Moin, mal wieder etwas Fluffiges zum Tanzen mit Lyrics. Schön kurz. Lieber öfter hören als gelangweilt sein von geloopten Stellen. So empfinde ich es jedenfalls. Und im Club sind meine Tracks eh so anders, dass sie gern auch nur kurz auftauchen dürfen. Ist mir auf der Fusion aufgefallen, als einer meiner Tracks (Because I Mumble) dort dank Judith van Waterkant lief. Das Pfeifenmemo stach für mich genauso schön weird raus wie geplant raus, war mir aber dann selbst zu lang auf dem Floor. Lieber zu kurz und man dürstet danach, als zu langgezogen. Sonst wird aus einer Pointe ein Kaugummi. 😁 So ging es mir auch als DJ mit einigen meiner weirdesten Tracks, die ich gern mal unter Techno gemischt habe - wenn das zu lange drin ist, nimmt es die Atmosphäre des Raums zu sehr in Anspruch (finde ich). Als kurze Highlights sind mir solch besondere Lieder immer lieber.

Italian production duo, Mushrooms Project, make their debut on Jansen Jardin with the wonderful, ‘Galattica’. Releases for labels like Under The Shade and Is It Balearic? and remixes for the likes of Tirk, Lipservice and Nang have introduced their blissed-out, Mediterranean sound to fans around the world.

Galattica is 11 minutes and 45 seconds of high plains drifting, dream disco for late night drives and sunset sessions. A lush combination of Euro disco arpeggios and West Coast guitars spill out across a landscape of live percussion, bass and dub acrobatics. This is the soundtrack to a Spaghetti Western set in Ibiza. A Fistful of Cervezas.

The remix comes courtesy of the mighty Chicago Damn who has been responsible for some extraordinary music from his debut on Mark E’s Merc label to releases on Claremont 56 and his own eponymous imprint. Here he re-imagines the original track in the image of Model 500, stripping away the music to a raw machine groove. Dark, atmospheric and undeniably aimed at the floor.

Disco Italia is the new full on Disco EP by Daniel Monaco this time releasing on Spa in Disco label of the Spanish Disco Wizard Fran Deeper, in this EP Daniel arranged and played most of the instruments with some precious help on Percussion from Yannick van Ter Beek (from Daniel’s project called UMEME)  and Simone Cesarini on guitar fellow Italian friend since the time at the music academy in Rome.  Disco Italia is a mix of Afro-Psychedelic vibes, Speedy Balearic rhythms with Slap Basslines and a 70s Jazz-Psychedelic Disco Jam made together with fellow musician Stefan Schmid.  In this Ep Daniel satisfies his needs to play his Soul out making it in balance with what the dance floor demands : Disco Stomping Groovy Rhythms.

Leo Mas and Sally Rodgers are as relevant today as they were at the beginning of the house music revolution. The former continues a legacy that began in Ibiza, where he DJ’d the most fabled nights at Amnesia and pioneered the Balearic sound, and today produces wonderful grooves together with another great Italian DJ, his longtime partner, Fabrice. The latter has cruised the fertile fields of electronic music since the late eighties, at the forefront of idiosyncratic genre offshoots like acid jazz and cosmic Balearic as a producer, DJ and singer, along with musical partner Steve, as the U.K. duo A Man Called Adam.

‘This Unspoken Love’ offers a mellow euphoria, skywards pads and pulsating bass that coaxes a sense of something eternal. Rodgers sings of unspoken love surviving and recalls that faded dream of utopia, imagined on analog synthesizers and broadcasted to pulsating crowds, all plugged into the same feeling of immortal bliss.

“The north star still shines, the dream lives on. Sometimes you just have to close your eyes to sense it.”

This release features the vocal radio edit of the track. An extended and dub version will be released in August.

La Bestiole Records et La Bagnolette s’unissent pour créer le nouveau label Stima et rendre à nouveau disponible l’une des curiosités les plus rares de la scène gwoka fusion parisienne, avec la permission de Jimmy Blanche lui-même.
Le gwoka est un genre traditionnel et engagé de Guadeloupe, habituellement joués avec des percussions ; toutefois, Jimmy l’a mélangé avec brio à d’autres influences pour créer son propre son, dansant, spirituel, indéniablement 80’s mais également intemporel.
La face A de STIMA001 inclut 4 titres de l’album original de 1987, avec la bombe pour dancefloor qu’est “Misik A Moun A Kaz”, le tube gwoka “Tambou La & Ti Bois La“, et deux chansons plus calmes et spirituelles, le poétique “La Nou Te Ye“ et le morceau gwoka jazzy“Dou Van Jou“.
La face B contient le remix housy de “Misik” par Baerlz et la chanson jusqu’alors inédite “Kimbe”, que Jimmy a retrouvé dans ses bandes enregistrées dans les années 1980. La restauration audio et le mastering ont été effectués par Sam - The Wall Studio, et les laques gravées par le légendaire André Pierrat.
