Skatebård is back on Untz Untz Records. This time in collaborative mode with Stiletti-Ana to present: The Finsk-Norsk Body Language Society. The short version of the story goes: Skatebård and Stiletti-Ana meet at a party they both played at hosted by Untz Untz in Berlin 2011. Stiletti-Ana was there as part of the duo Jesse. A drum machine gets a Skatebård signature on it at the end of the night. Jesse remixes Skatebård’s ‘Conﬁrmation Bias’ track for Untz Untz in 2013. Fast forward to 2017 and here we are with the deal that was unknowingly signed in 2011 fulﬁlled. This record was recorded, mixed & dubbed live straight to a two track stereo tape recorder, during a ﬁne January weekend in 2017 at Stiletti’s Haista II studio on the island Suomenlinna outside Helsinki. We hope you like Standard Moderne, a Moderne Standard. Skatebård is a Norwegian producer of all things electronic. Connoisseurs know that his catalogue oscillates between emotional techno, neo-italo, electro from an alternative future and a Scandocosmic reinterpretation of pure Detroitian house. Skatebård has released records on Bordello A Parigi and Vivod lately and has seen a steady rise of his proﬁle the last couple of years that has taken him around the world via Australia, Japan, Brazil and back again to his hometown Bergen.
Stiletti-Ana is a legend in Helsinki's underground scene, and has probably touched in one way or another most of the interesting music coming out of Finlands underground. A drummer, producer, session musician, recording, mixing and mastering engineer, this is a man who has dedicated his life to music. You may ﬁnd him behind the drums with K-X-P or behind the machines on stage in the duo Dj Candle In The Wind. Recent release from Stiletti-Ana can be found on Rat Life, Sex Tags UFO and I’m A Cliché. The train was very busy and each seat in the carriage was taken. Walking along the platform he peered in through the dirty windows to catch a glimpse of the faces preparing to make their journey far, far away. The station echoed with the sound of a neverending tannoy which groaned and groaned with more promise and urgency with each horrible announcement. It was as if they liked to prepare you for the bitter goodbye long before you cast one solitary wave into the distance as the train whirred away. This was the way of the world. 

Lucky Charmz is set to release a new EP on Lehult, a widely supported label which is championing a new wave of talent and musicality. House is the agenda and this one is great.

Andy Ash has been quietly sneaking out seriously good analogue-driven electronic music on some of the best underground labels for over a decade. The Liverpool-based producer, DJ and visual artist has graced the likes of Chicago’s Stilove4music, NYC’s On The Prowl, Sydney’s People Must Jam and has remixed Fantastic Man for Detroit label Kolour LTD amongst many others. The bottom line is that he’s definitely one of the UK’s unsung heroes when it comes to deep, raw, Chicago and Detroit-influenced house music and Delusions of Grandeur is proud to welcome him with an amazing three tracker entitled the Bottleneck EP.

The title track opens with snappy hats, flappy congas and sloppy baseline all sitting perfectly in the mix and with a looseness that is much harder to achieve that it may seem. A simple synth melody doubles up the bassline while an extra square wave lead adds that little extra hook without distracting us from the bouncing groove. With Bottleneck, less is definitely more.

Flipping over we have Hump, an altogether darker affair with a twisting acid line joining distorted 808 drums and tripped-out snippets of spoken word coming in and out of focus. The low-slung bumpy groove and spacey synth parts make this a compelling warehouse track which will draw everyone into it’s seductive confines.

Closing the release we have Actual Price, a shuffling, deep groover with rumbling low end and machine-like analogue synth part skipping around the crunchy beats. A cerebral yet punchy and dynamic closer to an excellent release!

Our first "transnational" label mix recorded half in Berlin and half in London. The first half sees a heartfelt and freeform journey by HM head Zapata followed by just over half an hour of the spaced out, soulful beats of JVXTA. We picked out some of our favourite records from recent parties and also slipped in some of HM's own including an exclusive from our forthcoming fifth record.

Waswotsch is a digital and vinyl label based in Zürich, Switzerland. The label is open to a wide range of styles, with a focus on left-field house and techno.
