The Royal Game

The streets were alive and well with strife and trouble. The tribes ran riot into the midnight hour and caused chaos upon the boulevards. The empty alleyways became hotbeds of violence and hatred based upon territory and towerblocks. There was no rallying cry or roar of the siren as the police had long since left this town, now it was simply vagabonds and rogues who cast a spell of bitter rebellion upon young, impressionable sorts and innocent men caught in between the cracks. 

JAKAM appears on a new split EP for Lyon based record label and friends of Ransom Note, Hard Fist. He features alongside the likes of our own Timothy Clerkin, Shadi Khries and more.

Earlier this year, @c_a_r aka Chloé Raunet’s second album 'PINNED' was released to huge acclaim from the likes of DJ Mag, Resident Advisor and Trax Magazine.

The first of two multifaceted remix EPs out later this month, 'PINNED Up' realises the powerful dancefloor potential of Raunet's material and features contributions from the likes of Marcus Worgull, Bawrut and Lokier. @michael-mayer-kompakt heads up the release with a remix that unleashes the latent kinetic energy and emotive power of original album closer 'This City'. It went down an absolute storm when he dropped it at fabric the other month, and now you can listen to it above.

PREMIERE: C.A.R. - This City (Michael Mayer Remix)

There was a beautiful dessert sat placed atop the kitchen table, awaiting the diners to return to the room and embrace it with awe and might. A magma pie of the tallest order, a delicious treat which would leave them full for many days to come in the future. The room was dimly lit by candles and the environment rustic and humble, this was not a zealous feast but a polite meal. The baroque castle had become their home, a pretty kingdom with a wise old story. 

Wrong Water is the alias of St Petersburg based musician Eugenii Fadeev. He has previously released on the Glaswegian label 12th Isle and has received praise for his take on eclectic electronics. Now he turns his attention towards Kiev based label Muscut, an imprint to watch.

There was a sense of happiness which travelled across the great square as people began to realise the circumstances which were set to unfold before their eyes. The toppling of a regime was no small feat, the king was dead and the revolution had one. No more drama, no more war... The time was now for celebration and prosperity amidst a new era in which strife and poverty was to be no more. The people danced in euphoric celebration and rejoiced together. 

Dj Senior Vasquez releases four purpose built club belters. Let's not beat around the bush here. Perhaps better known as Photonz he returns to the Paraiso imprint with a brand new bang for your buck.

Well, the Düsseldorf duo are back with the brand new 'Lights, Camera, Acid' EP, and we're happy to announce that their talent for crafting earth-shattering dancefloor bombs remains intact. We're happy to be premiering the flip today, which finds Hardfloor ploughing more of a twitchy electro furrow.

The darkened skies cast a shadow of sadness across the city as the festival of wonder drew to an exciting close. In the distance the sound of thunder could be heard rumbling loudly over the hills, occasionally a flash of light would burst through the countryside and illuminate the darkness for a split second before vanishing once more. The clouds were the creators of rain, the dancers of the sky were casting shapes and throwing their distorted spells into the open space. 

Keshavara is set to release a new EP on FILM, a vocal escapade with a deep melodic tale beneath. It is then remixed by none other than Legowelt, a man who needs no introduction.

PREMIERE: Club Bizarre - Cyborg [Days Of Being Wild]

The collaboration with Modular Project continues in 2019 with the release of 'Vivid Poison', their new single.
Alberto Iovine and Alessandro Fumagalli started to work together in 2015, joined by a strong love for music and vintage synths, and now they are running their own record label Nothing Is Real, spreading their music in Italy and around Europe.

Their electronic style is influenced by new wave and 80’s sound fusing powerful drums, pulsating synths for an emotional impact. ‘Vivid Poison' is the perfect example of this mixture.
Originally conceived after a jamming in the studio, after listening to a lot of Italo disco music, the song comes to life thanks to the collaboration with the artist Eleonora Zaripova.
The Russian-Tartarian artist now living in Berlin has a classical music education and jazz-experience. Her beautiful voice transmits fragility and strength, melancholy and soul, and fit perfectly with the music produced by Alberto and Alex, taking us back in time.

The release also includes two valuable remixes. After her debut on Rebirth in 2017 Perel is back on the label with two strong remixes combining the original vocals with her unique 90’s synth pop sound.
Tel Aviv artist Nadav Spiegel aka Autarkic, follows his productions on Disco Halal, Golf Channel and Turbo with a powerful remix, injecting his modern Israeli vibe, filthy, intensive yet emotional.

Biography, by Luis Costa: Of Hispanic / Chilean origin, he has been a compulsive digger of vinyl since 1997, dj, promoter and editor / Of Spanish / based in Berlin / vinyl activist since 1997 / Electric Selectors / United Colors Of Rhythm / Musical critic on Dj Mag and MIxmag.

In 2000 he moved to Barcelona, where he discovered clubs such as Nitsa, Razzmatazz and later BeCool, spaces where he absorbed club culture, awakening a deep investigation of rhythms from the past and drawing a path towards the figure of the dj as a multidisciplinary artist and rich in sound diversity. During this period, until 2009, he looked for a more personal sound in the electronics approaching musical fields like: Disco, Leftfield, Slow techno, Idm, New Wave, Ebm or Electro. Currently, the sound he exhibits walks with the idea of connecting the roots of black music with contemporary sound.

After almost 20 years of musical experience, he is now considered one of the artists with the greatest national projection. He is half of the Electric Selectors project, events in which he is committed to promoting the young national talent and has recently become a member of United Colors Of Rhythm, label which is about to publish their first musical productions.

After a meteoric and exciting 2019, he has shared a booth with artists like Map.ache, Freudenthal, Pardon Moi, Paula Tape, John Tejada, Alejandro Paz, Serge Santiago, Alvaro Cabana, Ben Sims, Fernanda Arrau, Luis Costa, Gela o Jackwasfaster….

He has played his sets at clubs like Razzmatazz, Be Cool, Feinstoff (Berlin), Crack Bellmer (Berlin), Operator (Rotterdam), Rinse (Paris), Noa Noa (Santiago, Chile), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Florida 135, Row 14, Clubzoreks or Wonderday (Montpellier ) among many others.

This release is all about the arrogance that Generation Z radiates.
"Brainless heads" is a result of a Fake Ego that get's carried around. Dehumanized vocal loops in the track perfectly represent the picture of the empty heads.
The second track called "Generation Z" is a funny and absurd parody that reflects all the stereotypes of Generation Z. The lyrics are a remake of the old Lithuanian counting game-poem for kids. It is an allegory to the lack of real-life experience and young age.
Thinking to be the center of the world and having knowledge of everything, "I don't think so" is the most commonly heard phrase from Generation Z. Nevertheless this song is all catchy :)
„Fake Ego“ is a dark song full of various dirty synths, which embody the FAKE EGO, that our society is asking us for so much. Social Media makes it possible…
