I hit another lull in terms of creativity, so I am especially delighted to get this one finished. You may recognise the progression if you've listened to my broader catalogue, and this remains one of my absolute favourites, it stems from a time where I was counting my lucky stars for various reasons.

Liquid Neon

The tree grew tall and proud - who knew the sights it had witnessed across the years. Most days were but a breeze, there was little to observe but for the flying birds and the dreamy tropics which surrounded the tall branches and the deep green leaves. It was called 'Aftetto'... At least that was what it had been kindly named by the owner of the garden - he had planted it and watched it grow across the decades as he dreamed of life far away. The villa on the hillside was alone and quiet. The tree stood high. 

Stijn Sadee is set to release a new EP on Kitjen as he appears on the imprint for the first time. The label has been held in high acclaim featuring music by the likes of Suzanne Kraft, Fantastic Man and more. His appearance does not disappoint and comes with an extravagant Gerd Janson remix.

Hailing from Málaga, Spanish footwork duo @bsnposse are gearing up for their new album, having previously released on labels including Modern Ruin and Slime Recordings. Out 6th June on their own @iberianjuke imprint, 'Take Me Back To The South' marks the label's first ever vinyl release.

A love letter to Chicago's footwork culture (check the DJ Rashad homage on the front cover), it's home to eight sample-heavy 160bpm stormers, sprinkled with a liberal dusting of Mediterranean sunshine.

The mud was deep and the trenches were full with men who had begun to fight valiantly against the evil invaders. From outer space they had landed upon earth and were spreading havoc and terror upon a planet of innocent, vulnerable victims. They cast their lost acid on towards the weak and hoped to lure them upwards back to the blackened skies from which they'd come. The night was ominous and dark - nobody wanted to be at war let alone with the terrestrials from beyond the beyond. 

DOTHEDU is set to release his second EP on his own Senseverse imprint. Live acid cuts recorded in one take, no reworks and no added tweaks. Real live shit with vocals straight for the club.

Victor Valiant is a brand new musical pairing of two friends who'd been meaning to go in the studio together for many moons... but life got in the way, as it always does.

Composed of Keith Tenniswood (aka Radioactive Man) and Freerotation resident Suade Bergemann, the duo's debut EP 'V is for Victor' is out 6th July on Keith's new Asking For Trouble imprint. Recorded over two three-day sessions at Suade's mega studio deep in the north-east, it's home to seven tracks of supremely funky electro/techno cuts.

This was a dangerous state of crisis, the town was under attack from an external drone which left little but an echo in their ears and a foreboding tone amidst the air. It had come last night, late under the cover of the blackened sky. It had swept into town from the East and had left a fury in its wake. The beast from the East they called it, the devil in disguise under the pretence of friendship. The sunny weather had soon been replaced by a relentless storm and they must now escape the noise.

Solar & Brother Nebula have collaborated on a new EP for Legwork - a fierce assortment of abstract electronics and weirdo dance. Brother Nebula then takes it apart and reconstructs. Good times.

@sunareht returns this Friday with his second EP for Parisian label @paradoxeclub! It's called 'Sagas' and it's honestly one of the freshest things I've heard in ages. Over four tracks, he reimagines the golden age of filter house through a distorted club lens, influenced in equal measures by Baltimore club, classic trance breakdowns and the 'weightless' movement coalescing around the Different Circles label.

We're premiering the closing track 'Saga', which builds through finely-chopped sample stabs, only to refuse any sense of easy closure, resulting in a state of permanent, unresolved euphoria.

Oppressed, submerged, but packed with tremendous energy — that is how Out of Fashion Boys feels about Beijing as a city, as well as the way it defines itself as a label. As the political and cultural center of China, Beijing radiates such a unique charm that one simply cannot find another Chinese city similar to it. Though Beijing is not the most economically developed city in China, all the cultures that it cultivates will never be completely consumed by market economy. It is able to protect or even hinder a culture from commercialization until its next big explosion. Take the Beijing rock’n’roll scene as an example — it is hard to believe that there is almost a 3-decade gap between its two major explosions. Out of Fashion Boys managed to gather a diverse group of musicians into one record, with assistance of the unique energy of Beijing City. 12 groups of artists the label has previously invited to perform live have come together this time to work on the compilation Out of Fashion Boys Vol.1.

In this compilation, you will hear the creation by producer Zean, who is currently based in Shanghai. As a Chinese himself, he contributed to this compilation the most clever sonic take on the atmosphere of the Chinese capital. 
You will hear Berlin producer Goro, who sampled China Airlines’ public announcement in his track.
Paris-based producer King doudou set fire to the compilation with lush club beats that are spiced up with oriental flavors. 
Wrack from Tokyo titled his own track as Hot Pot.

We're back at the track premiére biz today with a preview from the German producer THIRDWORLDLABOUR's debut LP titled 'Wiederkunft Eternal', soon to be released (precisely this Friday, December 11th) on Prague-based experimental label and mix series UNIZONE. Previously, the artist has long been part of the 76666 crew who has been releasing different sampler compilations on their channels since 2018, many of which features contributions by him. The track we're presenting today, namely Within, is the first of ten articulate sound design experiments that bring around a warm sense of wonder and intimacy in a desolate, icy-cold digital landscape.

THIRDWORLDLABOUR's work, whose title refers to the German word for 'return', evokes by means of grime-influenced, dynamic electronic compositions a dystopian/visionary world that sounds as kind as dreadful, thanks to the producer's ability to fine-tune the music outings to a very tense emotional progression. The eternal return the LP refers to in its name also indicates a dematerialized idea of timelessness, in which recurrent sound solutions are endlessly rearranged in always fresh and breath-taking moments, at times brutal and at times delicate.







Other than careful sound design, blasting percussions, and prominent bass components, the main tool in the producer's palette is sure to be found in the use of vocal chops and manipulations. Surely inspired by some of the recent years' all-out masterpieces such as Visionist's Safe, the voice is richly manipulated and looped in order to create the backbone of all the release, which is then supplemented by variegated forms of arpeggios, chanting, ethereal ambiance, and much more. Precisely as described before, the digitally-processed voices become instruments of machine-like cold and cutting-edge precision, while retaining the warming embrace - albeit figurative - of human interaction.

The record will be released on Bandcamp in a limited edition of 50 cassettes with design curated by w.rong.corp.s - affiliated visual artist Ver, while the mastering of the tracks (plus additional mixdown) has been curated by Wim Dehaen.
