Pigs recite news, cows wear polka-dot, Lanterns paint rainbows, a peculiar lot. Kulture Galerie, a surreal decree, Where whimsy and folly dance merrily.

Elephants strum guitars, as snails scribe verse, A tale of Tramic, lanterns, and whimsy diverse. In this fanciful land of peculiar spree, Kulture Galerie, a nonsense jubilee.

DJ Graymo’s Years of Life Loved is the first offering of all his favourite sounds formed and shaped into five tracks. The project has been long in the making with precious offerings dedicated to the High Priests and Sounds of Ambidonk—a love letter to home and everyone in between.

The closing track also features label boss and long-time love Seb Wildblood offering cosmic consulting.

There was more than meets the eye when it came to the city. For strange wonders lurked in places unexpected. Behind closed doors there was music to be made, a new kind of noise which would soon travel the world bringing hope and a sense of resistance to the chosen few who sought to hear it.

For this was like nothing which had ever come before. How could it be after all the great city had been through? The trials and tribulations were rooted in the DNA of the music itself. Detroit, a belongingness to the sound of a city which has burnt its bridges and risen from the ashes once more.

Ivaylo is set to release a new EP on Lab Cleaning Jams, a record which features a rugged slice of Detroit Electro Funk, reminiscent of the old school era. It is rounded off with a remix from Christian Engh.

@WillHofbauer debuts on Aus Music with ‘Four! Beats!’.
Will Hofbauer has been carving out his idiosyncratic niche in dance music for the past few years, with releases on Rinse FM, Wisdom Teeth and his Third Place seeing critical acclaim as well as high-profile co-signs from the likes of Ben UFO, rRoxymore, Lukas Wigflex, Dr Banana and now, Will Saul and his indomitable Aus Music imprint.
Hofbauer’s ‘Ah! Bats!’ is up first on ‘Four! Beats!’, featuring a speedy dembow beat, rowdy vocal chops, and call-back, signature use of subtle animal sounds that fit right in. The aptly named ‘8 Bar Baile’ is next, a baile funk track built up like 8 bar grime, swapping rhythm in every section for a high-energy, peak-time affair.
Smooth and introspective house cut ‘Scrumble’ then sees whimsical bursts of synths splash on top of delicate drums before Will Hofbauer’s ‘Moss On’ dives deeper underwater with loose arrangement and tripped-out instrumentation.

Cyphon Recordings continue their remarkable run of form with a brand new six track mini LP from Aussie powerhouse Ewan Jansen. With three decades of experience permeating his productions, ‘Chroma Sea’ is a signature Jansen voyage - crisp, colourful, groove-heavy house and techno anchored by an analog weight. A veteran of the scene, Jansen cut his teeth in the early '90s producing hardware-saturated house music drenched in depth and feeling. Having released on the likes of Moods & Grooves, Going Good, Freerange and Butter Sessions across the years, he’s also been captaining his own label Red Ember Records since 1997.
 
Leading the ‘Chroma Sea’ odyssey is 'Salt Circuit', a squelching '90s tech house leaning track with a Detroit influenced touch, where bounce and power balance expertly with intricate synthwork and synapse-firing breakdowns. 'Brinewave' and 'Cybercanisco' follow, the former a head pickling, bass heavy, atmospheric electro joint. The latter a blinding yet blissful, Motor City channelling techno creation, that burrows deep down into your soul.
 
On the flip, 'Hydronexus' swallows you up in with a hit of absorbing space-age techno that envelopes your brain in layer upon layer of tactile sounds, before 'Faulty Gelfling' fires you out the other side into a twisted, robo electro hyperspace. Closing out the release and bringing you back down to earth is 'Surabaya', where soft pads swell and oscillating synths wash over you, as that grooving low-end just keeps on rolling.

For the first Klasse Wrecks release of 2024, the label looks back to 2020 and a previously digital only track from label co-owner Mr. Ho. During the first lockdown of covid Mr. Ho released '000Baby' as part of the digital 'Homeboys' EP alongside Luca Lozano. An alternative version popped up on the 'Michaelsoft' album in 2021 but the much lauded original has never seen the light of day on wax....until now. The first 10inch on Klasse Wrecks also features a suped and sped up interpretation from Om Unit, who expertly increases the pressure with deft 808 bass subs, a half time swagger and dubbed out atmospherics.

Mr Ho - 000BABY

Arvid Wretman, AKA Your Planet Is Next, has assumed the role of musical storyteller with a serious mean streak of DIY electro.

Wretman’s latest album tells its tale through the eyes of an imagined anti-hero. He conjures up the gritty underbelly of an over-populated megalopolis; a world of dilapidation, ruin and sin, where stiletto knives are a dime a dozen and our titular protagonist, the FOG MAN, stalks the streets.

In an oddball tradition, there’s an absurdist, left-of-centre flex coursing throughout. This is the Stockholm native at his strangest, radiating fuck-off attitude and an embrace of imperfection as he maximises the potential of a limited studio setup.

Bleak spoken word lyrics only serving to bolster the narrative storytelling, ‘Sad Fog’ paints a vivid picture of hardships endured, while ‘Fog Power’ resembles the inner dialogue of a man teetering at the edge of sanity. Think corrosive, industrial fug and rugged, tape-damaged torque.

Through ‘No Fog’s menacing machine funk to the visceral, downbeat sleaze of ‘Freaks’ and queasy, Wolfenstein-sampling 'Eisenfaust’, the FOG MAN deals that dystopian gear in spades.

Ready 2 Fog will be released as full album on tape and digital with a limited edition of 7" lathe cut vinyl containing 'Look 4 The Fog' and 'Ready 2 Fog'. All physical copies are accompanied by an exclusive 24 booklet with visual works from the world of the FOG MAN.
