This is SNGVA003, the third compilation from Sengiley Recordings, featuring fresh breakbeat and drums cuts, produced by new and established artists from around world. 

Dylan Dylan gets things started with a slice of deep, UKG style beats, Marc Brauner & Jimbo Mack collaborate and make a continuation of the UKg vibe with a German flavour, followed by Foreach with a serious dose of uplifting breakbeat business. Togethrs produces some sublime drum & bass sounds, and Minor Sine Project brings us vibey, acid breaks. Jordan Raymond supplies some atmospheric, laid back rhythms, followed by Nørus & DJ WHIPR SNIPR who drop a powerful chunk of bassline orientated material. Withheld brings the heat with an extended, melodic breakbeat excursion and lastly, Florian winds things down with a deep and blissful track that serves up luscious pads and ingenious rhythms. The city was tired – it had been standing for too long. It was only a matter of time before the wheels came off and the industry which once was here retreated into the nothingness of empty warehouses and abandoned complexes. This was not how it had been supposed to end…

As the clouds passed over the sprawling metropolis, it were as if they too were leaving this place one by one. They came and went, much in the same way as the investment had done. All that was left here now were good people, kind spirits and the remainder of a once great empire which had stood tall and proud, built upon its machines.

Mark Hand & Neil Iceton channel influences from Detroit on this brilliant new EP for Innate. These tracks could have been recorded in the Motor City way back for all we know. Beautiful, wild, sprawling melodies are paired with fast paced drums and percussion which is built for dancing. This one comes highly recommended with a gold seal of approval.

Acid house label Chicago Bee will release the compilation ‘Home Listening - Acid & House’ on 7 November, on vinyl and digitally. 

The vision for the ‘Home Listening' compilation album was to create a collection of tracks that complement each other and are fitting for repeated home listening. Being somewhat of a conceptual experiment, all the artists on the album were asked to imagine fusing Acid and House with the Virtualsex LP which was released on Buzz in 1993. A 303 sound would be welcomed but not essential with an emphasis on soulful emotion and melody.   

Some of the artists are people who label boss Mark Churcher (aka A-Eno-Acid) has struck up a relationship with since starting Chicago Bee and some targeted deliberately as Mark thought they would be able to hit the brief. The project threw up many interesting results with some artists drifting outside of their normal comfort zone! Artists featured include Derek Carr, Type 303, Fear-E, Forgotten Corner, and label boss A-Eno-Acid. 

From Finland, Dan Kaipio has become a versatile and prolific artist over recent years and this is his second appearance on Chicago Bee. With EP releases on the popular I Love Acid and Downfall Recordings labels to his name, he’s no mug. He nails a vintage acid sound with his track, ’Stairway To Jupiter’.
