Lost Connection Remixes: Long Island Sound’s debut album gets fresh treatment from some of the most exciting producers in electronic music. Cromby, Mor Elian, James Shinra and Benjamin Damage feature on Long Island Sound’s Signs of Space imprint.

The tracks on Lost Connection Remixes are stunning reinterpretations of three tracks from Lost Connection, the debut LP from Irish duo Long Island Sound. In 2022 the Dublin-based pair released their first full-length, Lost Connection, which received a stellar review from Resident Advisor, describing it as ‘Glorious, heart-tugging sunset techno’.

For Lost Connection Remixes, the duo have called upon a heavy roster to reimagine their cross-pollination of house, techno and trance-influenced sounds. The EP epitomizes the label’s diverse and expansive sound, reimagining the Dublin duo’s 2022 album in a whole new light.

Fellow Irishman Cromby opens the EP with his rolling and uplifting remix of Power. The track utilizes intricate percussion work and a chunky bassline on top of the original’s celestial pads and vocals, driving the track in a fresh direction.

Power also sees a remix from James Shinra. In his signature and inimitable style, Shinra reinterprets the track as a vast and multi-layered soundscape, creating an immersive and otherworldly atmosphere. He combines intermittent breakbeats, lush pads and complex riffs to create a euphoric, electro-leaning remix.

Mor Elian ups the pace and intensity of the EP with her remix of Dusk. Combining enormous low-end rumbles and syncopated percussion patterns with blissful pads and celestial choirs, Mor’s remix perfectly toes the line between tough and tender.

Benjamin Damage closes the EP with two propulsive techno interpretations of the 2022 album opener, Ataria. Gated vocals, rhythmic pads and flanging high-end percussion are used to build tension, culminating in moments of high-energy dance floor rapture. Damage’s Dub remix ditches the pads and vocals, placing the percussive elements center-stage, providing a stripped-back techno tool.

Lost Connection Remixes is due for full release on April 27th.

Dublin-born and bred Long Island Sound are known for their euphoric-yet-introspective take on electronic music, toeing the line between big emotion and big-room energy. Their music has been featured on Mixmag, DJ Mag and Resident Advisor, as well as Bicep’s mix series and Spotify playlist. Following the success of their debut LP and a sold-out launch party in Dublin’s Tengu, in 2022 the pair embarked on their Summer Irish festival tour, culminating in a standout set at All Together Now.

Our friends Kiara Scuro, the London-based duo made up of Rosie Ama and Nadia Harris, have built up a repertoire of spooky tracks over the last few years for the likes of fabric Originals, Ritmo Fatale and Accidental Meetings.

After hunkering down in the studio last year, they're now joining the Faux Poly family for their debut EP, Night Crush. Layering their own vocals with samples, the pair deliver three percussive, rolling club tools that draw inspiration from late, hazy nights spent together in the club; the place where their friendship blossomed.

The city was quiet in the warmth of the morning sun. It was the height of summer and soon the cafes on every street corner would be crowded with onlookers and tourists taking in the sights and sounds of this great, dense place. It was hot and dusty.

As he wandered from block to block, corner to corner, he could not help but think how about how grateful for his freedom he was. It had been long coming and well fought.

That was all that anyone ever wanted really, freedom. A place in which to be truly free.

Nesa Azadikhah is set to release an EP via tape on Kulture Galerie. The music is progressive in the sense that it channels futuristic elements of dance and club music culture. However, the message it promotes and the cause it rallies behind is equally so, with proceeds from the release going to support women prisoners in Iran.

From the outside it certainly didn't look like much.

It was just an empty building perched by the river. It didn't look like anything, it's hollow frame and the old tin roof was all that was keeping it standing but once upon a time it had been the home to nights which resonated through the ages. 

As the sun set, it was quiet on the banks of the river. Occasionally in the distance a car whizzed past, its lights illuminating the old bridge which connected the outback to the city. 

One day it might become a place in which people danced again. For now it sat waiting...

Guava holds no punches, contributing to a new compilation for the much acclaimed Warning label and party. This one is a progressive, fast paced cut for high energy dancefloors.

"I love models" is out now!

I really enjoyed the process of creating this track. It might not be a masterpiece, but it was crafted with a lot of dedication and authenticity — two values I’ve been embracing more and more as I grow as a producer.

The idea came after listening to a lot of DJ I Hate Models. I thought: “Well, I don’t hate models” — and that little twist became the starting point for this track. I aimed to capture a similar vibe, but with my own touch: a bassline that feels like a runway, an intense atmosphere, and that kind of energy that makes you feel like you’re strutting through your own world.

This is just the beginning, but I’m genuinely happy with the journey so far. Hope you enjoy it!
