Introducing Toy Tonics’ Newest Artist: Martha Pinel!
Brazilian DJ, vinyl digger, party starter, and style icon Martha Pinel has officially joined the Toy Tonics family. Splitting her time between Rio de Janeiro and Berlin, she’s the founder of Assembleia, a laid-back Rio party that’s become a Carnival sensation, and co-founder of Croma, a music-meets-fashion project that shaped Rio’s alt-scene. Featured on the cover of GQ Brazil, she was named one of “13 artists changing the world.”
Her non-linear DJ sets fuse Afro-Brazilian rhythms, Middle Eastern grooves, Italo, disco, house, and Balearic sounds - always bold, emotional, and unpredictable. She’s played Boiler Room, Paris Fashion Week, KALA Festival, DGTL, and more, alongside names like Hunee, Antal, and Prins Thomas.
Martha’s debut EP Real Rio captures a rediscovery of her hometown—a city where beauty and chaos collide in dramatic highs and lows. Z The track Assim reimagines Marcos Valle’s classic Estrelar with collaborator Gabto, reflecting on Rio’s unique “Body Culture” - that unmistakable energy you feel walking along Ipanema Beach.

Martha Pinel - Uber Moto (Lipelis Remix)

One of contemporary boogie’s biggest grails finds its way back to Star Creature in a full cir-cle moment much larger than 7” in diameter. MIA made her debut for Mango Hill records with 2020’s heart-shaped Valentine’s debut “Something ‘ Bout Your Love”. Shortly after, the label put out a call for producers focusing on the boogie sound at the same time Toronto’s Gil Masuda was previewing some demos looking for vocalists. Star Creature’s Tim Zawada linked the two via IG and an anthem was born.

“Love Me Right” is back in print and properly situated on the A Side delivering that bedroom meets dancefloor tough but tender gangster groove grail sound. The B-Side let’s the freakier flag fly with “Creatures Of The Night” on the prowl. Channeling the lo-fi energy of an undis-covered grail, this basement boogie is ready for the main floor, prime time fierceness served raw.

The B-side starts with "Somo", a bright and catchy track full of sunny melodies and feel-good energy, evoking Italo disco moods. Finally, "Flusso Libero" closes the EP with elegance and depth. PREMIERE – Lex Wolf – Anybody Out There (M.A.D Records)

The jungle was a place not to be taken lightly or with little regard, it was dangerous and had the potential to swallow you up within the misty green vines at any moment. Wild things lurked in the dense, thick bush - things which man had no place in pretending to understand or own. They were free beasts of a different environment. Khan's mantra had always focussed on live and let live, it was not the place to disturb whatever they might find but to simply observe with wonder. 

Tunnelvisions release a new LP on Atomnation, a superb voyage through electronic obscurity with some big room elements thrown in for good measure along the way. Very good.

The rays were shining through the towering window, It overlooked the old church and was the only hint of natural light to be found in this deep, dark gloomy place. There was the occasional flicker of gold to be seen hanging from the tall ceiling, candles danced softly by the corner of the room as people came and went with delicate purpose. They were here to pray and observe the beautiful surroundings, they knew little of what lurked beyond the far wall.

Not An Animal have long been friends of Ransom Note and that's why we are even more delighted when they choose to release a banger such as this. They've also drafted in Roman Flugel and Frank Butters for remixes but the original is the treat for us.

wilma is set to release a new EP on the recently relaunched Multiplex record label, an imprint based in Copenhagen with a superb catalogue. This is a stunning piece of crafty house music on an EP which looks set to soar.

The brain was a complicated organ, it has the capacity to love, forgive and forget. It also had a passion for hatred and jealousy depending which way the wind blew that day. Phase memory was a complicated burden and it had led him down many a dangerous path across the years. Whilst he was settled now he still feared that one day it might reappear to haunt his very being and dismay. Others watched on as he danced high and mighty upon the stage but little did they know of his inner turmoil. 

Gene Tellem is a producer and dj very much on the rise. Having previously released on Project Pablo's Sounds Of Beaubien Ouest she now takes aim with a new EP for London based imprint Wolf Music.

The noise in the jungle was radiant and full of life. It echoed through the ages and cast a spell outwards into the city which sat nestled on the outskirts of the deep green forest. Amidst the trees there was a deep flurry of beautiful life and magical creatures. Water ran gently through long running streams and wild animals gathered at the edge of the river bank to drink. Watching from a whizzing helicopter up high above it would seem like they were from another world. The insect swarmed around the tall trees with a hestitant gaze. 

Spinvis & Vinkenoog are remixed by Sapphire Slows on a new remix EP being released by yeyeh • ninih in the coming weeks. A vinyl only release with a profoundly original edge.

The tree was etched with a strange marking, it had been cut deep into the bark to show authority and ownership. It was not done with pride but with ruthless aggression and an anger towards nature. The branches blew softly up above, blissfully unaware of the damage which had been done to their counterpart on the trunk way down beneath. Why someone would do such a thing was beyond any sort of normal rationality - perhaps they were disturbed. However, all he knew is that the word "Soudesu" engraved into that poor wood would live on forever. 

Foodman is set to release a new EP on the ever impressive Palto Flats record label, the New York City based imprint responsible for some of the most intriguing and thoughtful releases of recent years. This is no exception.
