Moonoton is a local treasure: Andrei Nikonorov's tracks circulated in a local dj crew for about a decade or more, and always been a secret weapon. Actually this record was due to release for quite a while too, but it turned out that these tracks only got better with time and also now there's a bonus deep version by the label music head, Lipelis. Bye By Buy is a perfect tune to get the floor's attention while you starting the night with its super catchy vocal cuts and a piano riff. Someone Else gets you in a late 80's NYC night club with a garage-like groove with a hint of classic house stabs. Hard To Stop is a melancholic groover to close your set or, in this case an EP.

When Manfredas remixed Shari Vari's Dance Alone off their debut sold out LP on MT - 'NOW', he sent us 2 versions. The first one, the Dance Version was released digitally while this version above have never really seen the light of day, until now. 
This remix will be released as part of our celebratory 7 years birthday compilation,  a 2XLP coming in a beautifully designed gatefold sleeve.
The compilation, titled Sheva (7 in hebrew), will be released exclusively on our bandcamp this September, and on the rest of the platforms in October...

Shari Vari - Dance Alone (Manfredas Remix)

Earlier last year Vito Roccoforte and Gabriel Andruzzi aka members of the era-defining NY post-punkers The Rapture emerged from their DFA/major label hangovers into a world of sonic wanderlust with their debut long-player ‘I Hear’ under their Mother Of Mars guise.

Emulating all that was good and great about the rhythm section of their previous incarnation but exploring corners all-new, on 'I Hear' they enlisted a third bandmate; Jaiko Suzuki, on vocals. The album ventured down different tributaries, journeying into psych, kosmische, avant-garde, fourth world and new age dreamscapes. The resulting album provided technicolour bleeps, drones, ethereal singing and a plethora of percussion interweave, like a fractal mosaic in harmonious sensorium.

Now on 'We Hear' the band mobilises rising producers, friends new and old, to remix the best tracks from the LP. First single, 'Through The’, is Natasha Bai’s magical touch, taking out into the morning light as the sun breaks over the horizon. Natasha’s sound is marked by her ambient-pop influences, transporting the listener through otherworldly universes.

In the midst of the summer of 1988, a duo of artist from Belgium and Italy got together in the surroundings of the infamous X-rated film Rocket 23 Studios Molenbeek to build a seductive sound.

Originally involved in the cinematography and art direction of adult movies, the two mavericks decided to compose the soundtrack of what was going to become a cult movie of the late 80s erotique era: "Sexo y Fantasia".

The Belgian and Italian directors discovered back then the new beat, proto house and italo sound at the underground Ghent disco club "La Pircardía” and at “Club Spaziale” in Rimini, after their wet shooting days. Inspired by this bubbling European hype, they added features and distorted vocals from the X-rated movies they were filming at that time to the melody and beat of the soundtrack. The result is a powerful, unexpected and deep collection of tunes that sound fresh and vibrant today.

These unique tracks get to see the light of the day again thanks to the finding of the filthy master tapes together with a provocative fanzine somewhere in Brussels. Its images served as raw material for the adult artwork.

"Sexo y Fantasia" gets now revisited by current producers on the leftside of the beat: t-woc uses his masterful expertise to build an atmosphere of Balearic layouts, while Alexander Arpeggio works his way around a hypnotic and punchy remix of the original theme.

Following a series of memorable appearances on Casco’s Music Control and Bordello A Parigi, Miss Plug Inn teams up with Norwegian cosmic disco veteran Jarle Bråthen for a double dose of Italo Pop on Funnuvojere Records.

Under Neon Lights is an uplifting funk track buoyed on a surge of nostalgic synth, in which love seems to find itself again. On the B side Girls of The Night has just the right amount of hard synths to bring us back to the electro cosmic sound of the early 2000s.The hip-house vocals are the cherry on top of this delicious cake. 

A chugging bass line, acoustic drums, fragments of piano house and tripped-out trance waves distinguish Budino’s remix of Under Neon Lights. Omer’s remix of Girls Of The Night conjures a Miss Plug Inn in leather attire. This is a rather uptempo remake for late night dance floors. Check out Bråthen’s Rabbagast remix for a Hi-NRG club banger.

Inspired, both musically and aesthetically - one of his favourite carnal catchphrases titles the album - by Disco hero Patrick Cowley, Massimiliano channelled past, present and future in searching for new adventures within his music. For the first time working with live musicians (saxophone and piano) to bring a new facet on the table, that flows with the production seamlessly.

Communication and getting into a dialogue is a crucial part for Massimiliano as an artist. Whether it used to be as a ballet dancer, as a DJ, most prominently as a resident of the legendary Berghain / Panorama Bar, a producer and in collaboration with other artists and musicians: Maestro Massi has gathered an illustrious group of friends and like minded artist such as Snax, Fort Romeau and INIT (with whom he has worked before), as well as new collaborators including Curses, Coloray and Vanessa. Under the artistic direction of Massimiliano each artist was able to bring his own unique talent into the album's coherent production and together with Massimiliano they created something that is more than the sum of its parts: A refuge full of beauty and harmony and free from worries in an upside down world. In other words: "See You In Paradise”

Counterpoint in music is defined as 'the art of combining different melodic lines in a musical composition'. So naturally when i made this, the name really stuck out to me because of the multiple melody parts running through the tune.

It took a while to blend them all together in the right way, along with laying down some live synth work over the top, but the result is honestly something I couldn't be happier with. Super hyped on this one 🎧❤️
