Following on from 2017’s experimentally-focused EP, ‘Nucleus’, Axon finds Phantasy regular Ghost Culture return with an urgent, pristine slice of club euphoria, backed by a standout remix from Legowelt. The original version of ‘Axon’ powers ahead with a supremely physical bassline and a ghostly atmosphere that’s slathered with atmospheric choral touches, contrasted by punching, powerful drums. Each perfectly tuned element weaves a seriously impressive spell of charismatic, contemporary electro.

'Axon’s original form is then driven underground and transformed into something truly psychedelic at the hands of legendary producer and synth legend, Legowelt. Coaxing out one of his distinctive acid lines, the Hague resident unravels a heady, hazy atmosphere of creeping euphoria amid a spectral, twilight groove.

Axon (Legowelt Remix)

In celebration of Bold Monday's 10th anniversary we invited two of our favourite artists, Le Cliche (Gerard Ryan residing in Barcelona) and Colophon (Bas van Vuurde hailing from Haarlem) to compose six exclusive tracks. We are releasing those tracks as a special limited edition EP on vinyl.
Design of the outer and inner sleeve is by London based MuirMcNeil. We are longtime admirers of their work and were thrilled when Paul and Hamish agreed to design the artwork for this project. Final mastering was handled by Marco Spaventi in Amsterdam. The resulting digital audio files have been pressed on 140gr vinyl by Record Industry in Haarlem.

The tracks on this EP can be categorised as contemporary electronic music with a clear nod to its roots, while both artists opted for a different emphasis as well. Le Cliche composed the tracks Francophilia, Ergophobia and Chorophilia inspired by experimental postpunk and early synth pop. Colophon on the other side created Monospace and Methods of Synchronism referencing the more dance-oriented styles from 1980's New York and Detroit, with the track 574 Mondays serving as an ambient interlude.

The stars were sparkling brighter than ever tonight; a thick fog had hung in the air recently and they had become something of a distant memory. He dragged his telescope over to the window and gazed up at the sky above. On nights like this he would allow his imagination to run wild; to think of other life forms that may be looking back down at him from some far flung planet. 

The next release on Istanbul-based label Sitdownandance comes from local DJ, producer and label co-founder Dogukan Acar AKA Fluctuosa. Titled Carbon chauvinism, the record is based around the same subject - a new word meant to disparage the assumption that the chemical processes of extraterrestrial life must be constructed primarily from carbon, because its properties are far superior to other elements. The concept runs through the track names from 'Organic Compounds' and 'Silicates' to our pick 'Graphite Cube', while the sonic influences throughout the release call on Fluctuosa's influences in braindance and Drexciyan electro.

@roza-terenzi is releasing her debut album 'Modern Bliss' on @planeteuphorique next month. 'That Track' (Rewired Mix) is a wiggy dancefloor heater that propels forward on a pulse of robust percussion, wriggling synths and an intoxicating vocal.
