As a little extra to celebrate our 10-year anniversary, Betonkust made a 90s house remix of Hit or Miss.The original track by indie pop singer Gisèle features the iconic KORG M1 piano – practically begging for a dancefloor rework. It’s been 10 years since 9300 Records kicked things off with Innershades ' What About Us EP – a four-track release made entirely with the same KORG M1 synthesizer.This remix brings things full circle.

It’s been some time since we last featured a back-to-back set in our beloved mix series, and episode 167 comes to make up for it. Recorded live earlier this year at Venue MOT during a fundraiser for Medical Aid for Palestinians, the night brought Will Hofbauer and Zaltsman together on the decks, weaving a seamless journey of deep grooves, vibrant rhythms, and euphoric energy. This edition perfectly captures the spirit of the event - a celebration of music, solidarity, and community united for a meaningful cause.

SpunOff Basement Beats Mix [BBM005]

Under a former alias, The Liquid Dude has long been a fixture in the electronic scene, collaborating with artists such as Emanuel Satie, Leif, and Lehar, among others. He has played all over the world, including at Detroit's legendary TV Lounge, and also scores for film. His work has won international awards such as Best Film at the 22nd Wildlife Vaasa Film Festival in Finland and Best Documentary at the 5th MADRIFF. He has directed independent films, music videos, commercials, and creative fashion and art photoshoot sessions, and blends visual and musical storytelling with a distinct artistic vision

After a 12-year hiatus from the DJ circuit, he's back with fresh energy and perspective for this new album and an immersive event series, Into the Hole. Early bookings at high-profile venues like Eden in Ibiza have started this new chapter with a bang, and this new album is only set to take him to new levels once more. It arrives on the newly launched Liquid Freaks label, which, since 2023, has been an event series run by a highly experienced group keen to revive the raw spirit of the early warehouse scene.

Says the artist, "What you'll hear isn't nostalgia, it's a disassembled memory rebuilt from frequencies and mild paranoia. It's the echo of someone who once lived inside the scene, then slipped out quietly when it stopped making sense. Not a tribute, a confrontation. A cracked mirror held up to a culture that once moved bodies and minds."

Opener 'Skip This' begins with atmospheric synth modulation, textured smears, and curious melodies before 'Nipponacidfunk' delivers a twisted house workout with funky drumming and screwy 303s laced with Japanese spoken words. The singular sounds continue on the pressurised and winky acid madness of 'Shakyshaky', while 'Botox Love' is an oﬀ-grid rhythm with unhinged synths and flaming breakbeats, warped vocals and acid flashes that take you to the heart of a strobe-lit warehouse. 'Freaking Freaks' brings old school piano energy to new school club rhythms and 'Digital Dopamine' is tripped out afterparty electro with aliens controlling the machines. There is a more introverted feel to the plunging bass and melancholic chords of 'Indigestion' before closer 'The Old Days' pairs warm summer synths with spoken word musings and elastic rhythms.

"Musique Pour Enfiler Des Perles" is the third EP by Poison Gauchiste, aka Eric Labbé, following "Musique Pour Faire Différentes Choses" and "Musique Pour Monter En Haut". It is the result of a slow maturation process, shaped by summer idleness and long winter evenings over the past two years. The EP features five compositions that, as always, blend quirky influences with distinctly personal oddities.

Caution: several of these tracks contain rhythms that might inspire dancing — though it’s unclear whether listeners will actually follow through, given the spells of languor and melancholy that occasionally drift onto the dancefloor...

It was perilous by nature, fascinating by design. A beautiful link, stunning, sublime. The world kept on moving, the dance was on, where it would land, who knew. 
Turbo are arguably one of the most prolific record labels to have emerged since the millenium. The output is vast, varied and emphatic. Up next is Autarkic who recently released on Disco Halal. He is remixed by none other than Red Axes.

A silence fell throughout the great tent. The lights darkened and a strange fear ushered its way through those who had gathered to watch. This was a cult, a celebration, a plan for the future. However, that did not mean that it did not strike fear into their very core, for it was supposed to, it was supposed to be unnerving. Abnormal, abhorrent, it was a thing of beauty. A large cry echoed throughout the space, it beckoned and bellowed against the walls of the tent. This was for my people. 
Deeply Cultured is a record label originating from the streets of London. Moda, based in Sweden provides their second release.

Positive or negative, only time would tell. Life and death depended on the outcome but at present he remained calm, cool and collected. He had little choice. That plus or minus would determine the very course of his future, his existence, his soul. The hour would come, and soon he would know all. However, for now, he was happy to sit and wait, watching the wall, before an outcome was revealed. 
Flau is a record label of which you might be unfamiliar with. Based in Tokyo, Japan they have been operating since 2006 and have remained low key and under the radar of many. Mid June saw the release of 'Open Close Open' : a four track EP from Robert Lippok. And whilst we aren't in the habit of premiering music which is already out in the open, this seemed like a perfect opportunity to showcase something from the unknown.

The number six remains ever present, ever dark, ever monotonous. It was here now. With them. 
Ossia has remixed the work of Silver Waves on Howling Owl/ Portals Editions. He describes the process as follows. 
"All sounds, apart from the main hand-drum pattern, have been coaxed out of Silver Waves original recording, and skewed via an old Trident mixing desk, re-sampled & played / pitched / reversed / filtered / distorted and shot back through the Space-Echo, an old Copicat Delay + a few other bits and pieces. The track was made in two full days of aggressive meditation, with little sleep in between."

The tower loomed ominously from above. Grey brick and damp wood shrouded what lay inside its cavernous walls, you might never know of the true beuaty which existed beyond its prison. A room for babette was waiting somewhere within. It was enchanting, peaceful and still, almost as if part of some distant world. Not the world inhabited outside the brick of the tower.
Up next on Cosmic Pint Glass steps Toby Tobias. He unveils two tracks for the label accompanied by a Ptaki remix. The release follows a busy spell for the relatively new label who have previously released music from the likes of Ruf Dug and Tony G.

The electricty radiated throughout the room as the lights began to flash euphorically. The walls shook, the ground clattering under the weight of a thousand marching feet. There was a synchronised energy in this place, a cosmic energy. The world was moving onwards and upwards, against the worrisome tide of oppression which had held them down for far longer than it should ever have. 

City Fly remain at the forefront of all things house as they continue to push forward UK club culture. Their latest release sees a collaboration from Lemy Leopard and Simbad who deliver three tracks for their 'Vibin' EP.
