A fragile stream of reflections that flows through silence and memory, where the wind transforms into breath and crystal into rivers of sound. Each piece floats among shadows, signs, and collapsing skies, weaving lanterns and halos into a delicate current that carries what time could not erase.

Leeds trio Joe Gill, Heidi Armitage and Tim Hutton aka Tzamsutsi opening new eclectic Various Lurkers 04 compilation on Space Ritual Records.
If you listen hard enough between the kicks and the high hats and the acid lines and the analogue synths you can hear a micro moment of silence, you could hear a psychedelic frogs.
Although Psychedelic Frogs Are Ok is a mid tempo track, it burns the senses every bit as well as much as any track you would hear at 5am. A heavy acid line plays out while punctuated by trippy tribal cowbell which seep in and out of the track.
All the while heady drums dance alongside fx ridden backwards bass lines among acid guitar parts, either way this will be a nice addition to the catalogue of an artist who will allow you to do anything except hear a psychedelic frogs singing.

PREMIERE #832 | Zmatsutsi - Psychedelic Frogs Are Ok [Space Ritual] 2020

If you translate Jokios Kultūros into English, you will get the abstract term "uncultured". Dovydas Platakis is a DJ and producer representing the underground layers of Tauragė – a small city in the West of Lithuania. To honour his pseudonym, he delivers his vision of music in a chaotic, uncultured way, mixing different genres and styles. Old school hip-hop lover, he started to produce a long time ago, mostly sending his demos and promos only to his friends and now – to the delight of music lovers all over the world – finally going into deeper waters.

“Streets EP” is JK’s second release on the still-young Vilnius-based label Electric Shapes and also a continuation of his previous “Ghetto Deal”. Like its predecessor, it continues to hook us up with ghetto/hood material, a touch of old school hip hop, breakbeat rhythms and classic sounds. The track we chose to premiere, “Raw Streets”, depicts a harsh criticism against the harassment people suffer from stupid and imbecile cops (we f*cking hate these scumbags) due to their skin colour and/or foreign origin.

He looked at her photo and saw her the way he remembered her forever - smiling as if it were the first time, like the first person who woke up on the first morning after creating the universe and saw the newly created world in which everything starts from the zero meridian and there are no mobile phones, no pollution of the seas, no Covid virus, no racial wars and police. It was the smile of a person who didn't know disappointment and hatred, envy and betrayal.
He remembered well the day when he saw her for the last time, and understood well that their meridians would never intersect again.
Not each unreleased track eventually gets released. Vilnus based Electric Shapes imprint went through the archives of its friends and uncovered some gems. 8 mixes compilation includes names such as:

Cult Glaswegian post punk outfit Junto Club return to Snap, Crackle & Pop with their second release for the label. Known in some cirlces as your favourite DJ’s favourite band you’ve never heard of, they follow up appearances at the late Andrew Weatherall’s Convenanza festival and releases on Optimo.
The Alameda EP finds the Junto Club expanding on the sound that has come to define the band, which is to say sparse electronics and percussive post punk underscoring David Wilson’s haunting
suicide inspired vocals. On this EP the synths and drum machines take centre stage pulling their sound from the shadows and firmly onto the dancefloor, wasting no time with opening track Hercules’ 11 minute electro onslaught, taking cues from the likes of Ladytron, New Order and Fischerspooner.
On the flip, enigmatic new producer Fall Forward delivers an overdriven, rave tinted remix of Hercules that breathlessly strobes through distorted Junos on a peaktime trip. For the final track
longtime SC&P collaborator Curses delivers a punishing physical remix of Alone that is delves deep into the harder side of his techno tendencies and is sure to be assaulting the darkest of dancefloors once the clubs reopen.

ИДА welcomes diverse release from Moonoton. First original track ‘Max Bleep’ serves funky breakbeat combined with voodoo tribe vocals resulting in wonky dancefloor killer. 

Maruwa adds signature breaks with an aerial atmosphere and pushes up the tempo on the first track, raising up the energy while keeping the dreamy vibe in excellent balance.

On the second original Moonoton explores another direction delivering ‘Frau’ — tough Italo track with intransigent vocals, catchy bassline and sharp evolving synths — perfect choice to turn gloomy mood into cutting edge energy.

Facets makes it even further rough inflating the low frequency spectrum, adding sequences and somber feel to push the track into the EBM zone.

The street outside felt eerily quiet, an unfamiliar occurrence in this central part of town. Where families normally dined on alfresco tables and friends huddled together chain-smoking cigarettes, there was nothing, nobody, not even one straggler finding their way home. She watched from her window with unease, she'd got used to the howling laughter and drunken chatter that preceded sundown, it made her feel safe and happy. Without it there was only fear. 

Comprised of Nordpath co-founders, V4NT4BL4CK Marie Hoffman and Tidiane Cacique of Leave Things, Hyper Opal is a collaborative project that explores the realms of post-rock and electronic pop. Following their debut EP BLACK MILK last year, they deliver their debut album A Light Speed for Swiss imprint Blizzard Audio Club. Matching Hoffman's moody vocals with Cacique's eerie rhythms, over the LP's seven tracks the pair seek to explore "a dialog between the human-made messiness that spreads out and the will to be naive, playful, and having no script."

Bulletdodge Records continues to explore its exciting new musical direction with a split EP of experimental electronics from Jan Cree and Suna Path that also comes backed with remixes from Gonjasufi and Roedelius.

Jan Cree and Suna Path have been producing independently for more than a decade across various labels such as Stereofly, WiN Recordings, Rawax and Bulletdodge Records. Their music has always been fresh and innovative and has explored a wide array of niches across the electronic spectrum, always with an experimental and forward looking edge. This continues with their thrilling new tracks here on Scottish based imprint Bulletdodge Records following various tracks and releases from Robert Hood, Plaid, Adamski, The Mad Professor and Carl Cox plus more.

Cree kicks off with 'Escape', a sludgy and hypnotic deep techno cut with freaky vocals and twisted synths burrowing ever deeper. San Diego hip hop head, Warp album artist and yoga teacher Gonjasufi then steps up to remix with his distinctive brand of beat making. He rips the track apart and rebuilds it as a tortured electronic
soundscape of busted beats and manic beeps, paranoid vocals and pure musical tension. Suna Path then comes correct with 'Ondine,' an ambient piece with lo-fi chords drifting over a pained synth while flickering human vocals appear and disappear before your very ears. Remixer Roedelius is a cult German electronic musician and composer best known as co-founder of the influential krautrock groups Cluster and Harmonia, and for his work in the ambient jazz trio Aquarello and collaboration with Brian Eno. His take is one that floats you in a celestial sky amongst harmonic pads and shimmering vocal tones and leaves you in awe. 'The Secret' is an airy track of skipping kick drums and off grid chords that light up the airwaves next to scuttling found sound details. 'Blood Moon' is a jazzy techno tune with live sounding drums and more exquisite harmonies that ride up and down the scale in dynamic fashion and 'Path Of The Monk 
closes out with a tense and suggestive ambient soundtrack that is straight from the cosmos.
