Panic in Detroit

We are back again with another edit from @jabba-2-3 who has been deejaying for over three decades. Holding the residencies at the "moon" indie raves and the Rennes "made.festival". He has chosen to edit the cult classic  from Coldcut feat Yazz and the plastic population "Doctorin' the house"  from 1988 that we could not resist.  

Why is the song important? Coldcut is a British electronic music duo formed by Matt Black and Jonathan More. Pioneers of sample-based music and remix culture in the UK. Coldcut were among the first producers to treat sampling as an art form. They didn’t just loop beats—they layered samples from TV, movies, spoken word, and other records to build complex sonic collages. Founders of Ninja Tune, an influential independent record label that has shaped not only UK underground scene but an entire generation and beyond. 

At a time when house music was still largely underground and centered in Chicago, Doctorin' the House was one of the first UK tracks to fuse house rhythms with British pop and hip-hop sensibilities.

It helped popularize house music in the UK and Europe, setting the stage for the Second Summer of Love (1988-89) and the UK rave scene. 

Doctorin' the House showcased how sampling could be playful, political, and danceable, all at once.

In his own words...
I chose to edit this 1988 track because it was one of the first tracks (which I found so bizarre at the time) that introduced me to house music and later acid house. And I love this sample-driven style.

Interface Palm returns to Broken District with a new two-tracker crafted for the dancefloor.

After making a name for himself as a producer and DJ in Brisbane, Interface Palm moved to Melbourne in search of a new creative environment. The move paid off: his debut EP Four To The Flora was released on Beats Of No Nation and received support from independent outlets like Bolting Bits, eventually catching the attention of the French label Broken District. He first contributed a track to the Brokenbits Vol. 2 compilation, before solidifying his place on the label with Curated Space—a mini LP that showcased his full range, moving between broken beat, house, cosmic jazz, and hip-hop, and featuring a collaboration with Melbourne-based bassist and producer Horatio Luna.

Now, Interface Palm is back on Broken District with a new double single designed for warm, hazy, late-night atmospheres.

The title track, “Digital Evening”, is a deep-house anthem driven by jazz-infused harmonies reminiscent of the modern UK fusion-jazz scene. It’s a smooth transition piece—from sundown into the night—blending afro-house grooves and lush deep house textures, all underpinned by heavy, saturated low-end treatment.

On the flip side, “Digital Day” offers a more offbeat take on broken beat, shaped by sun-drenched 90s lo-fi synths. Acting as a daytime counterpart to “Digital Evening,” it leans into a more mental, introspective space—yet still pushes enough low-end energy to keep the dancefloor engaged until the very end.

To kick off the autumn season, Duro Label presents a masterful collaboration from St. Petersburg’s Radial Gaze and Munich’s Dominik Marz. Together, they present the "We Can Feel It" EP, a three-track odyssey that merges mesmerizing global influences with a propulsive, dancefloor-ready spirit.

Known for his genre-bending and geographically diverse sound, Radial Gaze brings his unique vision to the EP. He’s previously left his mark on esteemed labels like TAU, Feines Tier, and Hard Fist. Meanwhile, Dominik Marz, returns to Duro after a string of highly-praised releases on Innervisions, Exit Strategy, and Belters. Together, they create a sonic fusion that is both an injection of fresh energy and a testament to their combined artistry. 

The journey begins with the title track, "We Can Feel It", a secret weapon for the dancefloor. It’s an energetic cut driven by a solid drum foundation, where a schizophrenic melodic line dances wildly over a comforting piano, creating an exhilarating push-and-pull of pure euphoria. 

Next, "Simple As You" takes the EP into more trancer territories. A booming bassline and mantric synthesizers create a sense of vast space, as chopped-up vocals and acidic synths shimmer in the distance. 

The release concludes with "Moonface", a beautiful, melancholic, and energetic track. Melted melodies and ghostly synthesizers float over a solid beat that constantly pushes you forward. It’s a hypnotic and evocative cut that perfectly balances emotional depth with a relentless forward momentum.

"Origami" is a famous Japanese art of folding paper into a decorative figure, and is now also the fruit of the musical collaboration between Barcelona-based producer Ludviq and Australia-based multifaceted Poulper. 
Indeed, born from the recent time spent in the studio by both producers, their new EP testifies to the symbiosis between Bonkers Music´s Ludviq and Quixotical Records´Poulper. Together, they deliver the singles "Origami" and "Crystal Cactus", both tracks blending each producer's quintessential musical wizardry. In their new record, Ludviq´s dark psychedelic slow techno textures meet Poulper´s more atmospheric and deep organic layers, which sounds as enigmatic and thought-provoking as an original Japanese origami. 
After a first successful single release "Cosmovision" via Golden Soul Records in 2022, THISBE Recordings is delighted to release Ludviq & Poulper first collab EP, both on a limited vinyl edition and on all digital platforms. The record also includes remixes by Calypso Records´head Thomass Jackson and French proto house and new new beat sensation Kubebe.

Deep within the distant galaxy, a spaceship cruised under the glow of exotic stars. It's metallic frame glimmered beneath the shimmering light as it surged forwards through time and space. It was embarking upon a spectacularly perilous odyssey, a journey into the abyss. It's passengers sat eagerly watching their planet vanish out of sight through bubble windows. They made jokes amongst one another, cracking a smile as appropriate, but they were scared. 

Strip Steve might be a familiar name to some, his evolution through sound has seen him release music on the likes of Boys Noize records. However, more recently he has returned to a sound slightly more humble and orientated towards the smaller room. Listen to a track from his new release on Man Band, a Berlin based label.

@90process 'Cops Call' is a steadfast broken electro roller tinged with jazzy accents and doped on old-school 303 arpeggios unfolding at breakneck speed. Time to do a bunk, the coppers are on your heels. Step up the gas and hug the sharp turns, this one's bumpy as a Bullitt-like car chase in the steep streets of San Francisco. This rugged slab of punk tech feels the smell of burnt tyres, late night snacks and dubious nightly odours together. One for the ruffnecks.

For it’s seventh release, Banlieue Records showcases the work of Budapest-based producer AIWA through a mini album full of dreamy and ethereal sounds. With a subtle nod to the sound design of previous decades, AIWA is channeling inspiration from some of the more cosmic genres but never compromises on a forward thinking attitude that means this release can’t be pinned down to a specific genre, rather, it is another example of the unique music Banlieue Records is currently nurturing. From beatless tracks that are anything but static to cuts with a more club-oriented groove, AIWA’s sound is on the surface a stripped down, no frills a air. Without compromising on sounding lush, his productions invite the listener to dive deep into the worlds evoked in each track. These often convey the sense of upwards motion, while pulling the listener into a whirlpool of emotion. Already out !
