Deluxe version of “Sans Dormir” album gathers, in addition to the LP itself, a bunch of 13 rare tracks from Bot’Ox. 13 tracks produced between 2005, when Cosmo Vitelli and Julien Briffaz officially started their collabroation as a duo, and 2013. Some of them were previously only released as vinyls and could not be found anymore (Lada Rock, Grand Central...), others were only available on digital platforms (Arrogant American Pig featuring the great Kim Fowley, Perfect Pair featuring Foremost Poets, Theme from Mineurs 27...), some others are totally new (Cool Long While featuring Judy Nylon, I Just Can’t Help Myself…). 

Unlike the LP that was conceived as such in a short period of time, no cohesion is to be found in this additional material except from the very own musical Bot’Ox identity. Mixing the codes of club music, krautrock, movie scores, pop, Bot’Ox speak the language of restless nights, whether you spend them on deserted dancefloors, endless roads or in lonely bedrooms.

La version “deluxe” de “Sans Dormir” rassemble, en plus de l’album lui-même, une compilation de treize morceaux rares de Bot’Ox. Treize morceaux produits entre 2005, l’année où Cosmo Vitelli et Julien Briffaz ont officiellement débuté leur collaboration en tant que duo, et 2013. Certains d’entre eux n’étaient présents que sur vinyles, disques aujourd’hui épuisés (Lada Rock, Grand Central…) ; d’autres n’étaient disponibles qu’en digital (Arrogant American Pig avec le grand Kim Fowley, Perfect Pair avec Foremost Poets, Theme from Mineurs 27 de la BO du film du même nom…)  ; d’autres encore sont totalement inédits (Cool Long While featuring Judy Nylon, I Just Can’t Help Myself…).

Contrairement à l’album qui a été conçu en tant que tel sur une courte période, ce supplément n’a pas de cohérence d’ensemble, si ce n’est l’identité musicale très particulière de Bot’Ox. Mélangeant les codes de la club music, des bandes originales de cinéma, de la pop, du krautrock, Bot’Ox parlent le langage des nuits sans repos, qu’on les passe sur des dancefloors dépeuplés, sur les routes qui ne finissent pas ou dans les chambres solitaires.

Victor Flash vs Nelly Furtado - Say it right (Hastro mashup)

Banger alert! Here is the second premiere of the week : after their "Glory Of Romance" LP out on Other Voices Records in 2013, new wave band Nouvelle Phénomène from Budapest is about to unleash a new EP on long time fav and unstoppable label Bordello A Parigi. It features a remix of the title track by Vanzetti & Sacco​ and one of B side "Au Fond De Mon Coeur" by Rotterdam's Machinegewehr, the latter being exclusively brought to you by LYO! Solid club beat, great synths and epic melodies, French vocals and laser noises, what's not to like? "Cruel Game" will be out on Bordello A Parigi early October.

PREMIERE : Nouvelle Phénomène : Au Fond De Mon Coeur (Machinegewehr Remix)

The haunting flowers would struggle to survive the winter months. The ghost orchid would lose its blossom and the cascading petals would fall quite abruptly to the forest floor below. Nature was a cruel mistress by which the jungle must abide, everything was in its place and right where it was supposed to be. The ghosts of winter would soon run riot through this empty trees whilst the animals slept in hibernation between the glow of the distant moon. 

Benjamin Fröhlich recently released music on Permanent Vacation. Now, it is his turn to be remixed, as is so often the way. Lauer, Shan, Jack Pattern and Cleveland all step up to reimagine his work. The latter is who's version we bring to you.

The difficulty with language is that it can be hard to articulate, decipher and change. What is said cannot be erased and taken back, it stands firm in the passage of time for a life to come. This is why such holy books have paved the way across the ages, they cannot be taken back. Nowadays it is all about a turn of phrase, depicting what may come next and rephrasing that which was mistaken. Perhaps in the future we will learn better, and take our time. 

Teniente Castillo is set to release a new EP on Playpal Music. Operating out of Madrid he creates tripped out electronic music rife with drive and bass. He is remixed by Undo.

As he charged victoriously towards the finish life he reflected upon a charmed life. Hardship? No. Pain? No. This was all far too easy, in the distance he could hear the echo of a tannoy blaring out loudly to a crowd of onlookers.

All that nonsense got old pretty freakin' fast when you were running your socks off upon the bareback concrete in extreme temperatures. Little did they know that he would be just fine. 

Kiwi features as part of the latest edition of the Mushroom House series on Toy Tonics Records. He contributes alongside Ponty Mython, Tom Trago, Munk and The Barking Dogs.

PREMIERE: Kiwi - We Are Here [Toy Tonics]

Frank Wiedemann - co-founder of Innervisions and one half of German deep house duo Âme alongside Kristian Beyer - is launching a new label called BIGAMO, focused on music from outside the house spectrum.

