Four oddball "New Beat - not - New Beat" tracks produced by this young dj from Geneva (of the duo Ramin&Reda) for renewed appetite for dancing after the lockdowns... title track Let’s Dance is Reda’s 2021 take on the classic Bowie song, followed by an original new production Quinz Lord, in which he samples his girlfriend’s cat. On the flip he worked with Thomas Lavanchy on E-O, a song constructed around traditional Gabonese chanting before finishing off with an ode to Yello medley, mashed up to the deepest kick of the record!

Vivod label boss Ali Renault serves up this rather moody ep in memory of his late friend, Pete Mangalore of Human Shield fame. The five tracker kicks off with Northdown Acid, a brooding sprawl with elements of Italo and acid combined to beautiful effect. The amusingly titled Imminent Salad follows with its jacking strut groove, laden with lush pads. Peter Summoning breaks up the ep with its simple ambient suggestion. On the flip things get going again with slo mo stomper Forbidden Mind before title track Nawce Blizzard closes with it’s electro style hypnosis. Finally we’re left with an infinite cat purring locked groove to send you to sleep. Great ep from start to finish. All copies come with a free Peter plectrum and vivod sticker. The door swung wide open with a dramatic thud; in its frame a dark silhouette of a man loomed over the room. Most eyes turned to fix on the entrance, while others cowered beneath their tables, too afraid to make eye contact with the strange figure. He wasn't completely shrouded in mystery, however. In fact, many had been expecting the day he'd darken their doorway, but they never thought it would actually come. From the stories they'd been told, this situation could go one of two ways; they had to hope and pray that luck was on their side.

Last May, Moroccan-born, Geneva-based producer Reda Saiarh released his first EP, alongside production partner Ramin Salem, on Rotterdam’s Afrobotic Musicology. The release signalled the duo’s deftness for blending Eastern & Western samples, a trait that’s on display on Reda’s solo return to the label, Let’s Dance. Made up of four New Beat-inspired tracks, an era of music he was put on to through his Dad’s record collection, the release includes a contemporary flip on a Bowie classic, a homage to Yello and an acidic cut laced with Gabonese chants, in partnership with Thomas Lavanchy.

In the mid 90s in a small granny flat in a then rural Wicklow village a teenage producer kept himself busy making cassette tapes full of beats on his trusty s3000 sampler and an early wooden cased PC running Cubase v1. A world of music later comes this 8 track release for t-woc's home county label Remotetown. Consisting of live set extracts, MPC workouts and straight from desk to tape jams this collection of tracks are a connection to those days of constant experimentation with limited gear and endless imagination playing out like the flailing limbs seen through a strobe at a slow motion rave.

Royston Summers kicks off 2022 with his new two-tracker ‘Endless / Forever Dreaming’ this March.

After successfully launching the Royston Summers project with a run of singles in 2021 which steadily gained recognition from a widespread variety of DJ’s and tastemaker platforms in the world of contemporary Nu-Disco, the UK artist continues to develop his catalogue with some fresh, dance floor focused material here.

‘Endless’ leads the release and lays down an amalgamation of intertwining, modulating arpeggio lines atop crunchy drums, hazy lead synths lines and squelchy acid-tinged licks.

‘Forever Dreaming’ then shifts focus over to dreamy, resonant pad lines, plucked synth tones and an eighties leaning bass hook alongside dynamically developing percussion.
