Manhead singles collection is a collection of all vinyl singles released and additional tracks that came out on various compilations over the years.

Robi Insinna’s alter ego project Manhead started in 2001 and was the first vinyl release on Relish. He wanted to incorporate other influences than he was using on Headman like Balearic Beat, Proto House or Retro Electronica.
The first release RR001 10” featured Show me the way/Sister. Doop/What? was released in 2002. In the same year the remixes Sister (Volga Select Disco Disco Mix) Volga Select was Ivan Smagghe and Marc Collin. Doop was remixed by Phil Mison and Pete Herbert as Reverso 68. Special was released in 2003.
In 2004 Birth, School, Work, Death was released on Relish and Trevor Jackson’s Output Recordings which released artists such as LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture, Black Strobe, Playgroup and Gramme.
In 2005 Hey Now was remixed by The Rapture and Aplam by Revlover.
Organization (Extended Version) was featured on BORIV compilation and Kasper Bjørke’s remix of the same track was part of the RELISH 100 Compilation. 
As last track Dancer 2021 Version was updated and mixed new.

Doop (Reverso 68 Remix)

For their next instalment, Ransom Note Records sub-label Insult To Injury welcome Antwerp-based producer Y O K O C H O to the imprint for his debut EP 'Everyday Diamonds'. 

Drawing inspiration from the rich history of New Beat in his home country, Y O K O C H O crafts his own take on these proto dance sounds, touching on a plethora of moods and flavours.

While opener, and title track, 'Everyday Diamonds' is a feel-good summer hit guaranteed to lift spirits, 'Data' provides some visceral 303 action and 'Other Side Of The Mirror' a dose of vintage synthesis and fuzzy drum machine-led grooves, before closing out with the 80s new age ambience of 'See You There'.

Label boss Timothy Clerkin bolsters the EP with a dancefloor-focused remix of the lead track, propelled by 303s and acid house influences.

Ex Ponto is the musical project of Melbourne-based multi-disciplinary artist, Ivan Mašić. Ivan’s debut LP, Neka Neka, released in late-2019, was made in homage to Yugoslavian experimental rave artists of the 80s. With this remix album, Ivan has tapped a variety of both established and up-and-coming producers to meddle with that album’s dark, cavernous textures, and inject it with a minimalist, club-ready pulse.A2 on this remix project, the eponymous “Ex Ponto”, comes courtesy of Melbourne-based collective General Purpose. General Purpose have taken the lo-fi, shoegaze feel of the original track and morphed it into a psychedelic, dubby slice of acid-techno. The track simmers throughout, ever-so carefully building in tempo, until reaching a wall of atonal, noise-rock-esque guitars, with the haunting spoken-word Slavic vocal sample reemerging through the haze as if invoking a kind of sacred enchantment. When the guitars eventually dissipate and the beat returns, the effect is at once transfixing and visceral, mind-altering and body-transporting. This is techno to completely immerse yourself in and let swallow you whole.

PREMIERE: Johannes Klingebiel - Wavy [Claptrap]

Affirming their status as dedicated tastemakers, Crazy P call on some of their favourite producers and deliver 12 immaculate remixes of their beloved 2019 album, ‘Age Of The Ego’ A cosmic, vibe heavy, and eclectic journey through low-slung, groovy Balearic, big room disco, deep house, lo-fi, and beyond with artists the trio have admired, and friends encountered along the way.

‘Age Of The Ego’ is a very dear album to Crazy P. “We poured a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this baby so we were keen to get the remix package right. Everyone was chosen by us as fans in the first instance, and together we’ve achieved exactly what we set out to build. A diverse sounding package that doesn’t compromise on quality”

Gerd Janson’s 80’s italo-esque remix of ‘We Will F**k You Up’ kicks things off full throttle as a debut digital single on June 8th. Other focal tracks come from Medlar ft Dele Sosimi who provide a hip-swinging rendition of 'The Witness’. Hot Toddy (Crazy P’s Chris Todd) ups the ante for the dancefloor on ‘Love is With You’ whilst retaining the lushness and the sentiment of the original, and other Crazy P co-founder James Baron aka Ron Basejam delivers a disco stomping four to the floor rendition of ‘Is This All That It Seems’. Another stand out contribution comes from the late Soulphiction who so sadly passed between submitting his remix and its release. His low slung take on 'Barefooted' is a roller-boogie funk jam, heavy on the bass and congas, guaranteed to make you shimmy.

Crazy P - “The very sadly missed Michel Baumann. We’ve been huge fans of his work over the years. He always had a great ear for sampling, bringing obscure elements from disco, soul, funk and film to his productions that have always oozed emotion and atmosphere. It’s an honor to have a truly authentic remix from him.”

When speaking about the rest of the package, it’s clear Crazy P have chosen artists they have a deep appreciation for.

“DJ Nature - a king of the underground, injects a whole new boldness into ‘SOS’ with a kick drum that launches you into space. Ilija Rudman has an inimitable style, the simplicity of his remix is key to its beauty. Riding high with his releases on Phantasy, we knew James Welsh would give us some toughness, and he certainly delivered with aplomb on ‘This Fire’, alongside Mancunian/Salfordian collective See Thru Hands’ whose version infuses a fresh, deep, durgy, rock-disco sound. Somethin’ Sanctified’s analog drenched house productions we’ve loved over the years, and the duo have stripped this mix right back, the vocoder bit on the end is well worth the wait!”

