Henzo, an artist of ever shifting momentum, has demonstrated his skills on this EP with ease and it is sure to get you grooving to a cold shouldered chug all autumn. 
‘Iron Lighter’ features four sturdy constructed tracks criss-crossed with a heady mix of club influences, as well as encompassing a ferromagnetic remix by Mosca. This whole EP is comfortably sailing in Henzo’s signature style - dancehall indebted slow burners with a touch of distress and drama for good measure - and swagger.

I’m Not Precious (Over What You Call It) moves things to a higher frequency with an opening synth sounding like some beautifully harmonious vocal hit from another plane.

For this 187th Premiere of 2025, we have a track by Brazil's Marcela Dias Sindaco titled ‘Canção de ninar’ from her forthcoming LP "Electro Tropical" on the label located in Oklahoma City (USA) : Fixed Rhythms.

Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Marcela Dias Sindaco is formerly a classical piano and cello player. With early musical influences drawing from experimental German groups like Popol Vuh, Tangerine Dream, and Cluster, her electro productions encapsulate more than one sound palette.

For Marcela Dias Sindaco’s third release on the Oklahoma City label Fixed Rhythms, she delivers a full-length 2xLP of her characteristically magical electro. These songs were recorded in various studios across Brazil, capturing the intangibles of Brazilian city life. You can hear her influences (Detroit techno, kosmische synth travel, electro, etc.), but she distills it all yet again into something completely her own. Whenever you listen to her music, you know it’s her. Hypnotizing electro made on warm machines with her sung/spoken Portuguese woven enchantedly throughout…truly sublime listening. This is a 16 track groove journey that will make you a Marcela fan if you aren’t already one.

The two black 12”s come housed in a beautiful jacket that offers you a glimpse into Marcela’s world. The background of the artwork on the backside features a wallpaper design that you may find in an old home in Brazil. Inside is an insert written by Italian curator and philosopher Massimo Torrigiani. Only 300 copies pressed…don’t sleep on this one.

As with most things in an increasingly digital age, a time would come when it was time to bid goodbye to the past and make way for the new. The landscape had changed and it was imperative that the cities and towns kept up with these evolving technologies. Entering the train stations, much had changed. Gone were the rickety, rusting carriages, and in their place stood new electric trains, itching to cart you safely from point A to point B. 

For their fourth release, following EPs from Yuki Ame and Phossa as well as a charitable V/A during lockdown, London-based imprint Panel Audio welcome Sydney duo JV & Palf to the family. Named after their local train line, T4, the EP presents four club-driven tracks rife with energy-fuelled drum patterns and UK Techno influences.

Across expansive dunes, endless footsteps mark the ancestral path, leading the way to the basilica of the Bedouin. A pilgrimage only taken every seventy years, their single living leader the slowest of the camp. Beneath the unforgiving Saharan sun, the only moisture for miles is the sweat which now evaporates from their skin like mist, clothes sticking to every crevice of the body. The nature of the journey is one of spirit; no room for cynicism when higher powers lead the charge.

Out on London-based Panel Audio, the label’s latest comes in the form of a remix release of their latest release, JV & Palf’s T4 EP. Across the four remixed tracks, each artist adds their own style to an already eclectic mix of originals. From more ominous ends of the techno spectrum to minimal dubstep, the release has something for everybody. Our pick is Pluralist’s take on ‘En Route’, a mirage of a track seething with Middle-Eastern promise, with syncopated drum fills and vocal samples littered throughout.

Each artist has taken a different track from the EP, displaying a unique approach to the original sound and from each other's ideas.
