EYX012 ‘Is This Future Now?’ [Future Now? Remixed] reinterprets, through a collection of remixes and unreleased materials, undiscovered sides of the dystopian futuristic world originally depicted in Alec Pace’s EP ‘Future Now?’ released last year in March 2022.

Stenny, Sobolik and Klahrk rework, mesh-up and deconstruct the three tracks composing the original EP

Stenny’s version of ‘Future Now?’ is a perfect late night club tool, developed around an incessant kick drum and effected vocals.

‘Lanes’, remixed by New Yorker Sobolik, get its syncopated attitude emphasised through a rhythmic session built around jumpy beats and atonal synthesisers.

Klahrk reshapes ‘Permutations’ in a slower paced and hard way pulling out a proper hard drum rave tool.

Closing the EP and complementing the release there is titled track ‘Is This Future Now?’ an unreleased track from Alec Pace himself where the producer experiments on lower tempo mixing original material and new elements.

Alec Pace said:
“Is This Future Now? pushes further the concept of dystopian future originally depicted in Future Now? EP.
New technologies and artificial intelligence will have an even deeper influence on our lives and on the way people interact with each other.
It has been a blessing to have the support and the contribution from such talented pool artists and producers such as Stenny, Sobolik and Klahrk who enabled bringing out further elements from the concept into their remixes.”

Welcoming another addition to the ever-growing NHS roster, we introduce the sounds of Matteo Coffetti with an erratic audio collage of sonic madness that toys with the fringes of Latin rhythm patterns and proto-fairy-tale sound palettes into a coagulation of ultra-syncopated bass music.

'Delphinine Capriole' takes form as a significant progression from much of Matteo's previous works through the increased broken sense of flow that can be found on this NHS debut. A seriously vast and intricate universe of sonic motifs and quarks can be found across each track, keeping each piece tightly woven into the last. A garbled sense of playfulness is offset by the fever dream presence that the release conveys so terrifyingly well. Matteo's sound feels like a deconstructed version of a previously existing genre of music from a distant world.

Siete Catorce - Susurro

Following last years remix of ‘System’ with Tiz East, Simkin returns to All Centre with ‘Toxin’ the second dose of his infectious hybridized club sound.

On the title track he picks up where he left off, riffing on the tropes of techno and club styles with ease and continuing to set the pace for what’s to come. Sprawling high pitched FX fly overhead veering in all directions whilst a cavernous chord pins down the tracks chugging beat as it lurches forward.

B-side ‘Anarres’ begins with an assured combination of deep 4x4 kicks and industrious percussion that are later joined by an angelic haunting melody and a picked bass line. As the track glides along further drums begin to syncopate, locking the listener deeper into a phantom breakbeat groove.

Toxin is available across all platforms from the 6th of March.

To celebrate the label’s second anniversary we’ve enlisted a crew of friends and family to put together a compilation which looks to consolidate the sound that the label has honed so far and envision where it’s headed in the future.

Additionally our in-house artist Bette Blanchard has created 8 artworks responding to the compilation, which have been riso printed on A3 to go in the home or studio <3

Far away from prying eyes and judgemental looks, the small and cosy venue offered safety and comfort; a space for those in the know to frequent during the nocturnal hours. The same familiar faces loosened their limbs on the dance floor while others sat in dark corners sipping from tall glasses, unaware of whether the outside world were sleeping or going about their daily activities. Time seemed to stand still in this place, as if it operated separately from the social constructs of the rest of the world. 

London's All Centre Records celebrate their 20th release with a two-tracker from No Future co-founder and Threads resident Rackz282. Titled DTRU, the release showcases the Bristol-based producer's knack for vocal manipulation and crafting meticulous drum patterns. Our pick 'Safety Mark' brings melodic vocal stabs and industrial washes, amidst a heavy kick drum and crisp hi-hat patterns that drive the track forward.
