The fifth EP of the British label Paisley Dark, wisely curated by John Paynter (SXDNS123), presents Robert Folkesson aka The Machine Soul. For the occasion, the Stockholm-based producer brought the single “Norra Linjen”, which comes accompanied by frenzied remixes by MAN2.0 (SXDNS081/FREEDL002) and Mindbender.

Having appeared previously on EKORD, When Disco Goes Wrong, and Machine Soul Records (yeah, you guessed right, it’s his own label), Robert’s debut on Paisley was actually last year on “Paisley Dark Edits Box 3”, a two-track “name your price” Bandcamp-only release. The positive feedback his track received paved the way for his return.

Premiered here, the original brings Robert carefully handling heavy acid weaponry and successfully pairing it with deep and dreamy synth layers plus ethereal and mesmerising pad lines. The result is a well-constructed emotive cut devoted to triggering big smiles on your face while dancing to it.

We welcome Spanish producer Javier Gómez AKA JG Outsider -  No stranger to the series, Javier started his career as a DJ in the 80's, transitioning to music production in the early 90's and having played alongside the likes of Orbital along the way, there is more than enough reason for us to be excited about this follow up to his previous contributions to the guest mix series in outings; #118 & #173

The sound of the live is his vision of the INDIE/EBM movement that he identifies with this style and looks to transport you to the 80´s with powerful and dark bass lines, energetic rhythms and silky synths progressions throughout.

Style of Sound - Pollylove 130 - 19/08/2022

Based out of Berlin, the franco-german producer, DJ & multi-instrumentalist always keeps one hand in the Indie Dance and Post-Disco world, while the other one is wandering in more psychedelic, cosmic and spiritual realms, blended with sonic-influences gathered from his numerous travels around the world - A winning combination that’s seen him release music on imprints such as Eskimo Recordings, Heimlich Music, Playground Records among others.

Over the last years, Franz Matthews has been digging deeper into numerous spiritual paths, leading him in wanting more and more to join the dots between electronic music and spirituality. ‘The Question‘ was the first output of this new journey, it is a spiritual and hypnotic electronic track constructed as a guided meditation, that Matthews made in collaboration with well-known french ‘happiness coach’ Jonathan Lehmann (Les Antisèches du Bonheur).

Franz Matthews is keeping himself busy managing his HIFI/LOFI Records & Publishing label, running his MOWD Production Studio -  is a resident DJ at Tsugi Radio.

The road stretched for miles and miles, disappearing beyond the horizon where the land met the sky. Dusk was beginning to set in, turning the sky a mixture of pink and orange hues that swirled and danced over head. The highway cleared and silence began to fall, the road ahead belonged to them now, it was theirs for the taking. Pedal to the metal, the car quickly gathered steam, picking up dust as they headed for nowhere in particular. There was no need for a destination, it was all about the journey.
