Steevio is perhaps one of the most influential electronic artists
you’ve never come across. With more than forty years of
knob-twiddling experience, this modular magician boasts
enough cable to bring you to the moon and back. Away from
the blinking racks, Steevio runs music festivals, like
Freerotation, manages record labels and generally paves the
way. Now this pioneer and Firescope are teaming up for a very special EP.
With Acatalepsy, this veteran dives deep into his machines before resurfacing with four tracks of melting organic
techno. “Tarantism” comes to life with drums, percussive textures that prove fertile ground for ever more
intricate patterns while orange blossom keys bloom. From understated chatter, a hive of beats soon forms around
“Cynefin” as dewy notes float on the warmth of a new dawn. The natural world is an integral part of these
compositions, the industrious movement of rhythms, the change and reshaping that comes with growth. Another
presence on the 12” is the musician himself and his own influences. These early inspirations come to the fore in
the hazy hi-hats of “Oxytocin” with its satellite-like bleeps and dreamy basslines that echo both the armchair and
club of sounds of 90s techno. Those bleeps grow ever more distant in the fragile finale of “Intonation.” A melody
precariously perches, thawing like ice, above delicate echoes that ghost behind modular bulges as drums fade.
Acatalepsy encapsulates the ephemeral nature of sound. Through this selection of one-off recordings, through
these live jam sessions, Steevio captures a palpable and primal energy with an expert’s ear. An EP that casts spells
from beginning to end, an EP from a true waveform wizard.

A rarity from the Thule vault sees the day of light once more. This release by then a young physics student with an unhealthy obsession for sci-fi novels, was and still is considered by many to be one of the Thule‘s finest. 

Plastic is today known for his beautiful atmospheric dub techno hymns under the pseudonym Yagya. His releases are a frequent visitors on critics best-of lists and for a very good reason. With releases on high-profile labels such as Delsin, Force Inc, Sending Orbs and Subwax under his belt, here is where it all began.
 
Thule Records is considered by many to be a pioneers in the field of dub-influenced techno music and was a starting point for many of Iceland‘s most renowned electronic musicians.

Ceri has already more than proven herself as a DJ and producer, holding down residencies at highly respected parties and drawing support for her music from some of the biggest names in the business. Now the London-based artist is spreading her wings by launching 'Find Your Own' as a vessel for her deep, punchy brand of house and techno. 

Life Holstee EP is the perfect opening gambit for her label; a life-affirming club-ready record that fuses the deepest, darkest sounds of Berlin, London and Detroit, featuring two original productions, backed up by a remix from bonafide NYC / Berlin legend 
Fred P. 

From first turning heads with her deep, tripped out 9-hour sets as a resident at infamous London after party Jaded, Ceri’s reputation as a captivating DJ has since taken her beyond London to ply her trade in Berlin, Mexico, Ibiza and plenty more besides, not to mention scores of festivals in between. 

These formative experiences fed into early releases on Save You, Midnight Social and 3am, and now, after time out to further develop her sound, the Life Holstee EP presents a woman at the peak of her production powers. Inspired by the empowering message of the Holstee Manifesto, the title track works abstract snippets of the manifesto’s text into a surging, bass-heavy roller pitched squarely at the heart of the night. Laden with Moog synths and modulated analogue drum rhythms, the inherent warmth of the track draws you in deeper with each successive bar. 

Fred P should need little introduction – for more than 20 years he’s been flying the flag for true deep house and techno alongside peers such as Jus Ed, Levon Vincent and DJ Qu. With a masterful control over the elements that Ceri provided him with, P turns out a refreshing variation of “Life Holstee” that works some playful analogue bass into the mix while ramping up the dubby effects and unfurling sumptuous, ethereal pads to create his signature ‘none-deeper’ sound. 

Ceri’s B-side production, “We Do”, takes a more sparse approach that places the drums at the front of the mix, using atmospheric touches and further disembodied vocal fragments to create a truly head-spinning cut steeped in sensuality for the discerning dancefloor. 

With early support coming in from the likes of Mr. G, D’Julz, Paranoid London and more besides, Find Your Own Records is off to a flying start. The promise shown by this first transmission points to FYO becoming a ‘buy on sight’ label housing the same alluring approach to true deep house and techno that Ceri herself is making her name with.

For the second release on their recently launched imprint, Circle Of Live is proud to present Live At Freerotation 2018.

The follow-up to Loop For Today is comprised of select cuts from an improvised live performance during this year's Freerotation festival.The artists took over the main stage with an unscripted, freeform live performance from open till close.

Offering a recorded first glimpse into the free-flowing experimental set-up currently touring top European venues, the EP is a collaborative soundscape with contributions from Dorisburg, Johanna Knutsson, Mathew Jonson, Sebastian Mullaert and Steevio.With no prior planning whatsoever aside from an agreed BPM, the recording presented on this unique release offers a snapshot into the imperfections and charm of truly improvised live performance - a refreshing notion in today’s overproduced musical climate. Conceptually, the EP can be understood as more of an open-ended argument in favour of spontaneity and collaboration than a collection of tracks.

Envisioned and created by Sebastian Mullaert, Circle Of Live represents an organic process which aims to detach itself from the habitual routines of dance music, to allow the weird and wonderful elements of collaborative performance to truly come to life. Utilising Sebastian’s unique live set-up which can accommodate any number of participants at once, artists drop in and out and collaborate as much or as little as they like.

COL002 captures the best of Circle Of Live at Freerotation, an odyssey of sound, with rich textures providing a grounding for playful melodic and percussive improvisations. Gently rolling kick and bass patterns drift in and out, carrying the listener along, whilst analogue call and responses showcase the pure synergy of the artistic interplay.

Sebastian Mullaert and Circle Of Live continue to tour Europe with select guest performers and have upcoming shows in Barcelona (Nov 24th @Nitsa), Amsterdam (Dec 14th @Shelter), Berlin (Dec 20th @Funkhaus), Munich (Jan 11th @Blitz), Brussels (Jan 26th @Fuse) and London (Feb 2nd @Village Underground).
