Luca Averna and Ale Doretto are two Venezians living in Ibiza that aim to capture the true musical spirit of the island under their Residentes Balearicos guise. Often collaborating with Chris Coco, Luca and Ale maintain the breezy and free energy so synonymous with the White Isle through their polished productions, deftly moving between languid beach side chillers to intoxicating house music. With two superb outings on Kenneth Bager’s Music For Dreams label, the pair now make an offering on Joe Morris’ nascent Shades Of Sound imprint with the Postales EP.

‘Noche De Verano’ captures the mid to late Eighties Balearic flavour to a tee; chunky drums and big snares, children chanting, heavenly keys and wistful flutes all combine to create that perfect alfresco dancing moment. ‘Soleada’ slows the pace for an early evening ride, with a Larry Heard style deep house groove. Gentle keys and male vocal motifs melt over pulsing arps and gated pads.

Joe Morris flips the energy with his Soleada remixes, creating an Italian dream house inspired take on his Halcyon mix and a blissed out breakbeat version with the Twilight mix. Camilo Miranda twists Noche De Verano into a warm up club cut, respectfully keeping the original tone and adding a subtle italo-disco bass riff and synth stabs,

This is a release perfect for the on-coming warmer months; five tracks designed for dancing under the sun and stars alike where finally we will once again come together with our friends to experience life and music x.

Following up on his collaborative Ep "Middle Of The Road  Less Travelled" with Michal Turtle, HOVE is back with another solo EP on his imprint Light of Other Days. The ﬁve breezy and balearic-tinged tracks were recorded and produced in HOVE’s home studio in Zurich between December 2018 and June 2019.  On "In Motion" HOVE’s sound evolves from drifting and dreamy ambiences into tape-saturated mid-tempo bumpers  right back into shimmering chords, spiked with echoing guitars  and ﬁeld-recordings. As with its predecessors, he interweaves organic sounds with seductive rhythms and percolated ambient pads into a dense yet familiar HOVE sound. "In Motion"  is inspired by the pure feeling of listening to House, Synth-Pop,  Wave, Dub and New Age records. It is HOVE’s third solo EP  and his ﬁrst release of 2019.

“When the driver reaches ultimate speed, he realised the world as he knew it was morphing. The array of beams and city lights became waves of spectrum entering the quantum realms. The sizzling frequencies became rhythmic melodies and his body started to get lighter and lighter until he reached 0 gravity. This anamorphic world he entered was called The Drive.”
 
Entering the remix world for the first time, at Fauve Records, it was important to create a panoply of genres. We thoroughly selected 4 remixers for The Drive [Re-Mix] EP. 
 
On duty first is Lauer (Running Back) from Germany who needs no introduction. To our eyes, his recognisable touch was perfectly fitted for the title track “The Drive”, nostalgia was the approach, long build-ups bringing you into a melancholic trance.
 
Number two is our long time favourite local Hong Kong producer who also needs no introduction, Mr Ho (Klasse Wrecks). His approach of “Ke Ai” is a murky old school raw beat goodness, using short snippets of the original to re-create a club heater that will guarantee sweaty walls in warehouses.
 
We’re not done with you yet, our third guest, two fellas from L.A. known as Warehouse Project Society that recently released on DJ Harvey’s Mercury Rising. This duo has been on our radar for quite some time and we knew they would reinterpret “Fray” perfectly. Long and behold, mesmerising atmospheres, dub grooves and a specific dark touch that can only be perfectly executed by these maestros.
 
Last but not least, our up and coming favourite young Singaporean producer Bongomann (Darker Than Wax). We highly recommend following this little chap. His signature style being airy house breaks, he was the best bloke to remix “Air House”. His soft broken beat 90’s feel englobes the whole track lifting you up on a little cloud all the way. 
 
We want to thank from the bottom of our hearts every one involved in this release as it holds a special place in our story as our first Remix EP.

Ranging from not ordinary house and techno, deep space and driving electro, pounding or sophisticated acid bangers to soundtracks and exerimental electronics and contemporary classical. When he plays in a club, Yash tries to get the crowd moving and entertained. His arsenal are driven bangers, but also non-ordinary experimental dancing tracks which keeps the crowd on their toes and out of their comfort zone. The amazon-naut is Bep Kororoti's second album, the LP arrives at Modern Obscure Music after his mid-2020 release “Love is the way", an EP in collaboration with African singer Akin that aimed to be one of the hits of the summer when the first restrictions were announced during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Clubs and festivals from half of the planet had to cancel plans for the rest of the year.

This second album inspired by the ancient space warrior who brought joy and new knowledge to this little community from the Amazon river is composed of clear ethnic influences, loaded with minimalist rhythms and fragments of film sequences. The LP goes hand in hand with the reinterpretation of the Brazilian Koyapos tribe myth by Marcio Matos, a visual artist in charge of giving face and image to the mesmerizing Portuguese label Principe Discos since its inception.
