For its fourth release, Harry Agius aka Midland's Graded label has signed its first new act in the form of Montreal-based Solitary Dancer. With ‘Desire & Apathy’ being instantly familiar to anyone who heard Midland's Essential Mix earlier this year— in which it subsequently proved to be a much asked about inclusion— this eponymously titled release marks the debut of Solitary Dancer, as well as Agius' second time stepping into the role of label A&R following Hubie Davidson's appearance on Graded's ‘Regraded' sub-label last year.

From the opening moments of the EP's title track it is apparent why Aguis welcomed this release to the label, with 'Desire & Apathy' highlighting Solitary Dancer's similarly shared talent for elegant, richly-sculpted sound design and a knack for propulsive club rhythms that eschew rigid 4x4 drum patterns. 'Desire & Apathy' takes a classic electro beat and through the use of elegaic pad washes and swells of sinister bass notes morphs it into persistently engaging shapes. 

The B-side's 'Paradise Found' is a suspenseful coralling of intriguing sonic elements, with its fractured beats combined with a cinematic sense of drama and melancholy that's brought to the fore on the beatless 'Rapture Version' which brings Solitary Dancer's first release to an impressive close.

The journey was awfully long. She watched the flickering lights pass by with a flash as the car moved purposefully along the motorway. In the distance she could see the towering presence of flats in the distance, they were nearing the city now. She had supposedly been taken here as a child but for the life of her she could not remember the visit. Now, some twenty years later she would return to the city to begin a new life. She leant into the warm leather interior of the car, sinking back and fell asleep.

Deep beneath the encrypted layers of security lay elusive material. These were the most restricted of folders under which only government access could allow entry. The state of the nation was left in a delicate balance based upon the content contained within. These were perilous times and the tension hung ominously in the air. 

Bauhaus is a newly formed record label from tel Aviv. The tracks have received early support from an array of big circuit dj's including Motor City Drum Ensemble who featured the following track back on his Worldwide FM show in June.

The race started quickly on the sound of the gunshot. The orange polyurethane on which he ran had never looked so beautiful as his feet moved quickly back and forth. In the distance he observed his comrade readying himself to sprint off into the distance, for this was a relay and not for one man to win. The team had been training for years for this moment and the roar of the crowd was almost overwhelming. Never had they expected they would get this far. 

Factory Floor are remixed on the "2525+5" EP. Alongside two original tracks Charles Manier, Jlin and Klara Lewis have been recruited to provide alternate versions.

She licked her lips provocatively as she stared him up and down. In the distance there was music playing but the pair cared not for such ambience beneath the glow of the moonlight. Before them the waves rolled gracefully upon the dusty sand, the palm trees blowing delicately in the warm air. The sky was a bitter shade of black, the stars faintly visible behind the gloomy clouds. This was not some sort of peaceful paradise but a stormy romance on an island lost.

The gang were eager with anticipation. They hung in the car park behind the back of the shopping mall, sat perched upon trolleys and dirt. Cars stayed well clear of the patch, they knew that if they were to cross paths with 'la cosa nostra' then they may well live to regret it. The leader of the pack, a tall tanned gentleman stood several feet away chain smoking cigarettes whilst surveying what lay before.

The quiet sense of sadness had been all consuming for so very long. He had struggled to break free from its devious clutches for many years, sometimes at war with himself and others blisteringly deafeated. Now though it felt as if a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders, darkness had begun to fade and daylight had emerged from beyond the horizon. He had dreamed that this day would come for a lifetime.

@Nocta-Numerica is an independent music label with an eclectic taste spanning Electro, Disco, Italo and Acid Music. Their latest release sees them turn to Electro with 'Somnus Ambulo' , a 4-Track EP by the mysterious Russian producer PQ17 (@PlatoonQuick). The EP will be out on October 8th and available in digital and vinyl on all the usual platforms ! Limited edition of 300.

Our pick of the release, was the title trac which is filled with breaks, heavy bass and an infectious rhythm.

"In the cool of the heat" is supposed to be a snapshot of the corner where bad pupils such as electronic beats annoy good pupils like funk and groove.
What is arising from this ? A mix between warm human feelings and rhythm given by the machines. This compilation gathers works of different artists from various music background who helped to keep mr Godot Rising.

For Uncanny Valley's 50th catalogue number called Valley 50: Green the label from Florence on the Elbe known as Dresden invited as many as four artists to contribute musical pieces to make the EP musically as colorful as the label and its philosophy – uniting like minded people on their label/ platform. The fifth color, Green, thus features music from Perm, Dispo 5000, cvbox and Iron Curtis. The latter, a Berliner by choice, comes up with Against My Window (Dazed Mix) a track with a determined groove that easily sucks its audience into its musical adaptation beforethe techno-ish meaningful mind sucker carries you far away from every day troubles right onto the dance floor to dance the aforementioned away. Against My Window (Dazed Mix) is one of these timeless almost classy takes that dancers and DJs equally connect with a night in one of these electronic music temples as it simply covers and captures this unique dark yet dreamy vibe.
