Having turned out two hazy, driving EPs of muffled techno for Lobster Theremin sub-label Mörk, nthng arrives on Pacific Command for a rare two track exploration of gritty Dutch rave and rolling trance-y techno. 

Are You Here takes an up-tempo booted-bucket drum shuffle and steadily filters it's way into a skittering hat furore, all coated with epic pads and a demi-hoover rave stab. Full fire-alarm business. 

On the flip nthng takes serious influence from early trance and techno with the warehouse-crushing In The Afterglow. Constructed on the back of an early 90's hard house-esque alien synth patterns and rolling wildly into the deepest depths of the forest rave, until the long-awaited sunlight pads come bursting through the leaves.

Way (Rewalked)

The cosmic sky was illuminted by the faint flicker of glowing lights a million miles away. As she travelled in her fantastic spaceship she began to ponder the meaning behind it all, why it was here and how she should feel but as a mere speck of matter amidst the backdrop of it all. Astro intolleranza had been the name of her mission when based upon earth but now as she found herself floating across the sky an age away from home she began to think about her meaning. 

Ravechild is set to appear on the next Schleifen release. A record label he has been slowly been building momentum behind since February of last year. One to watch.

Dutch duo Artefakt launch their own imprint entitled De Stijl this February, initially with their own ‘Far and Wide EP’ with follow up appearances from Rhine and Cyspe. The imprint delivers a fertile ground for further exploration of their sound, as well as providing a home to affiliated projects and close friends.

‘Far and Wide’ opens up with pitter-patter drums whilst soaring pads join scintillating synths and a medley of subtle effects. With its rumbling percussion, murky bass and tantalising melody, ‘Ghost in the Machine’ takes things into darker territories before ‘Crystal Confessions’ employs a hypnotising aesthetic built on a syncopated rhythm and heavenly chords. Finally, the electro inspired ‘Levity’ concludes matters with a meandering bassline and wistful sequences.

The ever productive Conforce returns to one of his key home labels for another exploration of his prolific deep sea techno sound. His Haedron EP has a firm dance floor focus, designed to propel you ever further forwards. 

'Haedron' sets things off with smeared chords adding scale to the knocking beats. Hi-hats glisten like light beams penetrating the deep ocean and it’s a typically warm and comforting track from the Dutchman. 'Scorched Earth' has harder techno kicks forcing you forwards. An ecosystem of claps, hats and twisted pads bring plenty of energy and suspense to the party, then 'Muon Transverse Momentum' manages to mix up hugely expansive chords with pillowy but dynamic drums and oodles of cuddly reverb. Last of all, 'Quantum Phaser' ups the ante with some timeless dub techno vibes that mixes Basic Channel with Planet E to mesmeric effect.
