Humble B Flats - Blessings of Sun double disk, coming out on Pond Life Records is a sonic spiritual voyage and document of the artist's last three years, overcoming grief and challenges - while deepening a sense of gratitude for the teachings and learnings along the way.

Musically this has translated, to a beautiful series of works, inspired by musical cultures around the world, this Deep House album is infused with jazz, psychedelia , tribal and heartwarming sounds and grooves.

With exception to collaboration with Kudo Sol and Ilja Gussarov (on tracks B1 & C1 respectively) all instruments, as ever, are played, recorded, rearranged and mixed by Humble B Flat, with a more sample based approach to the rhythmic grooves.

PREMIERE - Michael son of Michael - Cowbell Concerto (Self Release)

Flash Atkins has pulled together a crack team of musicians for Sanza Mibale Ya Bo Pemi. It is a tribute to the golden age of afro disco, when the sounds of 70s New York found their way to the continent and fused with local musical styles and rhythms.

Felix Ngindu sings in his native Lingala language from DRC over a locked bass, congas, keys, percussion, rhythm guitar and a brass section from Haggis Horn's Atholl Ransome and Malcolm Strachan. Funk, disco, soul and jazz all blend for a a peak time jam.

The Flash Dub strips things back to the rhythm section for heads down, dubby action and a tracky take that still packs a dance floor punch.

The incomparable Bosq steps up for remix duties and knocks it out the park. Layered drums and percussion give things a more latin swing before the beats break, piano enters the fray and it's a tropical funk party starter all the way.

The dub does the beat thing, rocking a hard groove for the dancers. Hands in the air? F**ck yeah!

The A-side opens with the title track: spacious arpeggios and dreamy textures create a soundscape that invites you to get lost in the music, a tribute to the carefree spirit of the ’90s. "Techla" follows with a more minimal, introspective vibe. Its hypnotic bassline feels like a journey into the unknown.

The B-side starts with "Somo", a bright and catchy track full of sunny melodies and feel-good energy, evoking Italo disco moods. Finally, "Flusso Libero" closes the EP with elegance and depth. It features a unique vocal sample that stands out in Feel Fly’s style, tying everything together with a nod to ’90s nostalgia.

Hey there!! I'm Laion, 99% producer and 1% DJ - for very special occasions mostly! I've actually been a DJ way before producing any kind of music, and learnt the ropes directly on vinyl, in a very different register though - my first love was with reggae! Production came quite a bit later, first with thePhilosophica, with whom we had our first encounter with Sinchi Collective for a couple of releases. We also released on labels  like of AEON and Melopee Records, besides a season on Rotterdam-based Operator radio. In 2023, I started my solo project, aiming for the fun of the dance floor and the catchy (cheesy?) melodies. And only this way could I release an EP fully dedicated to my girlfriend's dog. You can find my solo releases on labels such as Frank Music, Feinstoff, Melodize or Club Mackan - and more to come!

Birth, things that start. Undertaking.
Youth. Early stages. Innocence.
Hope, a whole way to go. Kindness. Solidarity. Whims.
Onamiel was the birth of the cycle, and was ruled by
youth and the predominance of hope in hard times,
kindness and solidarity, but also the vagaries of the
early age.

How did the meaning of the tarot card inspire the journey of this mix?

What spoke to me most about Spring – Onamiel is the sense of new life, fresh beginnings, optimism, and positivity. As a brand new father, I immediately thought of my daughter — how joy can start with something as light and simple as a smile, and how playfulness and learning naturally go hand in hand. With that in mind, I built this mix around tracks that celebrate our playful and joyful sides, bring moments of comfort and feel-good energy, and carry a hopeful sense of what’s still to come.

PREMIERE – Lex Wolf – Anybody Out There (M.A.D Records)

The glow from the rays of the mid afternoon sun illuminated the white covered floor with delicate precision. Shadows were scattered beneath the branches of trees whilst the daylight from above was stark and brutally vivid in contrast. Snow had been falling for a long time now and he could not recall the last time he had seen the dense greenery of the mountains which loomed in the distance far away. There was a hazy quality to the air as the soft flakes landed upon the ground. It crunched beneath the boot. 

PTU has remixed the prolific Maelstrom on the record label RAAR run by himself and Louisahhh which is due for release this week. Heavy duty, fun focused club sounds with a dark twist.

The people walked past, their faces cold and moody under the weight of work, stress and the burdens of everyday life. The disbelief habit was what allowed them to maintain haste and move from one day to the next, there was little here to live for in this deadbeat town. One day he dreamed that he might leave this space but it didn't appear that this might be anytime soon...

Jamal Moss is set to release a new EP on the Barcelona based record label Modern Obscure Music under the alias of The Sun God. He delivers experimental eclecticism in his signature style.

There was a sweet sound which lingered in the pool hall, it was not the usual sound of Friday night violence and trouble from the boys but a bittersweet groove which poured through the speakers. One by one the players began to take note and decided to stop for a second. The green felt of each table was illuminated by the glow of a faint, dim light. It was as if they glowed a fluorescent green radiance set for the discotheque. The players moved into the centre of the room and listened carefully, it was time to move and dance. 

Sharif Laffrey knows the deal. A veteran producer with a penchant for house music of the highest quality, he returns once again with an extended cut of acid laden beats and breaks. All with a catchy sample.

The ancient city held a voice of reason, a narrative which was hard to defy. For many years there had been an enchanted presence which hung amidst the towering city walls, it was as if some form of brutal magic had enchanted the magnificent kingdom and now they were under the snare of a greater force. The Haiphong boogie was what it had been so aptly named, somewhat satirical and somewhat in order to allow for it not to intimidate day by day. Nobody was scared of a boogie... were they? 

Is that summer we here? Just around the corner you say? Hatchback certainly thinks so as he prepares to release a new LP on Lo Recordings as he brings in the sunny season.

He was the prince and his rule was trict and fierce. He was worshipped in the East and there would be little that the West could do to prevent his rise from mediocrity to angelic. At least so he thought...

Mirror Zone is a newly launched imprint which looks set to be very interesting indeed, the first release comes in the form of a four track EP from the obscure producer Memphis. Originally recorded back in 1994 this one is dance focused with the psychedelic haze of something special from beyond.
