Thomas Brinkmann releases the first of a series of releases on Third Ear. The quality and originality of these tracks reminds of just how good a producer Thomas Brinkmann is. Techno it is, but nobody sounds like this. This, the first release is the Guy Martin ep, inspired by the British motorcycle racer and raconteur, Guy Martin. Brinkmann is himself a keen motorcycle rider and racer.

On April 20th, the label releases a limited run EP with two new entries in the series. This is a vinyl only release, absolutely no digital!

RED AXES – Der Sexa

 An elegant synthetic groove where lush female vocals, a genuine bass guitar line and plucked strings of an oriental persuasion gradually make an appearance. A build-up leading to a fantastic breakdown from the original track kept intact before the edit kicks back in. A distinctive and catchy edit that bears the Israeli duo’s unique signature sound.

The duo from Tel Aviv are long partners of I'm a Cliché. Edit Service #2 or #29 are memorable edits of the series. They also released 5 eps with the label, and their first LP Ballad of the Ice in 2014.

ROUGE MECANIQUE – Cosi Cosi 

Ominous synths, spoken word and an atmosphere that conjures images of dystopian horror. A slow pulse of a beat that gradually picks up and funcky guitar licks: there’s light at the end of tunnel as the edit goes from dark to hedonistic. 10 blissful minutes crafted with class by French producer Roman Azzaro under his Rouge mécanique alias.

This edit is the first collaboration between the Berlin-based French producer and I'm a Cliché.

The noise rattled within the jungle. The green leaves bounced in time with the beat as nature sprung to life in the morning sunshine. The damp rose between the trees turning to steam in the heat of the morning glow as wildlife scattered between the beanstalks. The sky was a dreamy shade of pink but it would soon be blue, much like the waters which surrounded the tropical island. This was paradise and a place called home.

It is with much delight that we are able to premiere an exclusive new track from Superpitcher on Hippie Dance. Keep an eye out for more Hippie Dance affiliated content in the coming weeks. That's a hint.

PREMIERE: Superpitcher - Burkina [Hippie Dance]

The eighth piece of The Golden Ravedays puzzle will be released on Hippie Dance in August 2017. Number 8 of the series introduces two tracks that will take you to the far side of somewhere you’ve never been before. They are both reminiscent of outer space blues playing spooky games in a dust bowl.

Side A features Tuesday Paris Texas a tastefully arranged track with vintage sounds passing nonchalantly through a wild western aural landscape. The music is announced like a cowboy movie dual complete with bar doors swinging on rusty nails in slow motion. Mournful guitar strings swirl over a steady horseback galloping beat, expanding into a full-on-fire dance track. Halfway through a woman’s haunted voice appears and disappears like an eerie siren, a gunshot is fired (was that a gunshot?), a man whispers “what!?” Tuesday Paris Texas is in no hurry to give an answer.

Wandering amidst the jungle he was surrounded by all sorts of creatures from far and wide. They had followed him this far, Cobby and his animals. Many of them had travelled from far and wide to stand in the grace of his presence, it seemed as if they were drawn to his being lby some sort of strange force which came from beyond. He was sent from the heavens, down to earth to save them from the torment and peril which was to come. Now as a hundred strong creatures of the world marched between the trees, they knew they would be safe. 

Patrick Conway is set to release a new heater of an EP on Fusion Diagnostics, a label with good promise. The EP comes equipped with prominent remixes from Luca Lozano and Brainwaltzera who reimagine the music in a whole new light.

Originally released by Warp Records in 1993, Nail’s ‘Cassiopeia’ has since turned into a timeless deep trance classic. Luca Lozano’s interpretation sits somewhere between a remix and an edit, swapping out the original drums for an 808 and some breakbeats. Originally intended only for personal use on the dance floors, Klasse Wrecks is pleased to announce it is now available for public enjoyment via a one-sided white label. The record is housed in a translucent orange sleeve, comes with a 42x60cm ‘Klasse Wrecks’ poster and is limited to 400 copies only.

Exclusive: Omar Santis - Cameo Appearance (Iron Curtis Remix)

After his A T.D.L.D Joint EP in 2014 and his Needs EP from 2016 Tokyo-based producer Omar Santis returns for the third time to Karakul, Phonica's sub-label for deeper House approaches. The artist's latest EP on label, Thursday Night Funktion, is a reference and dedication to the Omar's Tokyo club night Funktion, namely also based on the Funktion One soundsystem, which takes place at Oath in Shibuya. Coming with altogether four orginals, even though Cameo Appearance is a digital bonus track only, and Iron Curtis' remix for the latter named digital track. The Berliner, having a preference for proper House music – whether it's deep, soulful or with a disco-ish note – comes in with a multi-facetted take that contains darker chords, breakbeats and milling around vocal snippets, all highlighted by a lush and stalwart bass line and again creates a take that showcases his signature or trademark sound elegantly and in a sophisticated manner.

Omar Santis' EP Thursday Night Funktion was released on Karakul onn July 31st, 2020.
