Label founder Holly Lester pools together a selection of her favourite artists from across the globe to form the first volume in the Duality Trax Visions compilation series.

100% of compilation profits will be donated to Doctors Without Borders, who provide medical care to casualties of war in Gaza, Syria, Yemen and much more. The organisation has also worked tirelessly to provide Covid-19 related aid to countries hit the hardest throughout the pandemic and are currently lobbying for a global waiver of patents on COVID-19 technologies.

Bouncing from the U.S to Europe, the VA travels through a multitude of moods and genres across seven tracks - including acid tinged electro from New York, breaks infused garage from Chicago, rave-fuelled house music from Belgium and a pulsating trance-inspired club track from Estonia.

Having debuted on the label in 2020, Butter Sessions welcomes Naarm/Melbourne collective Polito back for their second full EP. A live techno four-piece comprised of producers Robert Downie and Finnian Langham with dancers Arabella Frahn-Starkie and Hillary Goldsmith, Polito describe themselves as "a meeting of improvised contemporary dance and live improvised techno music, working together to create entrancing performance experiences". In a live setting the stripped down machine rhythms and physical manifestations combine for a modern twist on the producer/dancer combination of rave's early days.

The Anticipate EP takes its name from the final track's Kafka-inspired vocals, capturing how Polito present the energy of those live performances through four tracks of techno with a stealthy intensity, seemingly about to ignite at any moment. As for the tracks themselves, each are best described in Robert's own words:

"QFHB was recorded using a eurorack modular system, TR8-S, OP-1, and features my voice ruptured into caveman vocals. The name is pretty self-explanatory. It's a big beat!

"'Costume Change' was recorded using a eurorack modular system, TR8-S and Reaktor. The name is a reference to the magical smoke and mirrors imagery that comes to mind when listening to this track. Like there's something cunning going on behind the scenes. We are distracting you with a raised eyebrow while we load up our next trick...

"'Journey Worm' comes at you hard right out of the gate. We always have to put a chugger on our releases. This track was recorded using a Moog Grandmother, TR8-S and a eurorack modular system. We wanted to make this one sound super springy and rubbery, like a thick alien worm ripping through a cross-dimensional portal.

"'Hug Yourself' was recorded using a eurorack modular system, TR8-S, Korg Arp Odyssey, and features vocals from Finn and me. The text in the middle comes from Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis, heavily edited to make it sound more abstract and textural. It has quite a theatrical quality, with a lot of characters here fighting for your attention. While the curtains are slowly closing on the stage, they're pushing one another out of the way to get one last moment in the spotlight.

"The name is simply a suggestion to bring yourself back to your body in a time of need, and dancing to a beat is the perfect way to get you there. It’s like the world is collapsing in the song but maybe all you need is already within you. You can always hug yourself."

It beamed down upon the fields from the heavens up above illuminating life for another day as planet earth slowly awoke once more. Wandering through the radiant green hills he watched as the shadows were replaced by the earthly glow of a warm morning. This was a magical place, a place he might call home. 

En Anden is a familiar producer who has released numerous times on ØEN Records over the years. The Copenhagen based musician has however outdone himself on a new five track EP for the label which has us longing for the sun kissed days of the summer. The record also features a remix from up and coming artist and NES label boss Dj Popup.

We like to present to you our new release with a selection of day one friends. The 12” starts with the euphoric rave anthem “Members of Warning 2021” by Giraffi Dog & Erik Jäähalli. A track title some of you might recognize which will bring peace and harmony to It’s followed by the heartwarming Hip Hop cut “Shout Outs” which is dedicated to da family and our sweet raver posse. The B side hits different as Henry 3000 is a G when it comes to baba Electro bombs while DJ Hummer understands to cool it down in trancy Westcoast Funk manner. A well balanced pack of diverse tunes wrapped once again in beautiful design by Guillaume de Ubeda.

We collected bits of bouncing Electro, celestial Trance, fluid Breakbeats and in between for heavy rotation and impact on the dance floors of today and tomorrow.  Dig out your walkman and activate the Mega Bass, or clean the tape heads of your deck with a Q-Tip and press the Dolby button.  The hiss is calling. Full force Warning experience copied to magnetic tape to represent the retro future sound of Berlin on two sides.

Dyptych is a treble in exploration of dark, minimal, and glitch-driven breakbeats. Each track mirrors the other - similar in tone and structure, yet fractured into distinct variations. Heavy sub pressure and warped percussion anchor the sound, while off-kilter edits, clicks, and stutters twist the groove into unexpected shapes. It’s music that thrives in the shadows: quirky, tense, and hypnotic, balancing minimal restraint with intricate glitchy detail.

Coming into orbit late November PS001.2 continues our dancefloor focussed explorations...

On the A-side Point Guard returns to the label with his razor-sharp electro outing ‘Odyssey’. An emotional expedition that harnesses dancefloor euphoria with a powerfully burning bassline. Joining forces to complete the A side is Melbourne producer Disrute and label head Andy Garvey. Here an ever-evolving synthline propels you forward throughout the track that builds infinitely but pauses just to release Garvey’s mesmerising vocal, ‘NRG’.  

Flip the axis and you will find swirling synths and scattered percussion that creates the murky club weapon that is emerging Sydney producer PMA’s ‘Hek’. Completing the release, Roy Mills brings you to a full rotation with ‘Aquatic Pressure’. His jittery breakbeat cut that slows to a half step mid way and returns with odd-ball synth mayhem.
