The flickering lights flashed and buzzed upon the billboard, the giant screen looked down upon the passing people who walked beneath the radiant glare of the monitor. They were not aware of the dense, intricate complexity required to make such electronic engineering work and whiz behind the scenes. Each pixel was like a microdancer, a tiny orb which danced and died in the blink of an eye only to be replaced by the next pulsing light. It was night time in the city and the glow of the billboard was all which illuminated the way for the lonely walkers, a city ignorant and unthinking. Lead by the visions on a midnight screen. 

Tracey is set to release a new EP on Aus Music, an electro inspired affair which channels the rough and rugged sounds commonly associated with Den Haag. This one has been widely supported and works a treat.

There was a flickering flame which burnt by the river as he watched the stream roll downwards beyond his line of sight. It was symbolic in a way, that this one burning fire might represent his deepest desires and his greatest hope. He looked up at the night sky and listened to the silence which buried and engulfed the countryside all around him. There was nobody else around for he was in the midst of nowhere. This was the outback, the middle of the abyss, yet still his deepest ambitions burnt bright.

Dukwa is a producer of whom we are fond. Releases via Bosconi Records and Numbers cemented his position which was then followed by two self released EPs. Now he appears on a newly launched label, TDSR, in what might just be his best yet.

Thomas Gray & Liam Ebbs : ‘‘Recollection of Everything Beautiful’ was written over the space of 18 months between 2019 and 2020. The protracted time frame for the creation of the record corresponded with a period of vast personal change for both Thomas and Liam. Contrary to their debut record, ‘3 Days, 2 Nights’, this work is less bound to place, rather being a reflection on the joy of transformation.’’ 

Part 1 of ‘To An End’ opens the project, fusing ethereal textures and modulating synth tones with a balearic tinged plucked melody and an amalgamation of euphoric strings and atmospherics. ‘Of Two’ follows next and sees the duo deliver intricately evolving off-kilter drums alongside elongated jazz-tinged bass notes and their signature cinematic soundscapes. Following is ‘.nov.’, which contrastingly switches the focus over to minimalistic 4/4 drums, snaking subs, wandering piano lines and resonant fills throughout. 

‘That Was You’ kicks off the flip, once again offering a more left of centre rhythmic approach via glitchy percussion and bumpy kicks while billowing synths and warm Rhodes ebb and flow throughout. ‘Variation II’ embraces a modern classical aesthetic with organic percussion, subtly blooming piano melodies and tension building pads next before Part 2 of ‘To An End’ closes the package, perfectly concluding the experience through evolving guitar melodies, blissful atmospheres, brass swells and a soft rhythmic flow.

Thunderous rumblings from overhead had never been so welcome, it felt wonderful listening to the heavens open from the comfort of their four walls. For now at least, but it wouldn't be long before they'd be willing the sun to return once more...

Censor Records call on the talents of London Modular Alliance for their next release, a four track EP from core member Phil Ventre, backed up by a remix from label boss Alex Jann. Ventre's background co-running synth shop London Modular plays into his innate ability for crafting meticulous rhythms and singular sound palettes, with his Glass Cannon EP bringing wigged-out mechanics, synth stabs and lo-slung shuffling drum patterns in abundance.

JNS to release his first full-length album ‘Miasma’ on Honey Badger Records on October 30th, 2020.
JNS, an electronic music producer based in Seoul, released four EPs on Honey Badger Records and continues to perform various music activities. His original and remix tracks were introduced through various radio station such as BBC Radio 1, NTS, Redlight Radio
and Worldwide FM in Europe. Furthermore, His music was used for the advertising of Samsung, Hyundai Motor and numerous fashion brands such as Stella McCartney, LV, YSL.
JNS presented a 60 minute DJ set at 2019 Boiler Room Seoul event, which was his 2nd Boiler Room gig after 2016. At Sonar 2018 Hong Kong, he also showcased the best in South Korean talent at the Asian Radio Showcase stage with Seoul Community Radio. And also he was selected as one of the 16 leading producers of Seoul at the Red Bull Bass Camp in 2017.
‘Miasma’ to be released this time is JNS’ first full-length album, a work that captures the emotions he felt as he spent 2020, when the world was covered with unpleasant air. The album will be released on 12-inch vinyl as well as music streaming services.
