Kreuzberg Kix Vol. 1, the latest EP dropping courtesy of famed London-based label, Secretsundaze, is a blast of nostalgia for eclectic live-sets geared toward the dancefloor. Tapping recent signee, Ziggy Zeitgeist, this EP is a short, yet densely packed glimpse into this musician’s impressive groove-making skills. Ziggy is known for channeling his background in future-jazz experimentation as part of the Melbourne collective, 30/70, into breakbeat-inflected grooves via his group, the Zeitgeist Freedom Energy ExchangeB-track, “Kreuzberg Kix”, offers a more tribal, hard-hitting counterpoint to the melodic odyssey of opening track, “Something Special”. The track unfolds in a freeform, almost languid manner that echoes Ziggy’s jazz influences. Despite its looseness, the track never grows stale nor feels haphazard, as every element perfectly balances out one another. The deep bass and congas that open the track give it its pulsing rhythm and emulate its live-recording feel, while the spacey, sinewy keys provide a slightly cheeky, ever-funky rhythm. As the central melody of the groove presents itself, the track feels like it may be transitioning into something akin to a more traditional house or breakbeat number. But there’s a strain of unpredictability running throughout its veins, always keeping the listener on edge but never forsaking its primary M.O.––to provide fresh, inventive rhythms to get your body moving.

Felipe Gordon comes back to Toy Tonics. The Colombian musician, producer and DJ has been part of the TT label crew since 2017 when he released his debut "Teusaquillo EP". Since then Felipe has made a huge career. He made a second EP for Toy Tonics (Wait On Me, 2020) he now releases on labels such as Heist Recordings, Kai Alce’s NDATL, Clone Royal Oak, Phonica Records, Shall Not Fade and was featured on Cinthie’s DJ Kicks.

With his third  EP on Toy Tonics Felipe now takes a next big step in his artistic development.
He's been working for some months now on a new and organic path, a different way of vocal house. He started working with a talented young Colombian singer called “Bob The Egoist” AKA Daniel Pardo. Bob is a young Berklee degree student with a deep and emotional voice, an amazing knowledge about the classic soul and RnB and a clever and enthusiastic way of writing chord progressions, you will hear his name more often than you can imagine in the next coming months.

This new Felipe Gordon EP has a more organic driven feel, and is definitely a vocal house record. With a lot of classic 1990's house feel, but still not sounding retro at all. It has a slight futuristic feel. Besides the great vocal ideas the tracks are based on amazing chord progressions that remind the jazz-funk music from the early 1970's. Rhodes and clavinets, wah wahs and a nasty, soulful atmosphere. Felipe did some heavenly synth work, creating music with a deep yet funky character - always punchy and analog. Felipe’s production style seems to be exploring new grounds.

The music was recorded in 2 weeks only in December 2021. And probably that’s one of the reasons why these tracks don't sound over-produced. The instant, rolling feel gives the songs its special character.

Felipe has a European DJ tour coming from June till July so catch him somewhere near your city!

The light was fading slowly in the distance, an orange sky was all that was left to illuminate the evening before darkness fell. They sat perched atop the hillside, looking out over the water down below and wondered if there might ever be a moment as special and peaceful as this again.

Perhaps it was the feeling of her hand in his, perhaps it was the way in which she smiled and leant her head upon his shoulder. He felt as if he might never be so warm inside again. It were as if god himself had looked down from the heavens above as if to say “I see you”…

Finally the sun drifted beyond the horizon and the wind began to blow softly as the first breath of night loomed in. With her, he was not afraid of the dark.

Henrik Villard releases a new EP on True Romance, a beautiful record which tugs at the heartstrings leaving us all nostalgic for the summer which has just passed. It’s hard to create music which sparks such emotions, a rare treat.

Toy Tonics discovered Kosmo Kint 3 years ago when looking for a singer to work with. Kosmo is a Soul vocalist raised in New York. He lives in Berlin since a few years, after studying Opera singing in Vienna, and was looking for the right crew to hook up in Berlin. Toy Tonics was perfect. Now, After 4 collaborations on songs of different Toy Tonics artists (Kapote, Rhode & Brown, Mangabey, Sam Ruffilo) Kosmo is ready for an solo album.
