As a little extra to celebrate our 10-year anniversary, Betonkust made a 90s house remix of Hit or Miss.The original track by indie pop singer Gisèle features the iconic KORG M1 piano – practically begging for a dancefloor rework. It’s been 10 years since 9300 Records kicked things off with Innershades ' What About Us EP – a four-track release made entirely with the same KORG M1 synthesizer.This remix brings things full circle.

Tangible Dreams (Lawrence Remix)

Moody McIvor is a Darkwave/Synthwave act fronted by Christopher McIvor from the Gold Coast, Australia, with production support from Felipe Bortoloti (Nørus), originally from Brazil and now based in Portugal.

Formed in 2021, the project blends ethereal soundscapes with pulsating rhythms, weaving together electronic textures and organic depth for a sound that is both intimate and expansive.

The debut release on McIvor’s new sublabel Ronnie’s Records, Shadow Frequencies, is a deeply personal body of work developed over four years and dedicated to the memory of close friend Benaiah Fiu. Each track channels love, loss, and memory through haunting melodies, evocative vocals, and emotionally rich atmospheres.

Today, Tom Vek shares the latest single from We Have Sound Remixed—the 20th anniversary reimagining of his cult debut album, arriving October 2 via StrataSonic Records.

Following Dave Glass Animals’ remix of “C-C (You Set the Fire in Me)” and Everything Everything’s rework of “Nothing But Green Lights,” London-based indie-electronic outfit Is Tropical takes the reins with a fresh interpretation of “I Ain’t Saying My Goodbyes.” Known for their genre-blurring sound throughout the 2010s, the group infuses the track with propulsive rhythms, raw textures, and a dancefloor-ready edge that casts the original in a new light.

“This song was on my soundtrack of leaving my hometown and moving up to London. Great memories of Shoreditch when it was full of squats and club line-ups were so eclectic. When there were still clubs in central London, this track was always played at FROG by the iconic DJs Danny Varley & Tom Frog! I remember the time fondly with a filter of K cider, brogues kept together with duct tape and no socks, regretamine and of course strobes. Shame that the camera phone was at early development as we’d have more archives to cringe through; as the glow sticks fade into lower back problems. But it be a seed that turns into the dancetree our children will rave under!”  — IS TROPICAL

Emerging from South London squats in 2009, IS TROPICAL carved out a cult following with their jagged and euphoric, sharp-edged pop with a nomadic sensibility. Tagged at different times as indie, electronic, punk, and “doss-pop,” IS TROPICAL signed early on to beloved French brand/record label Kitsuné and quickly became international adventurers, touring everywhere from Ghana to Mongolia, Russia to Peru, and sharing stages with LCD Soundsystem, Sonic Youth, Hole, and Klaxons.

We Have Sound Remixed is a rare kind of tribute, curated by Vek himself, with each artist handpicked and invited to reinterpret the record that helped shape their creative DNA. The result is a celebration of We Have Sound not only as a pivotal album of the 2000s, but as a blueprint for the fusion of guitar music, DIY electronica, and sharp-edged pop that now defines a generation of UK and alternative acts.


With contributions from alt-J’s Gus Unger-Hamilton, Everything Everything, Porij, Is Tropical, Anna Prior, Dutch Uncles, Baths, Vivid Fever Dreams, and Coby Sey, this project cements Tom Vek’s role as a cult figure whose music remains eerily current — and deeply influential — two decades on.

Two lovers of all things techy, minimal, and weird—Warden is a collaboration between M. Vaughan and Ireland’s Whoisben. Borne from weekly ritual sessions in Lisbon throughout 2025, Learning Curve is a grass-stained love letter to early 2000’s tech-house. For fans of Swayzak, Loidis, Central, and Herbert.

Prioritizing simplicity, these tracks were made from a heap of samples, a tangle of dropbox folders, and a stack of videos on FM synthesis. This is the sound of two friends nerding out.

"Moonlight" is a synth workout featuring Basic Channel-infused stabs, underpinned by deep tech. "Pensamentos" is a dubby chugger, filled with echo-drenched introspection. "You & I" recalls dreaming while the SSX Tricky 🏂 loading screen plays in the background, thick low-end muscle and cheeky vocals. "Liftoﬀ" sends you on a spacewalk, drifting weightless through syncopated downtempo.

Warden is here, Super Tuﬀ is back, and oh boy does it feel good. 💪

Michael son of Michael returns with the third and final instalment in his unintentional Margate trilogy - following in the proud tradition of trilogies like “The Godfather”, “Three Colours”, “Toy Story”, “The Lord of the Rings”, and Bowie’s “Berlin”.
The first EP reflected very loosely on the move to Margate - a UK coastal town once compared (unkindly) to Beirut, now more often compared (still unkindly) to Hackney. The second was shaped by lockdown life and a local community that was either elusive or illusory.
The third? A reluctant sign-off, inspired by the growing trend among nouveau locals to quietly abandon their seaside dream - not quite fleeing, but drifting inland in search of something else. More rural, more urban, or just… different.

