James Young steps up for his first release on QRUK with the Nagasaki EP, a dark and driving UKG cut that leans into the moodier edges of Garage and Speedy G. The North Wales-based producer has already made waves with House releases on labels like Smashin Trax and Pogo House, but this new EP sees him pushing into heavier, more dancefloor-focused territory. Nagasaki is packed with chopped-up drums, eerie textures and a tough low-end that hits hard.

On remix duties is Kabo Cana, returning to the label after making a big impression with his debut I DON'T UNDERSTAND. His take on Nagasaki flips the original into a more club-ready, 90s inspired roller full of sub pressure and tight percussion. It's another strong showing from the Manchester-based producer who's quickly becoming an exciting name in the new wave of UKG.

Amidst the dark confines of her room she surveyed the varying sized bottles on her bedside table. Each one was plastered with various instructions and recommended dosages; some promising effects that she swore were near to non-existent. Nothing really helped to solve or even mask the emotions that were clawing away at her. She knew she needed something stronger...

After notching up releases with the likes of brokntoys, Rotterdam Electronix and OMO Recordings, Czech producer Exhausted Modern returns to his own Endless Illusion imprint for the second time to release his debut album, The Year Of The Rat. Not claiming to have all the answers, but offering his perspective on these modern times, across the LP Exhausted Modern comments on the broken mechanics of society, capitalistic hierarchisation and the emotional frustration of those who fall victim to it.

A visit to Vin Sol's studio in 2016 turned into a live recording session resulting in 6 tracks of high energy red meat. Thru Out is the result of two friends in a studio in a bunker somewhere out there in San Francisco combining their experience in music making. 

These 6 tracks were recorded at soo wavey studios, mixed and mastered by Reede Reynolds in Berlin.

Trekking away through the mirage of the white abyss, unable to see the finish line, never mind where she started from. As the moon rises the temperature begins to plummet; her feet are quickly starting to freeze as she wades through the thick snow. She had to move rapidly, she had to find shelter from the storm or else she'd freeze there for eternity. Nobody came up this way anymore...

Tel Aviv-based label Tofistock return with their eighth release, this time from close family member MYKI. The seven-track EP entitled Natif, meaning stalactite in Hebrew, explores how 'the subconscious cave is not an empty space in the conscious mind'. MYKI's work with drum patterns lies at the centre of most of the tracks on the release, including our pick, 'Repetitive Madness' which journeys through different percussive iterations, driven by a bubbling trance-like acid line and polyrhythmic drumwork.
