We recon it’s time for a full Junktion EP on Outplay! You can say Wide Awake is an appropriate title after a wonderful 2015 with a string of EP’s on Sleazy Beats, Razor-n-Tape and Rose Records. This four tracker explores the sound he’s been developing over the years and even touches a newer side. The EP opens with the title track “Wide Awake” and embodies the signature Junktion sound with a summery balearic touch. “What We Are” is a faster synth laden affair coupled with his usual sample action. “Sunny Side Up” is what the title says it is, a sunny disco track driven by a groovy bassline and a funky rhythm guitar. The EP closes down with “Don’t Mess Up” for a more contemplative jazzy track with some smooth sampling and afro touches.

Jonnie SDA was a rogue, a vagabond, a troublemaker. He carried those letters with him as a reminder of his military past and with time they had become his calling card. His appearance was scruffy, his face askew, eyes wild, blazing with the malice of a battlefield left behind. He had always wanted to rebel, now would begin his reign of chaos. Jonnie SDA was in town, and he was sure as hell, here to stay.

The rattle of metal echoed furiously down the tunnel. the subway car continued to roll through the dirt darkness, a soft light illuminating the train tracks on a winter night. The Drome network has insured that all of these tunnels were built with watertight intricacy and immaculate detail, but that was many years gone by now. Who knew how safe the lines were now...

Chicago's influence on music has defined a generation. House might not exist but for the jackin' clubs of the eighties. Little remains as a testamanet, however, Jack The Mack 3 offers an insight into days gone by.

Second Hand Fun is a new label which appear to have hit the ground running. Split between Montreal and Berlin their first release comes from Comfort Zone with an EP named 'The Function'.

I was looking for a place to dance in the dark. A smoke filled room with a rumbling system and an ambience of excess. I asked them to bring me down to the spot, but it was not what I had expected at all. The red walls lined the room with a deathly glow, the black mist prevented my sight, I was disorientated and lost. This was not my idea of fun and I wished I had not asked them to bring me down. 

Tuff City Kids are on triumphant form as they remix M Wylde on Cultures Of Soul. When this one landed in our inbox we knew we were on a to a winner straight from the off: a winning combination. They edit the track into a high energy melodic dancefloor escapade.

The caves of Botuto loomed ominously above the sea, their black, murky depths swallowed up the water and sight was lost amidst the darkness. The waves roared coarsely in his ears as they clattered against the rugged cliff face, this was unchartered territory, no human had ever entered the Botuto. They would soon find out how deep the rabbit hole beneath the water would go. 

'Schaum' is the latest release to emerge from the Faitiche records camp. It sees masayoshi Fujita and Jan Jelinke get weird and wonderful across a sprawling assortment of music which comes in at just under an hour.

In Any Case are about to release a five track EP from an assortment of producers. The record incorporates a range of sounds and expressions spanning house, disco and hip hop.

PREMIERE: Iner, Radkevich - Love Triangle [1980 House Recordings]

You may know @MunkGomma for the various tracks he did with James Murphy, Peaches, Asia Argento or one of many other indie disco tracks he released on his former label Gomma.

Gomma is now sleeping and Mathias ‘Munk’ Modica started the Toy Tonics label with his friends Manuel Kim & Moritz Butschek. Since then he hasn’t released many things under that name. Instead he has been playing keyboards, bass and drums on many tracks of other artists on the @ToyTonics label. And of course has been building up the TT imprint from his new home in Berlin.

However, now it’s summer the timing was right to put out a few balearic remixes reworks of Munk tracks with beach party / daytime disco vibes.

Reworks come from Munk’s friends  Lauer, King DJ and Kai Alce from Detroit and our pick of the lot @dj-Severino of @Horse-Meat-Disco.

The lovely Erik Ellmann has this sunny slice of bliss coming out on Hurlee's label. I'd love to be able to say this is perfect the time of year right now for us, but the UK summer this year seems to be non existent! Either way we can but imagine, sitting in the sun with a few cold ones whiling away the afternoon with this soundtracking it, and that is a lovely thought.

Salin Records warmly welcomes Diamond to the family, a very talented, young producer based in Oxford (UK), who found a place in our heart. 

When Diamond reached out to us with a raw demo of "Target Blue" we couldn’t get the melody out of our heads for days. The track instantly put a smile on our face and with Alex Wilson's sax lines it spreads an enormous energy which made us feel as if we were 20 again. Later Diamond came up with "Pen Burns The Paper" and "You Like Jazz?" which built an awesome fundament for an artist EP. 

There couldn't be a better title than "You Like Jazz? EP" as it reflects the personality of the producer - Diamond, who has a kind of obsession with Jazz but at the same time is not too serious about it. 

We also welcome our dear friend Tour-Maubourg to the label. His breakient mix of "Target Blue" is a brilliant example of where inspiration can lead you if you just let it go. His talent for creating emotions is outstanding. 

Daria Salin adapted the power of Diamonds music in her painting.
