Australian raised, New York based producer Kate Stein makes her debut on Playground Records with ‘Mystic Saddle Ranch’ a powerful Ep full of hypnotic rhythms and beautiful landscapes, composed by 2 original mixes accompanied by high caliber remixes from Autarkic and Balam.
‘Mystic Saddle Ranch’ begins like a train barreling from far away with staccato arpeggios and modulations; like horns warning that it is in a hurry and the energy will not stop. Sensual and seductive at the same time, the track builds with an elegant current of sound. This takes us back to the beginning of electronic sounds, reminiscent of I Feel Love. The glam of Studio 54 crossover with some acid slow electro makes for an irresistible dance ripped dress.
The second track is called ‘Hi-Lo Motel’ and it gets more serious. A bouncing synth marks out a crossover bass with modulations seeping back and forth in alien tone. A smooth and rarefied flight, ecstatic, stealthy and nostalgic.
Autarkic remixes ‘Mystic Saddle Ranch’ by twisting it with a lot of funk machine. A hoarse, scratchy bass grooves recklessly as a dirty, dragged snare beats his side. Cowbells rattle for flavor as acid modulations elusively intersect. Pads of mystery take us to a break
that is quickly attacked again by the bass to unleash a brazen and shrewd dance.
Balam gives his own perspective about ‘Mystic Saddle Ranch’ closing the Ep and doing what he does best, mixing synthetic tribalism of acid modulations and frenetic percussion. His bass, his personal mark, pushes incessantly and cadency. He takes us on a sinuous and enchanting journey while chords scatter us through an open space towards infinity.

A debut Bleach Cult album "Summertime Whiteout" - the quirky ambient pop record that fantasizes about 1960s surf culture and romanticizes the never-ending dilemmas of teen life - got seven versatile interpretations from diverse Partyzanai comrades. Ement transformed "A Coke With Hollie" into a rockabilly dancefloor sweat version, while Five Rituals duo converted the same song into a broken deconstructed club track. Sound designer Shkema took as usually a slow groove "mushroom" house approach and Zoe Zoe created an AI-based leftfield vocal version. Black Feeling transformed "Acid Shades" into a balleric dancefloor tune and Mart created a dreamy guitar-synths version of "Kenny". Finally, Alex Krell adapts "Neon sugar" into a true rave-ish anthem.

Three years in the making only to be held up almost another year due to COVID, finally now seeing the light of day is this brooding monster of an EP by Brussels based Strapontin, aka multi-disciplinary artist Patrick Belmont.

Clocking in at over 35-minutes the record is almost album length and spans a multitude of depths and moods with elements of techno, new wave, rock 'n' roll, house and tribal…...all glued together with a sleazy atmosphere reminiscent of the electronic body music pioneered by Strapontin’s Belgian forefathers Front 242 and their German peers DAF.

Add to this a heads-down-no-nonsense darkroom beast of a remix by techno maestro Sascha Funke and the package is complete.

Strapontin provides us with some insight:
“It started with a desire to move away a bit from my 'dancefloor' side and go into more undefined fields, I wanted to work with blurry sensations that I can't understand. I like mixed feelings. Dramatex 300 is made of that ambivalent mood. The voice is saying 'I'm feeling empty' and 'I'm feeling healthy' at the same time. I like that paradox. Eunuque is a song but is also a character I will develop in a short movie (which will act as the 'music video' of the song). The Eunuque is a character full of anger yet he doesn't want to fight nor has he a target to aim at. A restrained aggressivity is boiling inside him/it that has no opportunity to escape from the body and gain release. The song is the fever he feels from these inner battles. I think Le Bain d'Huile and Anti-sceptical have the same slow and angry feeling. I'm proud of these tracks because they are a bit mysterious to me and it feels like they controlled me more than I controlled them.”

In the small village, whispers quickly became truth, ancient legends became scripture. Many stories had passed through the generations about the old man and those who'd come before him; he'd been painted as maleficent, as the strange offspring of evil powers. The anger that these rumours caused began to boil up inside him, but he found nowhere to direct it, instead he bottled it up and continued to keep himself to himself. Here, people thought these tall tales gospel, and so he ostracised himself, scorned by stories beyond his control. Perhaps he'd simply meant to exist alone.

Recorded over three years (then sadly delayed for another year due to Covid) the next release from the Invisible Inc camp is finally seeing the light of day — and it's well worth the wait. Coming courtesy of Belgian multi-disciplinary artist Strapontin, who follows releases on Hard Fist, Optimo Digital Dance Force and tablon, the four tracks (backed by a remix from the ever-dependable Sascha Funke) see him depart from the dancefloor, instead exploring fuzzy rhythms and sleazy EBM and punk influences.
