Over a collection of 25 tracks Exit Planet Earth delves into the reaction of electronic music artists across the planet to the craziest times of the 21st century. We find rules being broken, boundaries being crossed and genres being defied resulting in some moments of magic. Only by losing what we took for granted did we realise what we had in the first place. Only by leaving the planet can we gaze back on our pale blue dot and appreciate our fragile existence…

In his world, slow and steady always won the race. He had no desire to charge ahead, he always lost his footing and ended up trailing. Sometimes this was to the annoyance of others, he moved at his own speed and that's just how things were - no amount of pushing or rushing him would change that. This way of operating was to his detriment though, he couldn't expect others to live life at a snails pace otherwise he'd be left behind... 

What was originally intended as a one off compilation to celebrate five years of Rhythm Section's label arm, has now become a flagship series that spotlights stalwarts and emerging talent from around the world. SHOUTS returns for instalment number three, a whopping 29 track release that touches on all the musical cornerstones of the Peckham-based label and party series.

For this one the project has transitioned into a digital only release, which will allow them to shout about more new artists than ever before. This time they make pitstops all over, taking in everything from jazzy hip hop via Berlin's JuJu Rogers to percussive rhythms from DC's James Bangura and bright progressive house from London-based producer Manami, among so many others...

First appearing on the crucial Moroccan label Casa Voyager a few years ago, @kosh212 has been on a roll ever since. An attempt to express both sadness and hopes for the future, ‘Chaos in the City’ @2020visionrecordings is a tribute to the artist’s hometown of Casablanca, a city that can be particularly chaotic during rush hours.

A thick cloud of pale yellow smoke billed out of the test tube, filling the clinical-looking, white washed room with a bitter odour that bristled the hairs on your nostrils. Different experiments took place at each table in the laboratory, trials and tests that came with equally positive and negative results. In their small lab-coat adorned groups, they clustered around their equipment with inquisitive expressions and furrowed brows, concocting special potions and medicines for motives we knew not.

Do you love acid? If the answer is yes, well this is the record for you. Cologne imprint Minimood Extra - the offshoot of Minimood - are charging into 2023 arm in arm with an old label mate, David Hausdorf and his new vinyl-only EP ACID. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Unlike his previous deep dives into dub techno and Detroit-influenced sounds, the Berlin native (who is also a cellist for Munich Philharmonic Orchestra!) explores the wonders of the 303, fashioning four hypnotic tracks centred around squelching acid lines and paired with electro and techno influences.

Boris Bunnik is a prolific producer based in The Netherlands who has consistently created incredible electronic music across multiple styles as Versalife, Conforce, Severnaya and Vernon Felicity building a wide fan base and widely regarded as a master of the trade with records produced for highly respected labels including Rush Hour, Delsin, Frustrated Funk, Clone and Further Electronic. Following the magnificence of his debut album ‘Manifold’ on 20/20 Vision he now returns with his second full length album ‘Chronoception’.

Chronception sees Bunnik expand from rigid electro beats (Polyshron) into more freeform excursions featuring liquid breakbeats layered with rasping synths (Perceptual Time Dilation), futuristic soundscapes (Altered Sense), intricately woven random sequences featuring tight drum programming (Oculus). Bunnik always manages to elicit emotions from the machines with an extraordinary amount of feeling poured into the circuits until each song tells a story from the melancholy of Equilibrium to the future worlds of Clairvoyance.
