Yoba makes a powerful debut on Sous-Vide Records with SVRSR021 that effortlessly blends deep, hypnotic, and atmospheric elements. The tracks are driven by a cycling, rolling groove that locks in the listener from start to finish. Opening with 'Levitate,' a collaboration with Spiri:tual, the EP sets a mood of subtle tension and release, building through layers of intellectual sound design. 'Brume' and 'Origins' continue the journey with rich pads and intricate rhythms, immersing you deeper into Yoba's world. UserUNKNWN's remix of 'Levitate' brings a fresh, dynamic twist, rounding off this meticulously crafted EP.

PREMIERE: Yoba - Origins [SVRSR021]

Hot on the heels of releases from Otik and Benjamin Muñoz, UK label @pushandrun's next EP comes courtesy of London producer and bootleg king @haganuk. While he's been a little quiet recently - his last release was the 'Lockdown' EP on Beat Werk back in Jan 2016 - we're told he's spent the time honing his sound and focusing on why he started making music in the first place, and yeah, it totally shows. Heading towards a more stripped-down, groove-focused sound, 'Roots' draws on global sounds such as afrobeat, baile funk and gqom as well as UK flavours like funky and grime.

The EP has already been receiving major support from the likes of Gilles Peterson and Toddla T, and we've got the premiere of killer closing track 'Aburi' - all throbbing bass and rattling drums, but with a precision and focus that marks it out as Hagan's best work yet.

Glasgow based production duo VARDI and Rory Comerford team up as Zazim Soundsystem to share their incredible new EP ‘AYÉ’, which means “Life” in Yoruba and “Yes” in Scots. Opening with the lush soundscapes of ‘AYEE’, the three-track project expertly combines UK bass, Latin and West African percussion along with traditional Celtic music to create a sound unlike anything else.

Rastronaut is a Lisbon-based DJ and producer with a special taste for the bass-heavy side of global club music. His love for the sounds of the UK underground, brought together with the rhythms of the global south, inspire his original productions and high-powered DJ sets which can be regularly heard on Enchufada club nights and releases. 

His sets are built to inspire some serious dance floor perspiration, as is proven by his explosive Boiler Room performance, as well as numerous appearances on festival stages such as Nuits Sonores, NOS Alive or Paredes de Coura to name only a few.

THEMMIX002: Rastronaut

We can hardly believe it ourselves, but our little label just turned fifteen. In human terms it would mean we´re teenagers in full swing, in dance music terms it´s like we´re silver agers. In the fast paced world of dance we´ve seen a lot of trends come and go. We´ve also seen artist careers rising quickly to the top and then suddenly crumbling. And despite the profound changes in the musical landscape, we´re still here and people still play our music. One of the reasons is that we stuck to our original aim: To release exciting music from around the world. And the interest in local music styles from outside the Anglo-Saxon cultural sphere has risen.

Since Man 01, the "Não Wave - Brazilian Post Punk 1979-1988" compilation, we were especially keen on blending local roots with the global in music, which has become a mega trend in pop and dance music. When we started the label in 2005 the internet was still a privilige of the Northern hemisphere and people were still buying vinyls and CDs.

Since we can´t throw a big celebration for our anniversary due to pandemic restrictions, we decided to put together a compilation with remixes of fifteen tracks from our catalogue. We asked young and upcoming remixers that grew up with the Man Recordings sound over all these years, to put their hand onto selected tracks and rework them 2020 style. 

The line up is great and the remixes even greater. The "15 Years Of Man Recordings" compilation features reworks by Ckrono, Lorenzo BITW, 2Pekes, Rolv.K, Kensaye, KG, Don Low, Bianca Oblivion and So Vital amongst others. There´s some super fresh takes on our former releases, and some solid club compatible bangers. They all resonate that Man Recordings is here to stay!
