Techno has many faces and this compilation shows but some of them.
STAUB has always been about the unknown and about diversity: newcomers come on stage after old-timers, peak time happens anytime. Line-ups are not announced. The rules of the game are blurred.

For our next ARBEITcast episode, we are happy to welcome Vienna-based DJ and producer, Julo.

Julo's journey began around seven years ago with hip-hop beats and track production. As hip-hop became more commercialized, he began to question his own values and shifted towards the underground electronic scene. After moving to Vienna, where he still lives, he co-founded "Initiative21" with six other members. Today, they are a staple of Vienna’s club scene, hosting regular events and raves. Besides regular club events and raves, they often take over vacant, unused spaces, transforming and repurposing them to create more room for art and subculture. In a short amount of time, their consistent work on awareness has also become well-established.

Julo’s sets are all about making music accessible and experiential. He sees DJing as a way to introduce people to new rhythms and soundscapes while keeping a connection to the familiar.

His current serving blends organic rhythms with industrial vibes, creating a sonic journey through nature. Make sure to tune in for this one!

STAUB is a project that came to life in Berlin around 2013. It aimed to detach itself from the hype and business from techno. The idea was simply to not announce a lineup and treat everyone the same without separating headliners from the rest. This strictly equalitarian but also very familial and friendly concept allowed to give chances to newcomers on a regular basis and to build a tight-knit community.

As time passed it also became an outlet to release music staying true to these ethos. Everyone is paid the same, doesn't matter who you are, it's all about music and respect. 

It has somewhat become customary to have a record ready to celebrate its birthday. As STAUB turns seven, STAUB's fifth installment  (STAUB 5 / IRIS007) will be available at „STAUB - 7 YEAR“ Event at :// about blank.
