An aboslute classic of a house track from Nathan Fake from way back in 2003 - big ups to Nathan for this one!  

I've given it the Broken Chair treatment, keeping the main bass and pad sound whilst adding some breakbeat drums, a subtle chopped up vocal and an eery synth line that takes the track to a new level.

Smoke ebbed and flowed through the warehouse, engulfing all dancers in its path. Through the haze you could make out countless sweaty writhing bodies, eyes closed or heads down; each and every one lost in their own world. Their hips oscillating and swaying with every kick and stab that punctured the room. Their bodies were slave to the rhythms. 

Close family Timothy Clerkin pays tribute the foundations of rave music with a contemporary vision with his new EP Psalm. Set for release on his own Insult To Injury imprint, that he runs alongside us at R$N HQ, it features three originals torn from the late night good book. 'Slave Too' - which also gets a remix on the flip from Simian Mobile Disco's Jas Shaw - takes things up a gear following opener 'Psalm', bringing with it heavy breaks and detuned stabs that transport us back to the early 90s.

"Feel the Drive" launches a new label with a four-track EP.  First there were the parties, then came the radio shows, and now the label.  Szymek Lawik and Martin Lefteri spend their lives digging up Italo, New Beat and EBM delights, so a record label was a logical progression.  It’s the perfect distillation of their combined tastes and determination to search for new music.  The four-track debut EP features Franz Scala (Bahnsteig 23, Tusk Wax, Cocktail d'Amore), Anatolian Weapons (Beats in Space, Dark Entries), Furor Exótica  (Bordello a Parigi, Sprechen) and the label heads themselves under their Ondata guise (Red Laser, Night Noise Music).  
 
First up is Franz Scala, with “Sabrina”.  A pulsing, new beat thrum bolts out of the gate, setting the pace with conviction. This straight-ahead velocity leans to guitar licks and Italo horn stabs, before you know it, you’re transported - hugging the curves and corners along with the motorik rhythm.   Shifting down a gear , the EP heads east with “Ela” as Anatolian Weapons light up the skies with  slow-burning intensity delivered with conviction. Exotic synth melodies, dextrous string playing and rolling acid lines carve out a unique path through the terrain, leaving no choice but to follow in its slipstream. 
 
Argentinian duo Furor Exótica  pick up the pace with “Fat Training”, an arpeggio-supercharged dancer guaranteed to lift the spirits and recharge the batteries come 3am. This track carries its momentum up front and its boogie in the back.  Closer “Kolossos” is an apt moniker for this no-nonsense, heads-down monster. It’s a neon-lit tunnel late at night, alien light throwing repetitive, yet slowly shifting shapes against sheer walls as you move through.  “It’s not as bad for humankind to be dominated by me than to be dominated by others of your species” a voice intones as we reach our destination. It’s metal machine music to save us from ourselves.

A glowing orange orb slowly descended from the sky into an empty alley-way; a unique phenomenon which would be unfortunately overlooked, as it took place at 04:56 AM on an oddly-warm Tuesday morning, in a part of town which could be frankly mistook for abandoned during week nights. The orb began emanating orange pulsing lights that gradually fractured away from their original source, solidifying into discernable shapes: a human-like form started developing, giving these glistening spectres a well-defined head, torso and limbs. Reaching a residential area the spectres began to move towards the houses, favouring those with open windows. Slowly, they each slid up the external walls and entered the edifice, in complete silence. 

Amsterdam's Sinchi return with a new EP from Leo Nanazzo & Mishouju, who have linked up for Consistency, which features remixes from Man Power and Timothy Clerkin. Generated by the two producers whilst jamming and messing around with vocals, the title track goes into full eccentric acid-disco, featuring scintillating drums and quirky vocal samples, interspersed with space-age lasers and electro breaks. All proceeds from the EP will be donated to the Sinchi Foundation, which upholds the UN’s declaration on the rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).
