The second episode of 'Love Me Some Friends' delivers some of the most experimental and beautiful sampled house music around right about now, while introducing two new members to the Moonrise collective.

Our featured A2 cut flaunts another downright ridiculous baseline from Moonrise debutante, Marc Bianco. In trademark style, Marc flirts with dusty disco, soul and funk samples coupled with smoothly swung percussion and contemporary quirks, resulting in a genuinely excellent and thought through piece.

We have the pleasure of premiering the remix of Jus Tadi’s track “Love Like Glove” by the Berlin-based Spaniard Carlo. The remix will be featured along with two other tracks on Jus Tadi’s next EP of the same title.

Carlo took all of these elements from the track and integrated a percussion heavy groove, a solid bass line, well placed breaks accompanied with a kick that builds the track into a dancefloor ready dig. Carlo definitely brought a nice funky touch with his use of breaks in the the track which makes you groove all along it's play.

Jus Tadi’s “Love Like Glove” EP (including Carlo’s remix) will be released on July 21st on the Spanish label Sub_Urban.

The cold wind howled along the inside of the tunnel and she shuddered slightly beneath the strain of the chill. The mountain region was home to a flurry of short rocky pathways which went beneath the towering giants that loomed above. Carved into the rock these man made holes created an intricate crossing without the need for vertical climbing and exploration amidst the peaks. Outside the snow continued to fall heavily from the dark and gloomy skies...

'Understanding' is the B1 of Jesse Bru's latest offering entitled 'That Feeling', and serves as a perfect reminder of the class with which the West Coast producer is able to masterfully curate collections of moody yet soulful samples to create a vibe fit for any occasion.

Prior to writing this up, we listened to this track 10, maybe 15 times, trying to put our finger on what it is about this one that resonates with us so much. Is it the dark, jazzy Rhodes riffs? Is it the driving, Laurence Guy-esque low end? Or is it the stuttering percussion which pieces it all together? Actually, I think it's the vocals - repetitive but never getting old, the vocals breathe a whole new life into the track, bringing a raw, emotive feeling to the table. Really nice stuff - the kind of track that works just as well in your living room on a Sunday as it does on a dark, intimate dance-floor at 3am.

French imprint Pulse Msc is a pretty perfect home for this new EP, which is due to be released at the end of October.

South London based music heads Chris and Chris, AKA FYI Chris are back with a release on Toy Tonics. FYI Chris were cemented into the forefront of the Peckham music scene following a release on Rhythm Section and their work at local record store Rye Wax. The  talented duo manages the record store giving them an opportunity to share their eclectic music taste with everyone that visits.It’s one of those shops where you pick up a record and they suggest another. Before you know it you have a bag full sounds you had never heard before, but are not sure how you could have possibly lived without.

Today we premiere the third track of the EP titled Flat Psych.The track is driven by the rhythmic pattern of the cymbals, ticking hi-hats and swinging percussion. A vocal harmony that has been chopped and sliced brings the feel good vibes.  In a mix this one is perfect when you want to refresh a dance floor add some percussion and bring some positive energy. Fouk are back on Heist. Their new Truffles EP is packed with swinging goodness and comes with a jazzy Hugo LX remix.

After a busy period last year, Fouk have taken the time to experiment in their studio, focusing on expanding their sound and releasing only a handful of tunes. Their ‘Mating Call’ EP on their own label Outplay saw them explore the deeper side of things, while remixes for artists like Joey Negro on his own Z Records alongside Ron Trent saw them show off their production skills with a superb hi tech funk track.

On the flip, ‘Need my Space’ sounds like something you’d hear if Pépé Bradock and Charles Webster would get together in the studio: dreamy synth lines, lovely textures and weird electronics over an ever so sexy bassline.

The remix on this EP comes from Parisian artist Hugo LX, whose love for soulful electronic music and jazz are perfectly presented in his remix of ‘I’ll be down’. His version is filled with shimmering leads, synth hits and some lovely horns for good measure. For us, this is a case of jazzy deep house at its best.
