Kostantyn Isaev the man behind the project Volta Cab and also Rambal Cochet is now part of the Waste Editions family. The St. Petesburg's colorful artist has just recorded 6 catchy and powerful tunes which are heavily influenced by the new wave/post punk music of the late 80's , especially by bands like Кино (Kino) and the Soviet space disco as well.

Friends since the PULP years, Jennifer Cardini and David Shaw have joined forces for a phenomenal project which will bring the dance floor walls crumbling down!
Their first encounter was at the Pulp, 10 years ago, where they spent the entire night (well almost) talking about their mutual taste for bands like Joy Division, the Smiths, Etienne Daho , Stinky Toys...to create their bonds which took a decade to actually emerge . It was the fantastic documentary “Paris is Burning”, which introduces the Voguing scene in New York in the 80’s, which inspired “In The Ballroom” and “Pepper Labeija”, the first fruit of their collaboration.

"Benedikt Frey and Naia d’Alò's Init project received great initial praise through two well conceived pieces for John Talabot's Hivern disco back in 2015. Now the pair are back on Les Disques De La Mort with a four track EP rich with their moody techno delights.

"Stereometric" sees a swollen electric base gently plume as ghostly vox and slowly eroding artefacts are scattered through the mix; landing somewhere between Bay Area minimal wave and the taut techno meanderings of Marcel Dettman. 

"Nuts" is an anthemic slice of darkwave electro; tense, a little bit menacing and cinematic as hell - conjuring images of late night mutant car chases through guttural cityscapes. 

"Wheels" sees us dive down smacked-out electro-post-punk rabbit hole; landing in a drug stained bedsit around Hulme Crescents circa '89 with next doors party still in full swing two days since it began. 

"Mindwork" invites said neighboring crusties to an all-night post-Goa-trance rave up on some moonlit beach and populated by shady drug dealers and Mad Max type characters all locked into its full-throttle stomp. "

Earlier this year, Eric Estornel (aka Maceo Plex) resurrected his electro-focused alias Mariel Ito for its first outings in 12 years with the two-track EP ‘2e Komst’ on his Lone Romantic label.

For his next instalment, Estornel plans to release a retrospective Mariel Ito album ‘2000-2005’ - scheduled to drop on October 26 via R&S Records.

The ten-track LP is made up of unreleased material that Estornel created under the alias in the mid-00's. Exploring the emergence of the project and its connection with his Cuban and Miami roots, the album marks the welcome reactivation of the Mariel Ito project from hibernation.

Ahead of the album's release, Estornel shares '99 Tricks' - a noncompliant electro driver filled with scratching and dramatic pads that could perfectly soundtrack any classic South Beach pursuit.