The appetite for Crazy P’s supremely fun and exquisite live and DJ performances is still high, continuing to leave their mark on the landscape of British dance music with a mammoth tour schedule in 2022 to lay down ‘Age Of The Ego’ original material and remixes all summer, ​​with some new music thrown in for good measure.

PREMIERE : Crazy P - This Fire (James Welsh Remix)

The master of weirdness strikes again! Rome-based producer A-Tweed (SXDNS222/FREEDL029) is one of those artists who has already achieved the goal of every wannabe music maker out there: He managed to find a characteristic sonority even at an early age. Those who follow the career of the Italian virtuoso, whenever bump into one of his originals or remixes, already know what to expect: A Voodoo-meets-Macumba-meets-Acid dance-floor-oriented cut. Such a concoction resulted in a wealthy and vast output that landed his work on vital labels such as Hard Fist, Melomana, Karakter, Playground, Electric Shapes, Tom Tom Disco, HEARec, Logical, Duro, Fines Tier, Sinchi, and Inside Out Records. The latter, for the second time, to bring to life his forthcoming EP, “Rendezvous in Tangier”. Remixes courtesy of Scottish Highlands-born CAIN and Salons des Amateurs resident Lucas Croon.

Premiered here, CAIN’s version seems to have been extremely influenced by the Moroccan city. His interpretation of “Tangier”, despite being brief, delivers a message as abundant as the original. The hypnotism and psychedelia are still there, but the intense and frenzied aura was replaced by a bucolic and Balearic atmosphere.

We have already premiered themes fruit of the collaboration between flatmates, friends, couples… but this is the first time we have the opportunity of reviewing the work fashioned by father and son: Cmix & Creeg teamed up once again to bring to life “High Impact”, their debut release on the rising Brazilian label Print ID. On the remix duty, the also Brazilian and also rising artist MeMachine, who delivered a spot-on version of the title track.

While Creeg, the heir, has just started giving the first steps of his career, Cmix, the pappy, has a journey that started a few decades ago. The seasoned producer has been flirting with trippy and darkness-infused cuts for quite some time – and that’s exactly the kind of sonority he has been tutoring his son.

The track we selected to premiere reveals what the established/promising duo is capable of. Energetic, upbeat, melodic, and well-constructed, “Exhale” is a super fat-basslined arpeggio-based tune whose positive message invites you to go nuts on the dance floor.

“Edgy Future Discotheque” is the name of the brand-new and fresh-from-the-oven compilation released on the vital “Madchester”-based imprint Sprechen, but it could be also the name of the genre the label favours to publish. Its flawless curation process guarantees a catalogue full of, yes, edgy, out-of-the-box Disco-soaked gems, and the Volume 5 of its VA series does not go in another direction. On board, a true dream team of collaborators: Andy Buchan (SXDNS012), Flash Atkins, Ed Mahon (SXDNS068), Tom2Trax, Jimmy Turnbull, Mangetout, and Daco with a solid remix for Mr. Atkins’s contribution.

The track we were solicited to review comes from the criminal mastermind of Tom2Trax, an experienced British DJ who has been strolling through the muddy and marshy terrain of the production realm since his first appearance on Sprechen’s “Edgy Future Discotheque Vol. 3” in February last year.

His “Heatwave Horizon” seems to have been named after our doomed status quo: The near future will be bleak, brace yourselves! But before we all die due to the current and forthcoming climate emergency events, let’s melt on a packed and sweaty dance floor, shall we? Tom2Trax’s cut is devoted to triggering momentary happiness not only at hot pool parties but also on dark indoor grounds: Frolic percussive elements, suitable vocal hooks, and a correct amount of acid set the mood of one of the best tracks of the compilation.

The Hard Fist imprint comes back harder with a fourth 12-inch EP, a global beat inspired work mixed with cosmic synths and acid lines. The two minds of the label, Tushen Raï & Cornelius Doctor joined their forces to release the striking « Lights of Khonvoum », trippy and definitely made for the dancefloor.
Back to the roots of their African influences, they produced 4 tracks inspired by primitive ritual music from the « Cradle of Mankind », going far away from the hype of highlife, afrobeat and afrofunk groove. Many mythological references are hidden in the project and most of its samples are borrowed to traditional Pygmies music from Central Africa and Congo. As a matter of fact, Khonvoum is a Pygmy god who created mankind with clay: black clay for back people, white clay for their white brothers and red one for... Pygmies.
Focusing on polyphonic chants and polyrhythmic artisanal percutions, the EP celebrates trance states of dancers during birth ceremonies, weddings or funerals. Cornelius Doctor and Tushen Raï try to keep the power of mystic and religious music in a modern way. They introduce heavy beats and dark cosmic synth waves for an allegoric club reinterpretation of ancestral sounds. To go deeper in the spiritual experience, the two wizards are joined by their favorite producers: their gang member Bawrut (who released « Drums of Passion », the 2nd Hard Fist EP) and Pletnev, son of the "down tempo" revolution's city, Vilnius.
The soul of the EP may be hidden in La Tribou, probably the most surprising and singular track. A dark heavy beat keeps you dancing while flooding you in a wave of tribal percussions, human panting, crying, having an orgasm and shouting.
