ears Have Eyes is a wonderful new Peckham based vinyl label comitted to releasing weird underground electronic music, and showing flagrant disregard for anything so boring as genre constrictions.

Their third release is the 'Chocky & Tilman' split EP. Bringing together two artists with complementary sounds, who're also both friends of the label? Makes perfect sense.

Tilman's on the flip, while house supremo Chocky takes on the A-side. We're premiering his 'Tool Time', a gorgeous piano house cut that sounds like morning mist rising off a Japanese mountain lake.

The 'Chocky & Tilman' EP is out on vinyl Nov 23rd, and digital shortly after. C
