One of Detroit Swindle's highlights of last year was Nebraska’s ‘Soften the wireless’ EP, with disco stomper Khan’s Bargain, and an amazing Tom Noble remix. Since then, they have seen him take on quite a few live shows again, playing at Claire during ADE, and Concrete for their label showcases. He’s also managed to ﬁnd a bit of time to focus on his fresh (new and cool) edit label ‘Friends and Relations’. Luckily, since they’ve been nagging him to do a new EP for Heist just enough for him to still like them, and more than enough for him to want to get it over with, they’ve gotten their hands on another set of amazing tunes. So they are happy to present his amazing music, nicely packaged in one handy record for your listening pleasure : the ‘Metaphor to the ﬂoor’ EP. 
You’ll feel a hint of that Nebraska classic ‘This is the way’ on the lead track ‘Afﬁrmation’, with its subtle build up and release of energy, looping vocals, and dramatic chords. Aglio e Olio is not only a simple yet tasty Italian dish with of just 5 ingredients, it’s also quite the track on this EP, equalling the dish in terms of simplicity and strength. Snares on the 1, Clavi style hits and a loose arrangement give this track a great funk – house crossover appeal. 
On the ﬂip, we’ve got fellow Londoner Laurence Guy, who just released an amazing album on the equally cool ‘Church’. His version of Aglio e Olio is a dreamier excursion with ﬁltered pads, acidey licks and more than enough balls in the low end to get you movin’ in your dim-lit club of choice.  The ep’s ﬁnal track sees Nebraska turning the energy up a notch or 2 (or 3), with ‘Big plate chicken’. It’s the sort of track you would imagine Omar S. producing if he would be just a bit whiter, and a bit more British. Whatever that means.

The ninth excellent EP on Blindetonation comes from Columbian pair Juan RMS & Technicalissues with fresh remixes from Curses and Aurum Miles. 

Juan RMS & Technicalissues have been making music together since 2013. Exploring the regions where minimal, house and dub meet and creating exciting new forms as they go, the pair now run their own Lay Down The Groove label. Here they show off their combined skills with a slick new single. 

The brilliantly gritty ‘Indulgencias’ is a chugging track with dumpy drums and wiry, sinewy synths wrapping round the groove. A dark whispered vocal adds libidinousness as it rolls on, grows in intensity and mesmerises you as it goes. 

The first remix comes from Curses, the dark and romantic moniker from New York City native Luca Venezia who mixes up shades of Italo, electronic music and rock and roll. This essential version is more percussive, with slapping hits and tin pot rattles all underpinned with stabbed bass and spaced out synths. 

The remixes are completed  by Lithuania producer Aurum Miles, an artist who plays guitar, keyboards, drums and synths and makes electronic music infused with elements of rock. He was part of short live pair BlowEnder and now solo once more flips the track into a perfectly menacing and snaking tune with low slung bass and inhuman sound effects. 

This is a terrific trio of visceral disco cuts that are stuffed with masterfully designed details.

Juan RMS & Technicalissues - Indulgencias (Curses Remix) [Blindetonation]

The EP in question is 'Kappa Cygnids' and features two new tracks and as ever they are eloquently named and shrouded in mystical magic. 'Kappa Cygnids' is the lead track and is followed by 'Hyperborea' both tracks have Sinchi's signature sound and are backed up with two cracking remixes from Mexican producers Riglopolar and Roliva.
