Signs of Space frontmen @longislandsoundeire are next in line to grace the ranks of Oath with their latest body of work, an immersive and dynamic exploration of genre-blending electronic dance nuances. The duo, championed by Boiler Room, AVA and HÖR Berlin, delves into a deluge of ethereal energy across four absorbing dancefloor-ready records that make up their ‘Fracture’ EP.

Due for single release on 9th Feb ahead of the EP's full launch, the opening track ‘Flare’ brings together shuffled two-step grooves, celestial vocal accents, and retro analogue synths to carve out an empyrean number with cosmic nuances throughout. ‘Your Love’ comes next, showcasing more of the duo’s innate ability to seamlessly weave intricate harmonic progressions with a gritty edge accompanied by cinematic-level soundscapes, poignant vocal injections, and a solid breakbeat foundation.

Acid Camp is excited to announce a new compilation album. The album celebrates the label’s 10 year anniversary with 35 artists—of which 25 are releasing with the label for the very first time.

As the largest release in the record label’s history, Acid Camp: 10 Year Anniversary Compilation dramatically expands upon Acid Camp All Stars Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 (both 2018) with more than triple the number of featured artists. Ten return to the label, including Eric Cloutier and Jeremiah Chiu, while Abby Echiverri, Bézier, Force Placement, and 32 more celebrate their first track with Acid Camp.

From Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, New York, Berlin to Tokyo, the artists represent the breadth of the underground and independent music scenes of the 2020s and underscore the collective strength of Acid Camp’s community since 2013. The release spans dancefloor-forward acid house and techno to ambient, downtempo, and funk selections. Lyrics are cut and collaged; synths are squelched; grooves are grooved.

100% of the album's profits will be donated to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), founded over 30 years ago in 1991. PCRF is the leading nonprofit organization providing medical care and diverse humanitarian assistance to countless children in the Middle East.

»KAMILHAN; il y a péril en la demeure« is the conclusion of a 5-part cycle of works by artist Grischa Lichtenberger which was initiated with the album »LA DEMEURE; il y a péril en la demeure« in 2015 and continued with the triple EP release »Spielraum, Allgegenwart, Strahlung« in 2016.
In addition to the concept of „demeure“, ones residence as a symbol for the joy and artistic possibilities one can find in isolation, Lichtenberger places a further emphasis on the expression of the voice, represented by the word „Kamilhan“. „Kamilhan“ is a non-existent word, an expression that Ernst Bloch once mentioned in an anecdote about his childhood. Fascinated by its sound but without knowing its meaning, it remained vivid in his memory in its purely „material“ form.
Lichtenberger also refers to this childish perception of language. Words that we do not know, but repeat in our thoughts until they become insignificant. Lyrics in a foreign language that we do not understand and still sing along and imitate. With computer-generated voices, Lichtenberger tries to reproduce these experiences. In his tracks we hear syllables and phrases that are similar to words and that seem familiar to us, but whose meaning remains a secret.
As on the previous album, the tracks on »KAMILHAN« are constantly torn apart and reassembled. Borrowings from hip-hop and even pop are unmistakable, desired, and yet delusive. Rhythms that are repeatedly broken in order to re-organize themselves into new temporal patterns. Melodies that are pierced by precisely these intricate rhythms. Voices that lack any empathy due to their artificiality.
Lichtenberger himself describes these tracks as „crooked ballads“, which, by deliberately following classic pop song structures, try to sell us the absurd as the normal, and in turn smuggle some hope of recognition into the absurd.
»KAMILHAN; il y a péril en la demeure« will be released on May 08, 2020 on CD and as a limited double vinyl edition including a handmade and signed silkscreen print.

Ducking and diving, bobbing and weaving, with utmost haste they charged through the maze of branches and trees that blocked their way. Slowing occasionally to jump or hop over obstacles, the only standstill came with an unplanned slip or fall, quickly rectified with a rapid scramble back on to their feet. There was no end in sight, no finish line in memory. The only option was to keep running.

R.A.N.D. Muzik Recordings is a label we're constantly keeping tabs on. The Leipzig-based imprint is responsible for sharing some of the most refined electro, house, acid and breaks around and, considering its relatively short life span, has welcomed a diverse roster of artists for solo EPs and V/As, including Kassem Mosse, Rudolf C, Mick Pointer and Lou Karsh. Next up on the release schedule is a four-tracker from Manchester-based producers Tom Jarmey and Ed Hodge, who under the moniker ‘Mother Of Pearls’ team up for a batch of driving electro and breakbeat stompers.
