With a style reminiscent of iconic IDM and, more specifically, the vintage years of Rephlex Records, ‘Untitled’ is an eight minute opus, utilising a variety of hissed-out samples and compositional flourishes to well and truly encapsulate a days-gone-by era of dance music. We’re treated to some genuinely euphoric breaks and crunching acid squelches when the central groove really gets underway, the combination of which really does evoke a track that could have easily been around for twenty years or more. Boding well for the rest of the imminent release, ‘Untitled’ certainly marks @low-tape as one to watch for the future.

When he rose from his slumber the daylight hurt his weary eyes. Early in the mornin' he would begin his day, rise and leap forth with ambiguity and ambition. He dreamt of a day in which he would not need to wake and enter the mist of outside, but it was not to be today, tomorrow or the next. The cold air blew fiercely against his skin on the long walk to work. He checked his watch and proceeded to up his pace in order to catch the train. The demons would not find him this day.

Across three reflective and cosmic originals, producer Parks Perdue unleashes an array of extra-lush pads, and deeply melancholic acid bass. Sci-fi atmospheres and nods to classic rave and electro squeeze their way into bricked waveforms… rough but not too rough distortion… and a hard hitting but bubbly remix by Belgian producer Innershades rounds out the 12”, solidifying it’s direct and inspirational intent.
