PREMIERE: Ode To 97 - First Day In Tine (Tigerskin's Alternative Mix) [DLDIG001]

Common Labour is an independent record label based in Helsinki, Finland. Fairly discreet over the internet since its creation in 2013, it has been releasing good physical records consistently over the years, mostly by its head honcho PothOles aka Tuomo Aslak Puranen, as well as a series of various EPs going by the name of "Odd Jobs" featuring some under the radar Finnish producers. Their newest 12" is by PothOles again, the "Polaroids EP", and we were immediately amazed by the quality of this release. Take "Feather Island" premiered here and think Scandinavian deep house with a touch of groove : warm and crisp pads, a solid percussion beat punctuated by a teasing synth bass, this is pure bliss ! Props to Common Labour for this fantastic 12" coming to you on June 6th.

When looking back he now realised that there was very little which he could have done to prevent what happened. In retrospect, the scene of the crash had been far too chaotic and messy to be able to salvage any of the stock. The van had laid tipped over by the side of the road and the produce was spilt far beneath on the banks of the highway. In hindsight he should have run away, The cops were always bound to catch him. Boy, had they punished him when they busted his ass. They didn't take too kindly to having product spilt on the roads of their great country. 

Mculo steps up with a new release for the Roots By The Oder label which marks its third release with an EP simply titled "Lago Santo". This one features three warm house cuts with a tech influence.

Sanity was long gone. He had little left to believe in but for what lay before him. Who the hell knew if he could trust that. As he walked down the street he scowled through the shop windows, the glass flickered under the glint of raindrops. The noise of traffic echoed horribly around his head and the voices kept talking back and forth. He wanted to run but who could say how far he would ever get. A broken man walking alone through the rainy streets of a town he once knew. 

This one is pretty special. Yotam Avni has been making vast waves over the last twelve months and this track first surfaced in Ame & Dixon's Essential Mix earlier this year.

The wheels began to spin. For too long the car had been stuck in the mud and the acceleration had failed to propel. It had taken all of the might god had given him to maintain sanity behind the wheel. In the passenger seat his girl looked longingly into the distance, a stretch of vast land lay before them but it looked now as though they might just make it. Everything works backwards, it had simply taken time for him to accept that he might have to confront the demons of his past before he could move beyond. 

Duckett return following his last EP on Greta Cottage Workshop. This time he releases on Galdoors and delivers four moody house tracks which captivate and intrigue.

The venue was far too busy. Smoke filled every coner of the room and condensation dripped from the ceiling. He had no idea where his friend had vanished to. Somewhere within the crowd she was now lost to the mercy of music and movement. As he looked through the body of shadows he could see very little which might give any indication as to her whereabouts. He started to panic, started to dance because he had little choice and continued to move between the sea of darkness. He needed her now, his friend. 

Kerem Akdag appears on a new EP for Apparel Music as part of a sixth birthday release edition. His charming take on a sound which has been commonly associated with South London sees him get deep.

The grand hall looked ever so elegant perched atop the hillside. As he climbed the stairs his haert began to race with a nervous sense of anticipation and awe. How had he ended up here? This was no place for a mere pauper, back home he was a nobody, a rookie and man of the people and the town. He did not deserve to walk amongst royalty. He pushed the golden doorbell and a long ominous ring echoed through the house. He tapped his toes, a jig if you will, and waited...

Folamour has had an exciting year and may well be the next to rise amongst the international club circuit. The French producer returns to see out 2016 with a remix of Exon Bacon's 'Doorbell'.

Makin’ his debut on Washington DC-based imprint Better Listen, Ponty Mython hits the bulls' eye with a top notch five-tracker. The House for Sale EP is definitely the groove you need to heat up your weekend. On the flip side of the wax, we have the title track House For Sale. Premiere: Ponty Mython - House For Sale [Better Listen Records]

Aus Music follow up a string of releases from Shenoda, Recloose and Marquis Hawkes with a Disco-tinged 12” courtesy of a fresh signee and Millionhands head honcho Tee Mango. Having so far almost exclusively released on Millionhands alone, Tee Mango makes a rare appearance outside of his home turf and in doing so follows on from his acclaimed ‘Imperfections Vol.1’ LP which garnered widespread following from the likes of Axel Boman, Palms Trax, Gilles Peterson and Bonobo.
 
His EP#1 for Aus carries forth the sense of raw, sample heavy soul that was the real spark of Imperfections Vol.1, while maintaining a feel for the needs of the dancefloor. Loose, natural drums, deftly chopped samples and hazy synth lines keepit moody. This collection of 4 tracks could be the perfect soundtrack for those early days of sunshine.
