In late 2014 The Guardian made a list called ’25 of the best clubs in Europe’ in which Belgrade’s legendary boat 20/44 was included. One of the most deserving people who have contributed to the quality of the program and the overall success of this club is DJ and producer Nebojša Bogdanović - Schwabe. As one of the founders of the cult Disco Not Disco party series he leads with DJ Brka and Toshke, Schwabe is  responsible for hosting parties with giants such as: Beppe Loda, Ron Morelli, Tako, Vidal Benjamin, Scott Fraser, Chida, Black Merlin, Abel, Lee Douglas, Baris K, Vladimir Ivkovic, Ray Mang and many more, thus leaving an indelible mark on Belgrade’s nightlife. 
His production career began within Kompleks, fans’ favorite live duo he once formed with his pal Lule. Schwabe recently drew public attention as Tapan, another slo-mo duo he formed with Goran Simonoski. Two Tapan EPs, „Volume“ for Scott Fraser’s Crimes Of The Future label and „The City“ for Willie Burns’ WT Records show Schwabe’s haunting 100bpm-oriented world in the best possible light. Known as the modest master of dark slow rhythms, Schwabe as a DJ is at his best when he is given enough time and space to transcend genre and experiment with his immaculate collection of seductive rhythms, ambient music and ethnic influences.

The group huddled closely for warmth and safety as they moved quietly through the night. They had reached a cross roads, every path didn't look inviting but they had no choice, they had to choose one. They decided to take the route down the stream. It wasn't the safest one, but the only one that would lead they knew for certain would lead them out of this god forsaken place. They definitely couldn't go back. There was nothing left there for them anymore...

In late 2017 Japanese musician Kuniyuki Takahashi and his Swedish friend Marcus Henriksson - who makes up half of Son Kite / Minilogue - spent a few evenings and n Japan, recording a few jam sessions together. At a later date the artists decided to release the music themselves digitally, calling the sessions “an improvised live recordings”, which then led to the d-N-A Sessions. Further to the release of the sessions, the elusive Japanese Musician JAKAM (who is a friend of both Kuniyuki and Henriksson) decided to rework the two jam tracks, using unique sonics and overlaying percussive rhythms on top of quirky acid lines for mesmerising results.

Jacques Satre shies away from conventional formulas, both when it comes to mixing and to producing. His tracks have somewhat of alchemy, for they are a peculiar mélange of eccentric elements that altogether become an intense sonic acid trip. Collaborator in the Positive Education festival and with a constant output in Worst Records, he is undoubtedly part of a thriving electronic music scene in Southern France where slow has become the new fast.

Hoshina Anniversary returns to MUSAR under a new cloak, Shifting Gears. 

Toyko’s Hoshina Anniversary has risen to particular prominence in recent years with his self-titled brand of ‘Watechno’. Stylistically fusing traditional Japanese instrumentation with Chicago and Detroit sensibilities, his works have found homes on ESP Institute, Young Marco’s Safe Trip and Amsterdam-based MUSAR Recordings.

Landing on the latter, MUSAR, little over a year ago with ‘Zangai’ EP, Hoshina returns under a new cloak, Shifting Gears, to present ‘Evil’ EP. 
 
Named after the 1975 ‘Gears’ LP of jazz and hard bop organist, Johnny Hammond, the Shifting Gears moniker focuses heavily on principles of Jazz and raw musicianship, with a continued exploration of machine-reared club sounds. How the two can take shape as one. 
 
Across ‘Evil’ EP, Hoshina’s native culture remains, as heard on ‘Miyatsukomaro’, where traditional Japanese strings harmonise with crisp hats and jazz keys. Inspired by the early works of keyboardist and composer, Bob James, all is underpinned by intrinsic Chicago synth work.
 
A recurrent theme throughout, the Chicago vibe most notably takes hold on title track ‘Evil’. An insidious march, the floor-pummeling kick and shoulder-tickling toms marry seamlessly with dracula-esque chords and dizzying piano arrangements. Nodding to the mischievous bassist Jaco Pastorius of jazz fusion band, Weather Report.    
 
Informed by the pacey creations of a revered duo, The Brecker Brothers and the 70’s rock music that soundtracked Hoshina’s youth, opener, ‘Senor Senorita’ wraps swathing reverb around a raucous melody and jiving percussion. Meanwhile, the seedy ‘Syndicate’ closes out amid eerie synth sneers and quirky, funk-flecked modulations.