Out 8th March, the first record on the label comes from Fred und Luna - an alias for German artist Rainer Buchmüller - who has previously released an EP on Optimo and remixed Prins Thomas for Innervisions. New album 'Im Klanggarten' is rather different - a new style which Buchmüller describes as 'Elektrokraut' or 'Krautelektro' - essentially modern Krautrock with an emphasis on beautiful melodies and modern electronic sounds.

We're premiering the opening track, 'Minisong'. It's a haunting, moody number with a slowly evolving melody that could soundtrack a misty morning by the lake.

PREMIERE: Frank und Luna - Minisong [BIGAMO]

Wolfstream was made in wintry St. Petersburg and absorbed the "cold of abandoned manufactories and the sound of empty railroad depot". The duo makes hasteless and mesmerising music full of analog synths, percussions and live basslines. On this cut taken from their new four track EP, they collaborate with a certain Mister Gray. Creeping out of the darkness of one of those ghost town monoliths above, it fills up with swirling ethnicity, military snares and sitar styled vibes. Coiled and apprehensive and ticking like a Soviet time bomb, it grows more menacing as you step closer. Beware.

The website was a maze. Perilous black holes lurked behind every stray corner, the risk of deletion a destiny beneath the code. Here he felt at home, in the furthest corners of the web, his computer friends were with him now. Tucked away in the corner of his bedroom he began to laugh chaotically as the code flickered and flashed rampantly across his screen. How could a system of such strength be tampered with by such ease. He was the hacker amidst the midnight hour. The rest watched on. 

UNDO's "Disconnect" first emerged towards the tail end of 2016. Now Factor City return with an array of remixes from friends and associates.

PREMIERE: Undo - Computer Friends (Cabaret Nocturne Remix)[Factor City]

Rubin Et Le Paradoxe are French.  So French that we can't find any promotional bio in English, but that doesn't really matter.  Certain bits of inforation coupled with listening to their music are pretty universal;  their love of Pink Floyd and the Alan Parsons Project for example and their love of off the wall dance music which permeated the late noughties. 
A stalwart of that sound and brilliant label in their own right,  Her Majesty’s Ship have called upon their services to release their next EP. As well as that, the Mighty Get a Room! have volunteered their services for remix duties.
The beginning of the track opens like the start of a Disney Film while gorgeous spoken word vocals before normal service gets resumed.  
Get a Room! remixes are rarer than hen's teeth and are genuinely and totally some of the best productions around.
It's always exciting getting the chance to write up a track as good as this.  Psychedelic, with on point production and in a language which British writers don't understand on account of being unable to speak any other language than English. That aside, this track is Killer.

ZAKMINA - SHAMAN THEME SONG - MOO MOONSTER REMIX

Within the whole retro-mania of '80s induced club music, you rarely find an artist being as deeply immersed in the affective reverberation of old synthesizers as her. Jennifer Touch showcases her immaculate ability to build dance floor-ready bridges between '80s synth-aesthetics, post punk and wave, as she returns to Riotvan with her second artist EP.

Honouring the original by taking in almost everything of the source material, the undisputed one man army Llewellyn, retouches “Chemistry” into a vibrant, dance floor chugger, focussed on Touch’s Postpunk- and Wave-kissed dreariness. Highly recommended!

Premiere: Jennifer Touch - Chemistry (Llewellyn's Retouch) [Riotvan]

Λένα Πλάτωνος (Lena Platonos) is a Greek musician, pianist and music composer. Her third solo album, ‘Lepidoptera’ was produced in 1986 and reissued by Dark Entries in 2018. Inspired by a scientific book on butterflies she found in a trashcan one day, the compositions follow minimalistic motifs and carefully-staged soundscapes. Lena narrates each song in deadpan fashion, skillfully reciting her surreal Greek poetry.
We’ve recruited 4 contemporary Greek producers to remix their favorite tracks from ‘Lepidoptera’. First up is “Cyaniris” remixed by Anatolian Weapons who delivers an enchanted late-night journey through the New Wave forest. Next is “Araschnia Levana” remixed by Pasiphae who speeds up the pace with machine driven melodic electro pulses. On the B-side we have June remixing “Cyaniris” twirling the track into a complex deep sea dive with lush drum kicks and pads. Closing out the EP is a remix of “Τα Γενέθλια Ή Aporia Maturna” by Morah who leads us to the underworld of Hades via sinister squelches and full-on apocalyptic rave breakdown. All songs have been mastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The jacket is a reinterpretation of the original ‘Lepidoptera’ cover, isolating the illustration of the butterfly/woman designed by Eloise Leigh.