PREMIERE | Michael son of Michael - New Signs of Life

Canopy is a Portuguese based label now in its fourth year, run by New Zealand born Emmanuel Dalton aka Sumosui. Reissuing forgotten tropical gems of synth infused 70s, 80s & 90s funk, disco, boogie and derivatives of these genres that emerged from the creative meeting pots of West Africa & The Caribbean. The other side of the label presents remixes of these vintage works, in an Afro-disco direction, through to contemporary house stylings as well as original works inspired by these motifs. Canopy artists include Captain Planet, Opolopo, Bosq, Aroop Roy, Kiko Navarro, Joi N’Juno and a host of colourful creative talent

Welcoming Lontra to the Canopy family, this release is the first in a number of exciting projects. Lontra is Brazilian born, Colombian based producer, and musician, Guille Katorzi. The inspiration and influences for this project were drawn from diverse sources, including disco, house, Nigerian boogie and Afrobeat. The instrumentals were written and produced in Bogotá with Guille laying down the guitar and bass parts which the songs were built upon. After sending the demos to vocalist Sir Jean (Voilaaa/Sir Jean & NMB Afrobeat Experience), he was thrilled to receive a warm response and travelled to France in 2023 to record vocals in the singers' hometown of Lyon. Returning to Bogotá, a selection of top brass musicians contributed their blazing horns to the project. 

Opening up, ‘Money, Money’ serves up a lively disco beat with percussive Afrobeat highlights, funky guitar licks and Afrobeat inspired horn parts, backed by an irresistible bassline, setting the scene for  Sir Jean's lyrical warning "money cannot buy your soul". Dropping some of the Afrobeat accents and staying closer to the centre line, ‘Life Is Movement’ is a dancefloor focused track where Katorzi's guitar hook pairs with a restless bassline over which Sir Jean's vocal delivery shines. 

The flipside begins with a sensuous overture on ‘Mysterious’. A loose Afro-beat and guitar syncopation provides an inviting space for the horn section's refrains and solos. The arrangement allows plenty of room for the listener to become intoxicated by the groove, before Sir Jean opens his heart with the emotive ode to someone we learn of only as..."Mysterious". Closing out proceedings with ‘The Lyon & The Hunter’, Sir Jean sings a warning wrapped in metaphors while Lontra throws down a club focused punch that dances between funk, house and Afro while the scorching horns set the lot aflame. The culmination of different inspirations and intonations imbues the project with a vivacity and richness in colour that reflects the multi-cultural assembly of players.

The mighty jungle cat roared with abandonment and pride as he ran free from the towering walls of the zoo which had kept him imprisoned for so long. It was no problem that he might never return, the wind blew prominently against his fur as he darted between the trees under the glow of the moonlight. It was desperately cold under the chill of winter but that had been the incentive for a fantastic escape, a driving force behind the evacuation which had been coming for oh so long. 

Apres Ski appears on a new compilation set for release on the 13th of March later this month. He features alongside an array of Irish counterparts on the first compilation being released by Dublin Digital Radio, a station which has championed up and coming Irish talent across the breadth of electronic music.

This was to be the first time that laboratory would be open to the public and the outside world. The walls were glimmering a pristine white tint whilst the greenery of the plant life which lurked behind the glass windows acted as a stark yet beautiful contrast to the clinicality of the environment. "001.1" had been a long time in the planning, it was important for a company as rogue and vagabond as theirs to at least pretend that those from the outside world were welcome within their sphere of chaos...

Nacieae appears on a new EP set for release on Tact Recordings. The imprint has moved from strength to strength across the last six years, this time they turn their focus towards the abstract elements of dub.

@mergelayers - the label run by Italian producers Natlek and Nobel - is starting a new monthly digi-only single series. The first offering comes from @circuit900, a Danish duo composed of Nicolas Hansen (Variete/Lattice) and Jens Madsen (Pastiche).

Operating somewhere near the intersection between house, electro and UK bass music, 'Bakheng' is a certified stomper with the most ferocious drums you'll have heard in a while.

The funny shaped creature marched prominently across the floor. It toddled back and forth between the four walls and looked surpised as it recreated the same delicately crafted route again and again. Shiu was his name, a thing of beauty which the rich had brought upon a great ship from overseas, he was far from home and very much alone amidst a kingdom of wealth, power and might. The trumpets roared in the courtyard outside as the guards marched upon the cobbles. The creature shivered up in the high tower. 

Thiago Nassif is set to release a new album on the widely praised record label, Foom. The imprint has become synonymous with quality having previously released music by the likes of Peter Zummo, Arthur Russell, NDF and more. Listen to the talents of the Brazilian maestro in collaboration with Arto Lindsay.

@moveltraxx's Street Bangers Factory series comes to a close this week with the ninth edition. Over the course of three years the label has been showcasing high octane dancefloor weapons from the likes of MikeQ, Mighty Mark & TT The Artist, Big Dope P, DJ Earl, Lockah, Morgan Hislop and loads more.

Teklife star @deejay-manny-2 - whose 'Greenlight' was one of the best albums of 2017 - contributes a whipcrack juke cut that's over before you've even had a chance to draw breath. The frantic rhythms of 'It's House' mark another worthy entry in his arsenal of footwork battle anthems.
