They floated across the sky, dancing beneath the glow of the warm morning sunshine. From below he orchestrated their movement like some sort of fantastic cloud manager. He named each one, outlining each shape and watching as the shadows wandered atop the hillside beneath each fluffy white orb.

The breeze was soft and gentle as he sat perched atop the hillside breathing in the warm, hazy country air. All the while the world kept spinning whilst he was still and watchful, happy up there. 

Fantastic Man is the first artist to grace a new conceptual record label launched as a collaboration between Love International and Test Pressing. The EP features a collection of balearic, digi dub inspired electronics purpose built for the sunrise.

Tornado Wallace Presents - Sea Translation (5:40)

Newcastle-based DJ and producer Edmondson’s latest offering on Lissoms is packed to the rafters with groovy bass lines and stripped back fun. The four tracker blends his signature sounds with that of some sampled jazz elements that work, oh so well. Our premiere for today is the glow mix of Y2K. Floating pads provide a mellow base for airy whispers and an enveloping melody that swirls around the listener. All while being poked and prodded along by the snappy, upbeat percussion. A proper cosmic groove if you will.

The words that she spoke were soft and beautiful - they rolled off the tongue and seemed to echo upon the breeze before fading into the silence of the night which surrounded them. 

There was magic in the air as they sat beside the fire, looking out upon a world they'd never imagined might be out there. This was very different from home, far removed from the hustle of the city streets and the strife of work. 

Out here they could be fully as themselves, attached to the plants and wild things which grew here in a way that did not make sense but felt warm and kind. This was a purple world...

When this one hit the inbox we were all quite excited. Genius of Time are one of our favourite duos and the pair have been quiet in recent times. This is their first release for a few years and it demonstrates just how magnificent they are when it comes to building mystical euphoria through melodies, samples and drums.

This is the third track from the EP which is forthcoming on Oath, we suggest you play it loud.

On his fourth EP, Tim Crombie aka A Psychic Yes invites us to follow him off the beaten track – or dancefloor. With their mix of leftfield grooves, intuitive instrumentation and dreamlike field recordings, these cuts apply club principles to the soundscape of a distant yet familiar world. A bus radio clamours in a terminus in South India. Industrious algorithms go about their daily routines. PREMIERE: A Psychic Yes - Blood Moon [Nummer Music]

There were strange etchings and markings engraved in the old wooden door. This was the entrance to a world of mystery and intrigue, beyond the crooked walls and behind the fragmented brickwork lay many secrets and stories from a lifetime on planet earth. Some called it a library but to him it was more than that, it was a portal in which to step back in time.

This place lay empty now, replaced by the far more amenable technology which had swallowed them all. Few frequented this old place but those who did knew the true value and meaning of the knowledge it housed.

One day it might be gone but for now, just for a little while longer, it remained here to tell the stories and the tales of the past.


 
G.E.O Corp releases two new tracks, a dreamy, dubby, leftfield EP which leaves us wanting more. The whole nature of this release reminds us of the early 2000’s, when mysterious white labels lurked in dusty shelves and the world seemed so promising and bright. There’s a poignant sense of melancholy here, perfectly poised.

Seb Wildblood invites SOS Music co-founder Maddy Maia to mark her debut solo EP on All My Thoughts. An introspective record for the dance floor, fuelled by her journey through a challenging music industry. 

The London born / LA based DJ/producer, radio host, label owner, event curator and A&R has dedicated a decade to nourishing artists with a focus on female and gender minorities, elevating new talent through her mostly female DJ sets and radio shows on Worldwide FM & DUBLAB, and most notably of late via the SOS Music (Sisters Of Sound) imprint and curated events series of which she co-founded with DJ Tottie in 2019. ‘With U’ is a full circle story of a dedicated tastemaker reflecting on her contribution to the community.

Sonically, title track ‘With U’ is a nod to seminal oldskool genres that Maddy grew up on, breaks, drum n bass and rave. “I love that this element is back in dance music again!”she explains. ‘Fembot Fashion’ represents the music you’d expect to hear throughout a Maddy Maia DJ set; it's seductive and fresh. The EP doesn’t just represent Maddy’s sonic palette though, it’s a breakthrough in confidence and culmination of charged emotions. 

Maddy Maia - “After being behind the scenes for so long working in A&R - which has been a difficult journey at times - I’m finally feeling confident enough to put my own music out there . It was a very different landscape when I started my career in music. I was so scared of producing, thinking I needed loads of gear I couldn’t afford and spent a long time with imposter syndrome intimidated by the scene. All reinforced by the environment around me being fairly toxic in my early days working in music, a reason clearly driving my work with SOS Music. A lot of emotion has come out in these tracks. They’re my love letters to the dancefloor (dancing has always been intense therapy and probably one of the reasons I was drawn to club culture in the first place) but also the soundtrack to a charged snapshot in history. I made Fembot Fashion when we got the Roe vs. Wade news in the USA and at that moment all our work on championing diversity with SOS Music and throughout my time in the industry just suddenly felt pointless. I was so angry, and happened to have a weekend to myself so I sat in my little studio in East LA and channeled some of that fierce energy I was feeling into this track.
