Kim Ann Foxman takes care of the next release on her own Firehouse Recordings: an imprint focused on all corners of house music. Dripping with nostalgia and conjuring up feelings of being back in the rave, something we've been missing over the last year, the two originals on 'Connection' flaunt revving, hypnotic bass lines, soaring synths and enchanting vocal snippets. Both come complete with remixes from Klasse Wrecks' Luca Lozano and Optimo and Biologic producer Matisa.

Ma Spaventi is a wonderfully versatile artist. Over his decade-long career, the Italian musician has turned his capable hand to everything from ambient to techno. Once again, he is expanding his sound palette and challenging expectations with Vicino Lontano.

Across eight tracks, an array of ideas and influences are explored with additional guitar work coming care of Odeon’s Michele Righini. The reflective hues of “Solitario” give way to the warming strings and peaceful brightness of “Crepuscolo.” Written and produced in Amsterdam between 2017 and 2019, beautiful memories of the past are the source of inspiration. Radiating Summer sunshine bathes “Bring Me Back” in a comforting glow, while “Velvet Lights” teases rhythm sections with thick bass lines and shimmering synth work. Moments of introspection arrive in the elegant gliding forms of “Bomber” and “Intermezzo.” The rumbling “End Line” finds harmony amongst a spread of styles, cascading chords and rich textures, all combining beautifully. A moon rise closes, the grand curtain falls on “Bidderosa”,  calling time of this stunning collection.

Kalahari Oyster Cult, hot on the heels of the La Batterie reissue, are getting right back in your grills with Liluzu's 'What's Your Star Sign?' EP.
One of the highlight of the EP is the wonderful 'Arecca (Bubble Mix)'. A big warm bass gives you a big hug while odd little percs seem to jitter around impatiently waiting for the kick drums to hit. Once they do, a mid tempo breakbeat comes in accompanying a beefy verby acid sound which carries the track long after the drums stop. 
'Arecca' is a piece of spine tingling piece of electro which reaches all the right places courtesy of Liluzu, head of the Vulcan Venti imprint, and he keeps the sound sun kissed and full of warmth. We are not even a month in and Kalahari are already killing it. This is going to be a big year!
