La Mverte aka Alexander Berly has carved out a unique sonic niche since 2014. He attended the RBMA in Tokyo, has released on labels like Her Majesty's Ship, and explores everything from Italo to New Wave, industrial to dark disco, krautrock to synth-heavy acid. His singular sounds have taken him to gigs at the world's best clubs and
festivals and now, after a reflective time during the pandemic, he is back with a new label.
Excellent EP opener 'Nigredo' features Jean-Christophe Couderc from Vox Low providing sleazy vocals. It suggests a love of Detroit electro but reimagined through La Mverte's influences and machines, with angular drums and prickly synths lighting up the dance floor. With 'Albedo,' La Mverte offers an intense synth-wave sound with
dark and ghoulish vocals, raw drums and stark hits that demand you jerk your body. The final original 'Rubedo' nods to Belgium's New Beat movement. It has physical drums, soot-black synth work and edgy late-night energy that will blow minds in any warehouse space.
First remixer Javi Redondo is a regular on the Correspondant and Dischi Autunno labels. He offers a club-focused and motorik re-reading of 'Nigredo' designed to make you sweat. Greek EBM, rock and electronic fusionist Aggelos Baltas aka Anatolian Weapons also offers a brilliant version of 'Albedo.' It is tinged with slowed-down trance of the sort that Vladimir Ivkovic might drop in the dead of night at Salon des Amateurs. With Alchemy Calls, La Mverte continues to push himself and his sounds forwards into fresh new territory.

After releasing the Last Train To Marzahn EP in 2016, I’m a Cliché boss Cosmo Vitelli is back with the label’s first release of 2017, CLICHÉ066.

The Cemetery of Unsigned House Tracks
Clocking at 9 minutes, don’t get fooled by the track’s tongue-in-cheek title, we’re dealing here with a seriously epic tune. Set in an endlessly rising motion, the track begins with a refined but twisted vibe, sparse but ominous guitars and plenty of FX. Gradually, an infectious synth arpeggio rises and carries with it the whole track, some sort of hypnotic and sensual monster, utterly irresistible on the dancefloor.

El Si Señor (Skinny version)
If you think this track is just a tool, then you’re only getting half of the picture. Skinny but chock-full of melodic and percussive content with a plodding rhythmic section moving at around 105 BPM. This is a downtempo track where heartfelt melodies, sound effects, and pristine seamless arrangements are used with great results by Cosmo Vitelli.

When Suddenly : Acid
With Cosmo Vitelli’s trademark style being eclectism, it’s pointless to pin down this track to a specific genre. Borrowing from the kind of disco not disco and acid-without-303 vibes that I’m a Cliché is famous for, this is an instantly gratifying tune where synthesizers are engaged in call and response melodies in an elegant take on the idea of machine funk. The result is catchy, refreshing and primed for the dancefloor.

El Si Señor (Soundtrack Version)
With melodies that are more expansive and at the fore, leaving the rhythmic section discernible but clearly in the background, this version of El Si Senor is a reference to 70s film music, and this bittersweet tune closes the EP in style.

Cosmo Vitelli - When Suddenly : Acid

@La-Mverte ’s October 2017 album ‘The Inner Out’ now gets some carefully commissioned remix treatment on @her-majestys-ship from exciting artists Matias Aguayo, In Aeternam Vale and La Mverte himself.

The album, ‘The Inner Out’, was a unique mix of industrial, disco, new wave and Italo that marked another high point in the Paris producer’s discography. Three of the key tracks from it now get fresh reinterpretations that bring plenty of heat to the dance floor.

In @in-aeternam-vale-1 is rooted in punk-rock nihilism, Kraftwerk coldness and aggressive industrialism, and has been since the eighties. His arresting take on ‘The Inner Out’ has a wild spirit. Flailing synths and bleeping keys bring a rave element to the dehumanised vocals while strobe lit grooves and stiff stabs make this one brilliantly muscular and macho.

These are three wonderfully club focused tracks that deal in plenty of rawness and grit.

The night went on and on, it seemed as if it might never end. It was late for some but as he counted the money in his pocket he knew that it was not too late for a sum. There was more profit to be made in this place and as he weaved and wandered between the lost souls of the night he thought about his life back home. The small town streets and the smiling faces of those people that had raised him, if only they could see him now. The music echoed with a hollow bounce as the walls moved beneath the flickering glow of strobes and flares. He took a deep breath and walked forwards into the blackness...

This is the second release between the collaborative duo which is Kincaid and his father Blancmange. They have previously released music together on Moscoman's Disco Halal imprint and was widely supported. Their new EP is even bigger.

Mosaique Records presents a new release from a Japanese producer named Baroque.

Two original industrially heavy EBM features for the dark areas, bunkers and cellars are united by the Seventh EP concept.

The release also includes two remixes: first one is from the pioneer of the French EBM/Electroclash movement David Carretta, who’s known for his work for such labels as Trust, Gigolo, Space Factory and Blackstrobe; and the second one from the Russian EBM producer Rudiment.

PREMIERE: Futuristant & Vicky Montefusco - Sara (WLDV Remix)

Thick metal bars covered the window, limiting the light that entered the already dark room. What was visible was unfamiliar; the heavily padlocked door, the single chair in the corner.... He had no recollection of how he'd ended up here. Panic began to set in as he tried to retrace the last few hours in his mind, and he couldn't. It was completely blank. As he got to his feet and made for the door, a key began to turn in the padlock; he'd soon have his answer.

Following releases from Silicodisco and FLXXX, San Francisco's Roam Recordings welcome back Tronik Youth for a new EP titled Lost In The Media. The two originals are backed up by remixes from Disco Halal alumni Autarkic and shape shifting producer and Berceuse Heroique regular Black Merlin, who stretches the original in to a ten minute Industrial slow burner, that builds on a fuzzy synth line and robotic vocal samples that take cues from early New Beat.
